PegasYs – Colgate’s Family Dentistry VIP | Drumstep

“Y’know, for kids!” It seems Pega’s back with an old reworked track in celebration of 900 subscribers. The sound design in this track is very clean (haha, totally original joke), with an ever-changing soundscape and of course, the great unique chord progressions I’ve come to expect from PegasYs.

LoadedELEMENTS & New Reverian – Red | Drumstep

An old project brought back to life, this collab takes inspiration from the well-known fanfiction University Days. It takes a more melodic drumstep approach rather than a bass heavy focus, it adds in some of Reverian’s orchestral elements too.

R3CTIFIER – FOR3VER | Drumstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 7 December 2016.

A new track from R3CTIFIER teasing his upcoming R3CTIFIED EP, FOR3VER is a restyling of an older track he initially produced in 2014. The new coat of paint has done it wonders, with a fantastic blend of melody and sound design making this a pretty awesome piece. Something about the sections with the melodic chord progression interspersed with heavy sounds just gets me, so make sure to check it out if you’re up for that!

Filly in the Box – Into the Rain | Neurofunk

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 6 December 2016.

A new neuro track from Filly in the Box, but this one is a little different than most of the recent ones he’s released, with a more chill vibe to it. This is accentuated by the expert use of some Fluttershy vocal samples, and the sense of space given by some of the sounds in the track is really nice to hear. It feels both empty and full at the same time, which creates a pretty nice feel to the track. Definitely worth checking out if you want some chill neuro.

NeverLastStanding – Tantalize | Drumstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 18 November 2016.

NeverLastStanding returns with an incredibly varied and high quality piece! Initially starting off as an electro banger quite similar to his last release, the second drop is a lot more trap-like in style, whilst the third and final one breaks out into drum & bass. The last part is definitely my favourite, and the liberal use of Starlight Glimmer vocal chops is a great addition. This track is also available as part of Shika No Mori Sound’s new compilation album Forest Fires, so check that out if you want more compilation album stuff!

Horse Music Central, a group for brony musicians, have released their first compilation album, organised by FruityFusion, Spectra and Violin Melody, called Horse Music Vol. 1! This album, comprising 14 tracks, features relatively established artists such as Ryazan, fractilx and FruityFusion himself, as well as other new and upcoming artists such as Filly in the Box, Intersekt and Lunar Dance. With the money made from the album going towards charity, it’s definitely something worth checking out if you like compilation projects (I know I do!). PVNK – Horse Party (R3CTIFIER Remix) | Drumstep

The Cider Party is in full swing again, with R3ctifier‘s take on PVNK’s Horse Party not failing to uplift the room with an instrumental mellow and intense at the same time, and a brand new use of those vocal samples, making the track a quality experience of many sensations. Vinyl Scratch would approve!

Vylet Pony – Super Pony World | Guest Album Review | Electronic

Better late than never, eh? NB: A small part of this review was also written by Spectra.

Hey kiddos, it’s Reverie, and while I’m busy being sad and hating myself that I haven’t been working on the Top Ten listings that much due to school and graduation and all that, I’ve written a comprehensive review, going track by track through ALL of the new Vylet release, entitled Super Pony World. Since we don’t want to exclude some of the deluxe version material, this is going to cover all of the base tracks plus a couple of the original pieces from the deluxe version. So, let’s hop right into it after the break!
