[P@D] Protocat & Hay Tea – Autumn Leaves / Hydra – Popsicle VIP | Drum & Bass

As we did last time, we’re pairing up similar songs from the new Ponies at Dawn album to give you as many of them as possible! First up is a collaboration that I’ve been anticipating since I first heard about it. Fandom liquid dnb regular Hay Tea teamed up with Protocat, who we first heard about from their remix of I’ll Fly. And the result is just as good as you’d expect from 2 people people make such beautiful chilled music!

The original version of Popsicle was a tropical house track that featured on Starlit Flames, a previous Ponies At Dawn album. Now it’s been revitalised into liquid dnb that’s just add summery and relaxing as the original!

Ponies At Dawn – Voyager | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre


Here it is, what’s bound to be the best Ponies At Dawn album yet. With each new album comes both a new selection of artists as well as some of the great ones who have been around for a while – something that is in my opinion the best balance when compiling brony music.

The album is available completely for free on Bandcamp, or you pay whatever amount you wish for it. You can expect to see many of the songs from it posted on the site in the coming days and weeks!

Insanity – Comets | Drum & Bass

My only qualm with this is that the master sounds a little over-compressed, but otherwise we’ve got a solid dnb track from Insanity here, making their debut appearance on HMH (and A State of Sugar too, for that matter). Nice work Insanity, hope we get to see more of your work in the future.

[P@D] bank pain – Empire Past | Neurofunk

Here it is. The final Cider Party exclusive feature from the upcoming Ponies At Dawn album, Voyager. This neurofunk track from bank pain is exceptional. Definitely my favourite out of the previewed tracks so far, and hopefully only a small example of what this new P@D album has to offer!

Vylet Pony ft. Kyunn – Mr Whiskers (fractilx Remix) | Drum & Bass

One of the hidden gems from the deluxe edition of Super Pony World, here’s fractilx’s take on the “title is self explanatory” track Mr Whiskers. Fast paced drum breaks and fractilx’s signature techno-esque arpeggios adorn this track and make it pretty unique for the genre!

4everfreebrony – Bound With Time (Synthis Remix) | Drum & Bass

NB: This is an edited version of what was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 2 October 2016.

Start the day with a 4everfreebrony song, end it with a remix of it! This remix from Synthis turns up the tempo and adds some bass to the mix that helps to accentuate some of the good qualities of the original whilst also giving it a distinctly Synthis flair.

YourEnigma – On Hold (Intersekt Remix) | Drum & Bass

Although it lacks Rhyme Flow’s vocals from the original, this remix of the classic On Hold from Intersekt still takes a great new approach to the original. It’s more of a reworked version of a previous remix, featured on the /MLP/ Plays album from a few months ago.

Segments Of Life seems to be going through a phase of parodying Trap Nation records in their videos, so have this latest ‘Equestria Nation Records’ release – a complete melange of genres including djent, trap and drum & bass…because if you can make it work, why not?

Protocat – I’ll Fly (Hay Tea Remix) | Drum & Bass

Hay Tea’s put his own spin on one of the standout tracks from the recent /MLP/ Plays compilation album, Protocat’s I’ll Fly. While this remix keeps the same genre and pace as Protocat’s song, it manages to add a slightly heavier feel in the drum beat.

Trixent – Get Dirty | Drum & Bass

Another dnb banger from Trixent, a newcomer to the brony music scene. With this and Twilight’s Sweepy Surprise, they’d obviously gained some previous experience in music production; always a handy thing for new artists.
