It’s awesome that Nymira is getting a remix from another pony musician, and Lorris certainly did a wonderful job! With an instrumental that is chill and energetic at the same time, the remix takes us through a blissful journey through sound as Lorris’ much enjoyable musical style shines once again to bring the original track Because Of You in a new light.

Hay Tea – Alternate History (Progressive Element Remix) | Liquid Drum & Bass
Hay Tea‘s amazing Drum & Bass is certainly providing much inspiration to remix, and here we are getting Progressive Element’s take on the excellent Alternate History. Giving the track a brand new spin, this delightful remix makes awesome use of distortions to instill even more unique-ness. A perfect remix that sublimates the original while bringing a distinct new mood and many wonders over a strong progression!
Horse Music Hotspot – February 2017

The Horse Music Hotspot is one year old this month! 🎉🎉🎉
This month we saw an especially strong influx of quality rock and acoustic music, among some other non-electronic genres. While there’s still been plenty that (particularly good dnb), it’s a pleasure to see such a strong variety. Check out this month’s episode for a complete melange of genres!
To listen in live, tune in to Ponyville FM at 4PM Eastern on the last Sunday of each month!

Vylet Pony – Out of Your Mind (feat. Lyde) | Glitch Hop
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 21 February 2017.
Awesome vocals from Lyde Octave and Vylet himself, a funky feel and some killer sound design all combine to make this new track one of my recent favourites from him. I’m a sucker for good glitch hop so it’s pretty awesome to see some more of it from Vylet. The combination of jazzy groove and contemporary bass design is something that seems to come pretty well to Vylet and it definitely suits his style.
UndreamedPanic – Cold (Sonic Rainboom Remix) | Psytrance
NB: This is an edited version of what was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 21 February 2017.
A slow and dark tune, Sonic Rainboom’s psytrance remix of Panic‘s pretty heavy electro track Cold builds through the track terrifically and makes awesome use of the melody from the original. I especially enjoy the care taken with all the auxiliary sounds unitised throughout the piece that add a lot of depth.
Dynamite Grizzly – Trickery (Faith Mix) | Techno
Off Dynamite Grizzly’s latest album The Horses Really Like Techno (that you should really grab), this Faith Mix of Trickery showcases really well the musician’s talent at producing delightful Techno that just feels so unique, soothing, and blissful. It’s something I can’t really explain, but this track just works so well, and puts you in an enjoyable state, it almost feels nostalgic somewhat. Perhaps it is just one of the aspects of the magic of music!
MrMehster – New Wave (feat. N. Hollow) (Prey Remix) | Trap
Prey has been consistently releasing awesome solo music for a while, and we are now delighted to welcome the musician’s take on New Wave from the fire duo of MrMehster and N. Hollow! Mostly instrumental, this bouncy Trap remix made with love displays Prey’s talent and musical style producing underground sick beats. Definitely a collector remix!
Tworats & N. Hollow – Deity of Dissonance | Dubstep
Another collab of many wonders featuring the rapping coolness of N. Hollow, this Discord-themed track also makes a delightful use of fittingly distorted samples from the show, laying them out over a great melodic instrumental, and making the whole song quite an awesome tribute to the Deity of Dissonance!
iblank2apples – I’ve Been Dreaming of Sunshine and Celery Stalks (bank pain Remix) | Drum & Bass
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 20 February 2017.
iblank2apples’ original piece is one of my all time favourite pony music tracks, so whenever I see a remix of it, it always excites me. This is my personal favourite remix of it, as it takes and builds upon the emotions initially present with some beautiful sampling, not to mention awesome percussion and bass design that helps to augment the melodic nature of the original. Most of the neurofunk-style drum & bass in the fandom is pretty dark and edgy but this piece is decidedly upbeat, and pulls off the desired atmosphere wonderfully.
DJT – Sweetness & Lightning | Chillout
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 20 February 2017.
DJT showcases his abilities to make the more relaxed side of electronic music work just as well as the energetic side. Sweetness and Lightning combines beautiful Fluttershy vocal chops with some pared back percussion, pretty piano and soft ambient sounds in a really lovely way.
