As a reintroduction to them making pony music again Remember Falling has decided to rework their track I’d Like To Try, and this new rendition sounds amazing! The song is focused around Lyra and BonBon, mainly their initial falling in love. From upbeat melodies to adorable vocals this track has it all and is a pleasure to listen to, so definitely check it out!
SOUND BANDIT – MAKE SOMETHING | Plunderphonics
SOUND BANDIT is back with her third installment of a newly released plunderphonics EP! “Make Something” pulls in so many pony chops, from G3 ponies like Lily Lightly to Twilight and Pinkie from G4, and is accompanied by a lovely PMV put together with help from rebane. The composition’s structure is very unique with multiple tempo changes and meter changes (you can here sections in 4/4, 5/4, and 3/4) making it very intellectually stimulating, even after multiple listenings. The sound starts out minimally, but over its course, flushes out gorgeously into deep synths and piano. It’s also accompanied with a lovely message about getting there and making something, whatever it may be. Absolutely stellar!
Daniel Ingram – We’re Not Flawless (Vale & Fl0 Remix) | Complextro
Who said just ’cause Gen 5 is in full swing there wont still be loads of love for the Gen 4 bangers? We’re Not Flawless has always been a special track, not just cause it pokes a little fun at us bronies, but also for the message of everyone has their highs and lows. This remix truly is a refreshing new sound for the track and has everything from vocals and vocal chops to upbeat melodies and hard hitting drops, and even a soft piano outro! Definitely give this track a listen and enjoy the fire sounds!
Nugget – Rizz | Orchestral / Trap
Today Nugget brings is something new and fresh, something I’ve never seen before! Combining the melodic sounds of orchestral with the hard hitting drums of trap he creates a new form of banger that works way better then it should! Definitely give this track a listen and enjoy this special sound!
EveryDayDashie – Training Grounds ’23 | Electro House
Today EveryDayDashie brings us a banging house tune as a bit of an anthem to the Newbie Artist Training Grounds event this year, and my god is it a banger! This track perfectly shows off the distinct sound electro house has always had, and the melody is sure to be stuck in your head for quite some time!
Equinity 06: Expedition | Compilation Album
In case you missed the release party at the end of last month, the compilation collective Equinity released their sixth album. Most of the 42 individual songs on this release are electronic, from house to dubstep to drum & bass, but there is the occasional rock or orchestral piece here and there. The artists featured this time around are also more diverse – some regular names make an appearance but there are also some new faces to add to the Equinity sonic universe.
All proceeds from Equinity’s albums also go to charity. For this album, the team have chosen to donate Hivos, an organization striving to bring gender equality, climate justice and several other important topics to attention especially in lesser developed areas of the world.
Expedition is available to download for any price from Equinity’s Bandcamp.
Nexgen – Hot Pony Summer (ft. SOUND BANDIT) | Hip-Hop
Nexgen bringing the fire in summer with his track together with SOUND BANDIT, featuring a massive beat and everything from hard hitting, quick vocals to slower, stabby raps, this track got it all! And the rhymes are just fire, from references to The Devil Wears Prada to fun lines like “leader of the pack, yeah they call me dawg”, this track is a firework of lyrics! Definitely give this track a listen!
BURNING DOWN BRIDLEWOOD – LVNDBVCK | Pop Punk
cw: explicit lyrics
Burning Down Bridlewood, a band featuring the talent of rawrity, debuts with a banger, “LVNDBVCK”. The title is a play on “LAND BACK”, and the song’s edgy lyrics are about taking back land which was unfairly redistributed sometime between the G4 and G5 eras. The track buzzes with the pop punk energy of guitars, the crisp click of drumsticks, and the classic pony chops you’ve grown to love in rawrity’s songs. The vocals straddle near hyperpop territory, giving the song even more energy and creating a really cool texture. Nice work!
The Wilders – Show Me Your Pony Moves (Childlike Wonder Remix) | Synthpop
Childlike Wonder’s remix of “Show Me Your Pony Moves” is such a bop! It takes the original mix from Make Your Mark Chapter 4 and adds in an extra groovy bass line. The new snare is clean and crisp and there’s also some really nice whips in the high end. Towards the end, Wonder fills in an additional melodic line, really putting the synth in synth pop. The remix makes great use of the original material, and will have you dancing on your hooves for sure.
rawrity – touching grass | pop
The phrase “Go Touch Grass” has often been a negative phrase that people tell others on the internet to go chill out, get off the internet, and go outside. However, rawrity changes the stigma with one of her newest songs “touching grass.” From the synth buildup, to the fade out, what I appreciate most about this song is how it feels like a wakeup call that can be interpreted however it is needed, and the chill melody adds onto that realization. You can really tell when a musician puts their heart and soul into a piece, and this piece is no exception; this is always something I love about rawrity’s work: every single song was made with 100% pure passion and emotion, which I feel is how music should be.
