Koron Korak & Mane In Green – Choices (Requiem for Cerebre Arkor) | Orchestral

Oh boy… Koron Korak’s latest track is a collaboration with Mane In Green, and Choices sees the two come together to make the fifth tribute to the late Cerebre-Arkor, a graphics artist as well as Koron’s brother. This track in particular goes through five orchestral phases, with choirs abound, transitioning into an emotional string and violin section before everything fades out and all we’re left with is a piano. These two musicians have done an amazing job at converging their own talents in a single musical outlet and the emotion dripping from it is palpable.

Mane In Green – Inner Peace | Orchestral

Mane In Green returns with her first solo original of the year, Inner Peace. Inspired by a dream about Fluttershy who finds peace in her own little circle (hence the title), this track is soft, calming and peaceful. Plenty of soft orchestral sounds along with heavenly bells and what sounds like an electric bass guitar. 6 minutes of absolute bliss…

William Anderson – Friendship Report (BGM Recreation by Harmonic Six) | Soundtrack

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I listened to Harmonic Six’s latest release, a recreation of the Friendship Report background music from the first season of MLP:FiM. I really got a nostalgic vibe from it, especially considering how well it was recreated from the ground up. It’s short but sweet, and I hope you also enjoy it.

Your faithful student (I guess?),

Altius Volantis – Sunrise | Soundtrack

Good morning! Sunrise is a track from Altius’ upcoming album Rusty Wings Tales, and the feeling of the morning has been captured perfectly. Soft and slow orchestral elements like the piano as the main instrument really do well to paint a picture of the morning sun, especially when the bells and strings join in without sounding overcrowded or busy. Doesn’t it just wanna make you throw open the curtains and get started on your day?

Lukas Vokrinek – Out of Time | Soundtrack

Time is running out. Lukas Vokrinek’s latest track paints a vivid picture of a situation that demands urgency. The orchestral sounds go through a handful of phases in quick bursts, ultimately building up to a deceptive cadence represented by a faint piano chord. Songs like this are truly powerful.

Kallo Skull – Land of Ember | Soundtrack

Stepping into the Dragon Lands is a dangerous expedition. Land of Ember is a dark and intimidating orchestral piece that takes influence from Indian music with the inclusion of a sitar alongside the familiar orchestral elements, giving it the vibe that you’re really walking through a hot, rocky land where beneath you sits a massive magma pool. That low rumbling percussion is especially menacing…

Aaron Breeze – Theme Song (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Jazz/Orchestral

The introduction that we’re all so familiar with has never sounded so musically inspiring! Pianist Aaron Breeze has taken the Friendship is Magic theme music and combined it with jazz and gospel influences to create a medley of sounds in celebration of season 9 of My Little Pony. What better way to show homage? This rendition of Daniel Ingram’s timeless song shows such a musical proficiency that it becomes hard to believe it started with improvisation. The piece commences with Breeze’s piano, which serves as the cornerstone of the arrangement, accompanied by the embellishments of strings and woodwinds. An electric bass and subtle strokes on a drum set slowly lead the piece into an outburst of soul and funk sounds. The arrangement ends with one face-melting orchestral chorus, and the sophisticated sound of Aaron’s jazziest playing. These types of creations were what YouTube was made for, check it out!

Branrich VanIster – A Diamond At Sea | Soundtrack

A Diamond at Sea is pure serenity. Showcasing Branrich’s familiar jazzy style, the song sets out to depict a scenario of Rarity showing off her graceful beauty on a boat. Nothing gets in the way of her lovely looks. Although the video doesn’t showcase the beautiful art that inspired the song, it’s still a lovely sight to sea. I’ll be here all week.

Jyc Row – Equestria Assemble | Orchestral

Equestria, assemble! Jyc Row’s first track of the year is Equestria Assemble, a hefty orchestral piece inspired by the Avengers. Based on the S9 finale, the song jumps straight into the powerful side of things without letting up, signifying the combined forces of Equestria coming together to stop the evil reigns of Tartarus’ most valued tyrants. An epic piece of imagery requires an equally epic sound to go along with it!

Rarity Advocate – Sinfonia for Klavier | Orchestral/Soundtrack

Rarity Advocate’s first track of the year (and decade, by extention) is finally here! Sinfonia for Klavier is a two part story told through music, with each image depicting a different scenario. The first part of the song solely consists of a harpsicord playing a regal melody fitting of the princesses; they’re seen waking up in bed in the morning. The track then quickly fading out into a much softer piano part that shows an image of Luna and Starlight Glimmer sitting across from one another over some tea. They’ve shown you don’t need words to get a good image in your head!
