Voting opens for the Top Ten Pony Songs of February 2016!

Although it’s a tad later than usual, but with reason mind you, the voting for the Top Ten Pony Songs of February has opened up. You know the drill – pick your 10 favourite songs from the month of February and enter them in the Google Docs Form, which you can find in the above video’s description.

Ponycide – Far Away | Trip-Hop

Completing what hackd called earlier “the holy trinity of chill”, we have a new song from Ponycide. They’ve been on a roll with Trip-Hop tracks recently, and this one delivers just as much. Go check it out for some jazzed-up time patterns!

ertrii – Holocaust | Chillstep

Continuing the chill vibe from Hay Tea’s track this morning, ertrii brings his usual atmospheric game to the table. Snappy yet reserved drums, smooth sub bass, and a euphoric keyboard melody are all brought together to make this a fantastic song.

Hay Tea – Lost in Time | Drum & Bass

Hay Tea is back with another roller for you to vibe out to. Flavored with some melodic guitar, bells, and synth, this chill DnB tune continues Hay Tea’s use of working with a time based theme, which continues to work just as well to define his iconic “crate digger” sound.

Daniel Ingram x Sleepy Tom – Winter Pusher (dj ponyboy bootleg) | Mashup

Ahahaha, oh man, I crack up every time I see that cover art edit. Ok so, this one’s really interesting and something we haven’t had on the site before. After previously establishing themselves as a sample based artist with an interesting convention of using a unique alias for each track, Cerulean Draw return this time brandishing the name dj ponyboy with a mashup of Sleepy Tom’s house tune “Pusher” with vocal chops from Winter Wrap Up. Though there’s a little bit of clash on the build, you’re rewarded with a super fun drop that’s punctuated by clutch interjections of additional show quotes.

The Dark Side – Make Me Jump | Electronic

After brandishing his first ever remix last week, The Dark Side returns with a debut original edm track. I think it’s evident that this artist- being a guitarist- definitely has some musical experience going into electronic production and it should be exciting to see where he goes.

Comet Glider – Techno Vibes | Electronic

This new track from Comet Glider is difficult to categorize…at a basic level it’s an electronic house track, that features a melody on spiccato strings, and underlying electric guitar at one point in the song. If that sounds like your kind of thing then check it out above!

Ponysphere & Secret Metal – Harmony’s Call | Metal

I’m constantly impressed by this fandom’s metal scene. While I’m not strongly involved in it myself, I dabble every now and again and always find myself headbanging to something along the way. This awesome collab from Ponysphere and Secret Metal is no exception, go check it out! \m/

Francis Vace – Entropy | Punk

A bonus track on his recent EP of covers, Souvenirs, Francis originally covered this AwkwardMarina song a couple of years ago. This is a rework of that version, involving some re-recording and some re-mastering, and is one of my favourites from the EP.

Foozogz – Crossroads | Future Bass

A very well-established fandom musician, Foozogz brings us something totally fresh from him, a happy hardcore-influenced future bass track featuring the vocals of a relatively new singer, MegglesKisses. The often highly upbeat and energetic nature of what future bass can be really fits with Foozogz’ style, and this is certainly one of my favourite tracks from the new Balloon Party album.
