Elias Frost returns with yet another song from Stories Vol. III. Based on a Swedish lullaby by Bellmans Vaggvisa, Chrysalis Lullaby is a truly haunting and creepy piece about the queen of the hive herself. A haunting vocal piece makes up for the core sample, with the beginning flaunting some orchestral strings, a piano, some music box sounds and haunting ambience sounds before eventually building up as Frost’s music is known to do. The buildup sees the inclusion of an electric guitar, EDM drum hits on top of the vocalist’s creepy delivery. This album’s on the way to greatness!

SCRATON – Black Cadillac | Dubstep
Scraton returns with another bouncy banger from his upcoming 3 track EP Insomnia 2! This one hits incredibly hard with its vocal samples, punchy drums, synths and wubs as sharp as knives. An intense track such as this will no doubt shape up the club and bring it to life. Look out for Insomnia 2 when it drops!
One Track Mind – Forgotten Dreams | Ambient
One Track Mind paid tribute to Luna in partaking in Luna Day on the 21st of December with a reflective piece on solitude. The heavy amounts of reverb on the piano and the distorted sounds give a spatial feel, or an impression of emptiness. One can surely picture Luna waiting on the moon. I invite you to delve further in the depths of this piece, as there’s still plenty more to explore, or to guide you in your meditation.
[Equinity] Paloris – Goodbye | Liquid Drum & Bass
The 39th and penultimate track from the upcoming Equinity 02: Catalyst is here, and it’s sure to warm you up this Hearth’s Warming. Goodbye is a relaxing liquid drum & bass piece with the familiar show vocal chops that’ll get stuck in your head easily along with the fast yet chilled out beat that sounds very much like something Vylet Pony would make. Catalyst comes out December 27th!
Koron Korak – Constellations (Covering Aviators) | Synthwave / Orchestral
Originally intended as a gift for a friend, Koron Korak remade the instrumental of Aviators‘ Constellations from the ground up for his cover. Turning the kick down a bit was a great idea to make space for the synths and more importantly the violin. Koron Korak’s signature instrument replaces the original vocals and as he puts it, the violin is his voice. Dancing while playing in Lindsey Stirling style is quite a feat, especially when the music is this good!
Toby Macarony – Shiny Ponies | Chiptune
Introduce yourself to the Macarony’s new chiptune track with a flamboyant and sparkling intro made of synth brass. After an upbeat pixelated bridge, succumb to the creamy interlude, which builds you up to its chorus of vocal chops over even more brassy chords. Be guided through this frenzied chiptune piece with its action-signaling tom-tom fills! Stay for the last few bars and you’ll find an even wider chorus of vocals over even thicker synth brasses, ending the song perfectly.
[Helpie’s Corner] TobWie LP – RandoPone | Electro
Released as part of Helpie’s Corner: Other Side Of The Mirror and uploaded on A State of Sugar’s channel, this is TobWie LP’s newest tune. Creativity and a wild variety of samples are the main focus here. Experimentation with sound design can be heard throughout the track but powerful drops are here too. The vocal lines are arranged in such a way they can be interpreted in questionable ways as the interesting art chosen (most likely by Violin Melody) suggests.
Nyancat380 – From the Future | Dubstep
Nyancat380’s glow up continues, with his new intriguing approach to making dubstep, taking cues from traditional Colombian cumbia music. This banger will be sure to please any Latin bronies (like myself!) due to its tasteful sampling of the Spanish pony dub (It’s About Time‘s dub specifically). The sound design is among the best we’ve heard from Nyancat and many of the rhythms hit hard, even those with a cumbia shuffle. If you’re into dubstep and want something a bit different, this one’s for you!
Lianella Stilson – Anger | Dubstep
The elusive Lianella Stilson returns with her first original track since February! This one is a heavy dubstep piece with lyrical themes based around anger, her feelings pushed out with powerful wubs and a couple lines being juxtaposed with dark growls. The song even takes a different direction towards the middle, with the tempo moving faster while remaining cathartic and punchy. All the power to her!
Eurobeat Brony – Discord (Rod Steven Remix) | Eurobeat
It’s difficult to do such an iconic song as Discord justice for many reasons, especially when staying within the same genre as the original, but Rod Steven has done it! His new lead melody during the breakdowns has a distinct punch and catchiness to it, not to mention an awesome synth solo, so go check it out!
