Friendship Symphonies – A War Yet To Come | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 22 December 2016.

After a few collaborations between Cainbow Rrash and one half of A Symphony of Two, here now comes a completely different style of orchestral, produced by Cainbow alongside the full double of ASoT. Compared to their relatively light tracks, this piece is heavy, strong, and powerful as it steadily grows more epic over time. Inspired by the feel given off by a lot of Hans Zimmer’s music, the epic nature absolutely brings this across. The foreboding atmosphere perfectly represents the impending march of the Changelings, and this is certainly one of my favourite collaborations these guys have done so far.

WoodLore – My Sweet Peace (Jyc Row Remix) | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 23 December 2016.

My Sweet Peace is one of WoodLore’s most celebrated tracks, and here Jyc Row has taken it and turned it into an orchestral epic. 6 minutes in length, it builds through the vocals and some well placed orchestral elements, giving way to some more powerful vocal sounds and strings, and that trademark celtic feel of Jyc’s tracks. A really awesome reinterpretation, it’s definitely worth giving a listen!

A Symphony Of Two & CainbowRrash – A Place That Feels Like Home | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 15 December 2016.

Already another orchestral collaboration from one half of A Symphony Of Two and CainbowRrash, this is by no means a bad thing. Evidently these two work well together, which is shown by this lovely piece which has a distinctly springtime feel to it. Carried heavily by piano, and punctuated by some light bells, it has some great uplifting strings also.

A Symphony Of Two & CainbowRrash – Little Peeks | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 8 December 2016.

A new series of orchestral productions, A Symphony of Friendship is a series of collaborations between CainbowRrash and Tom, one half of A Symphony Of Two. This piece, Little Peeks focuses on the lighter side of Fallout Equestria character Little Pip. With a mix of flute, strings, oboe and more, this is definitely a pretty whimsical piece, and well worth a listen!

Nicolas Dominique – Lost Symphony | Ambient

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 5 December 2016.

Some more new music from Nicolas Dominique with something a little more pared down from his usual releases. Throughout the track is some very well composed cello which takes center stage, playing some haunting melodies. The track is otherwise held together by a variety of electronic sounds that help to create an ambient and mysterious feel to the whole track.

Elias Frost – Welcome to Pegasopolis | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 5 December 2016

A bit of a change from the metal and dark orchestral pieces he normally puts out, Elias shows his lighter side here with a strong uplifting orchestral piece meant to act as a sort of anthem for the pegasus race. I do quite like Elias’ orchestral works and this one is no different with a strong mix of instrumentals from trumpet-like sounds to crisp strings and some marching-style percussive elements as well. Definitely worth a listen if you want to celebrate the power of the pegasus!

Jyc Row – To Cloudsdale! | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 5 December 2016.

Jyc Row is back again with a new orchestral track, and this is certainly one of his more uplifting ones! With a strong happy vibe to it, pushed mostly by the bright strings throughout the track, it also features his trademark strong percussive influence and some celtic flavour towards the end that still manages to fit in quite well. Drawing inspiration from the artwork above, it’s easy to hear the influence shine through as Jyc takes us on a trip to cloudsdale.

Frozen Night – Chrysalis Metamorphosis | Orchestral Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 30 November 2016.

I have just been loving Frozen Night’s releases recently. It feels like they’ve crossed that precipice into producing consistently high quality works. This one is no different, an 8 minute orchestral metal epic about Queen Chrysalis. It slides between heavy, powerful metal sections and more serene, light, almost ambient sections as well. The build in power around 4 minutes in is especially enjoyable to listen to. Definitely an awesome piece of work from Frozen, and well worth a listen.

[HMC] CainbowRrash – Requiem For Melodic | Orchestral

Earlier this year, we learned of MelodicPony’s unfortunate passing. It was around this time that CainbowRrash started discovering the fandom, including Melodic’s channel. So in tribute, they’ve created this short but sweet piece, seemingly emulating Melodic’s style by using motifs from the show’s soundtrack and BGM. It’s also available on the recently released HMC Vol. 1 album.

A Symphony Of Two – Pride | Orchestral

Perhaps acting as a solemn yet valiant theme for the griffons, this new piece from A Symphony Of Two conveys both strength and wisdom through an amazing progression making wonderful use of winds and strings instruments alike. Embodying Pride and musical wonder, this track is another gem in the streak of awesome releases from this definitely very successful duo!
