Modern Bard – Vintage Era | Electronic

Well well well, this is definitely something outside of the norm! I’ve enjoyed some of Modern Bard’s other electronic works, including his Awakening submission, and it’s great to see him make something so unique. This track is similar to the sounds of electronic pioneers from the 70s and 80s, specifically Jean-Michel Jarre who served as major inspiration for the soundscape of it. Definitely worth taking a listen to.

BlueBrony – Swagger Trot | House

I was going to say that this is something “different” for BlueBrony, but to be honest, every single song he uploads is different – I never know what to expect. Anyway, have this little fun track he made, which I shall categorise as ‘miscellaneous house’  in celebration of reaching 100 subscribers.

Ponytronic – Lost Half (UndreamedPanic Remix) | House

Next up in the build up to Ponytronic’s Impetuous View remix and orchestral suite is a remix from UndreamedPanic. This comes across to me as kinda simple (for Panic’s work), but deliberately so in order to keep a chill feeling…get it? Because of the backgrou-

Eniix – PWNYS | Electro House

Fiesta! Ahaha, I think it’s radical whenever producers sample their local dubs on tracks as it’s a great reminder that this truly is an international community. Super fun tune here from Eniix driven by a pumping beat, playful basslines, and vocals that are definitively Pinkie Pie regardless of the language. If you’d love to hear more tracks like this, remember to leave a comment on the track 😀

Silva Hound ft. Black Gryph0n – EGOMANIA (Phoxi Remix) | Dubstep / Electro

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 29 November 2016.

Phoxi has done it again with an awesome new heavy track that hits you like a blizzard. As part of Silva Hound’s new remix EP for his track with Black Gryph0n, this remix is definitely the craziest of the bunch. Starting out tamely enough with some strong bass sounds and clean percussion, it builds up pretty steadily before hitting with a crazy electro drop full of some pretty awesome and eclectic harsh sound design, that’s still pretty accessible in my opinion. Definitely worth checking out if you like heavy stuff!

Frozen Night – Chrysalis Metamorphosis | Orchestral Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 30 November 2016.

I have just been loving Frozen Night’s releases recently. It feels like they’ve crossed that precipice into producing consistently high quality works. This one is no different, an 8 minute orchestral metal epic about Queen Chrysalis. It slides between heavy, powerful metal sections and more serene, light, almost ambient sections as well. The build in power around 4 minutes in is especially enjoyable to listen to. Definitely an awesome piece of work from Frozen, and well worth a listen.

4everfreebrony – Hoping (feat. Giggly Maria & Relative1Pitch) | Acoustic Pop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 27 November 2016.

A revamp of a song he wrote whilst in Argentina that some of you might remember, ‘Hoping’, this fully realised version is wonderfully produced and features some excellent vocals too. The emotion in the piano, the guitar and the vocals themselves help push the vision of the piece. This track is available as the title track on 4everfree’s new album, Hoping, which I highly recommend checking out. It also features a bunch of his other recent hits such as ‘Smell The Roses’, ‘Bound With Time’, ‘Carry On’ and more!

[HMC] CainbowRrash – Requiem For Melodic | Orchestral

Earlier this year, we learned of MelodicPony’s unfortunate passing. It was around this time that CainbowRrash started discovering the fandom, including Melodic’s channel. So in tribute, they’ve created this short but sweet piece, seemingly emulating Melodic’s style by using motifs from the show’s soundtrack and BGM. It’s also available on the recently released HMC Vol. 1 album.
