Blackened Blue – If I Were To Fall (2020 Remake) | Metal

Part of an upcoming EP, this remake of Blackened’s original track and vocal version of it is breaking Twilight’s fall further, with both clean vocals and screaming vocals reminding her of the power within her soul to get up again, reminding us in turn. Another perfect example of the power of Metal doing wonders to inspire, and express pony hardships… the heavy way!

DAϟH – Blood Moon in the Everfree | Gabber

“So mysterious” perfectly embodies the spirit of this half-ambient gabber tune by DAϟH. Taken straight off of DAϟH and Payyn’s new album Equestrian Terror: An Introduction, Blood Moon in the Everfree includes a ravenous beat composed of highly industrial drums and a woodwind sample, along with an ocean of ominous effects. DAϟH ends this manic piece by aptly pulling out all stops. DAϟH and Payyn’s album Equestrian Terror also includes songs like Deadline Darling, Dream Demon, and the title track Equestrian Terror.

Lukas Vokrinek – A Silver-Eyed Warrior | Orchestral/Soundtrack

Short and sweet, A Silver-Eyed Warrior is an orchestral piece that takes its influence from MLP as well as RWBY. Strings and orchestral percussion unite at the climax with a distorted guitar which plays a low riff to compliment the strings before slowing down again and introducing a piano, an acoustic guitar and some soft bells. Not bad for a year’s long hiatus away from composing!

Thorinair – A Recurring Nightmare | Ambient/Soundtrack

After 2 years of no new music, Thorinair has returned! Again! A Recurring Nightmare is an atmospheric ambient track with brooding synths and string sounds, painting an image of a dark place. The dark ambient elements are a welcome fit, giving a sense of dread. Welcome back to the grind, Thor! This would be a perfect fit in a horror game soundtrack.

SCRATON – Cyberpink (Laughter) | Complextro

There’s nothing getting in SCRATON’s way. Cyberpink is a bouncy electronic track that prominently features vocal samples edited to sound like Pinkie Pie’s the guest singer here! The voice as well as the other stray samples really compliment the track’s complextro roots, with the core track having a pop structure before eventually building up to a synth breakdown filled with vocal chops and even a powerful sample. Wonder if we’ll be seeing the rest of the elements represented through SCRATON’s signature style?

Branrich VanIstner – Rise, She-Demon. Rise! | Industrial Metal

Branrich VanIster returns with a change of pace from his last two tracks. Rise, She-Demon. Rise! is an industrial piece that borrows elements from metal, primarily driven by a fuzzy bass guitar and punchy drums. A sudden voice sample of Sunset announcing her presence precedes a transition into a faster segment of the song, as if to represent her growth of power and that the Equestrian town is truly in danger. Brutal stuff.

Remember Falling – Strangers (feat. BearSlayer & Cerridwen) | Alternate Electronic

Remember Falling returns with another song from the upcoming Dawn Into Dusk. Starting off with a brief voice exchange between BearSlayer and Cerridwen, we’re thrust into a midtempo electro piece full of shining synths with a positive vibe, yet RF’s vocals and lyrics ponder whether Hollow and Infinity are safe in their new land, and if they’re seen as outsiders and strangers. The vocal duet in the chorus works so well with RF’s typical style of electronic.

Vylet Pony – Queen of Misfits (feat. Cabi and Namii) (RottenTotten Remix) | Synthpop

Remember when I said Last Tempest would become the new Discord? Well, Queen of Misfits might have taken that title. RottenTotten’s remix changes the vocal rhythm up a little while retaining the original’s 80s influence with the synths and drums. The drum samples and added piano chords give the song a more natural edge, as if it was recorded in a studio. Just a little change can add so much!
