And now for something a little different from ModernBard’s usual style of music – he’s moved away from electronic into the realm of orchestral and done a great job of it too. Short but sweet, this piece captures the majesty of flying and of soaring high in the sky.

BassPon3 – Flown Afar | Hands-Up
🙌 DID 🙌 SOMEONE 🙌 SAY 🙌 HANDS 🙌 UP? 🙌
Another genre we don’t see very often, hands-up seems to be Basspon3’s speciality. This track sticks to a relatively simple yet always effective 4-chord pattern with some nice punchy kicks and offbeat bass topped with delightful saw synth melodies.
[P@D] R3CTIFIER – Break the Silence VIP | Dubstep
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 8 March 2018.
The original Break The Silence was a great melodic electro track, but R3CTIFIER’s now re-done it with a much heavier coat of paint. The gorgeous Fluttershy vocal chops build up to the drop, which is focused around some aggressive dubstep sound design, whilst the break has some nice use of piano and lower pitched vocals.
[P@D] Radiarc – Bury Me | Orchestral
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 8 March 2018.
Radiarc’s dark orchestral works continue with this thoroughly captivating piece that carries some heavy weight to it. The track is about Twilight’s struggle with her own immortality, and the effect that the mortality of her friends has on both her and them. There’s some lovely use of guitar and percussion alongside excellent vocal choir sounds and it’s definitely a piece worth listening to.
Vivix – Trrrrixie! | Indie
While it could do with a little polishing up, this is a really neat little indie track from Vivix, bringing back a genre we don’t see very often round here! But anyway, music production is a craft that takes a while to master, and the focus here should instead be on Vivix’s great guitar playing and the lyrics about everyone’s favourite villain redeemed spellcaster.
[P@D] ThatMusicBrony – Let Me Love You | Electropop
One of the best tracks coming from the recent P@D album Rebirth, ThatMusicBrony delight us with some twenty one pilots kinda feeling track with some really cute and romantic lyrics! The instrumental is simply divine, a true treat with amazing synth work and the drums are really well performed. Meanwhile we have the amazing vocals, with TMB’s amazing voice singing his well-written lyrics! Really a treat for Electropop fans, if you are into twenty one pilots, I really suggest give this a listens!
Download Rebirth on bandcamp (you know, that promotional paragraph that I shouldn’t do but I do anyways because the album was awesome and you should grab it) and if you are rich buy it to support the amazing artists!
[P@D] Frozen Night – Dragonfire | Epic Orchestral
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 7 March 2018.
Frozen Night’s orchestral works are easily some of my favourite in the fandom, and I especially enjoy it when he branches out into interesting directions with it. That’s exactly what’s been done here, with some lovely use of eastern-influenced sounds to create a bit of a different atmosphere to his usual works. The second half of the track is a little more conventional, but is suitably epic as it rises to a fantastic crescendo.
[P@D] Crusader! – Home is Where Your Friends Are | Pop Rock
This treasure of a track written for the new Ponies at Dawn album is a showcase of Crusader!’s talent and expertise in multiple styles of rock music. Perfectly capturing the theme of MLP, Home is Where Your Friends Are describes how those closest to us are what brings us out of our troubles and hard times. Starting out soft and only acoustic, the track builds through a synth-infused poppy bridge that leads into an uptempo, punky section interchanging seamlessly to convey the energy that our friends truly bring to us. Emotional, uplifting, and well-crafted, Crusader! offers a one-of-a-kind track that everyone can enjoy!
Nicolas Dominique – The Floating World | Chillout
Here’s an artist that has been on fire as of late! Nicolas Dominique keeps the hits coming as he brings us this exhilarating track from his upcoming EP. The Floating World is the musical equivalent of going on a chilled out adventure in a beautiful fairy tale land – the track is exciting, but without tension. A catchy, somewhat uptempo beat reels you in and the ambience takes you away to Dominique’s fantasy world!
[P@D] PrinceWhateverer – This Duality (feat. Frozen Night & Sable Symphony) | Metal
In a trifecta of talent, the royal metal-head Prince Whateverer once again teams up with Sable Symphony and this time with orchestral mastermind Frozen Night to bring us this heavy jam, featured on the new compilation album Ponies at Dawn – Rebirth. Describing the harsh contrast of his own perfect, fantasy world and his less-than-perfect reality, Whateverer provides his top-notch vocals and guitar licks accompanied by Sable Symphony’s always on-point harmonies. In a great surprise, Frozen Night features in this track with his symphonic elements adding an incredible and epic twist on PW’s signature metal style.
