[P@D] Phoxi – Starlight Ataraxia / 174UDSI – To A New World (feat. GloryOfTheRainWings) | House

Phoxi here is a relatively fresh face to the fandom, but they’ve made themself known in certain circles already (you may remember Panic Display). Starlight Ataraxia is a future house song with great sound design and plenty of GlimGlam for those of you inclined towards reformed villain pones.

14UDSI and GloryOfTheRainWings are no strangers to collaborating with each other; they’ve done songs together on previous compilation albums. An electro house track with trancey synths and stellar vocals, this is one of my favourites from 174UDSI to date. Keep up the great work!

[P@D] Luna Ticks – Complication | Punk Rock

A song for Berry Punch: DRINK! Francis Vace and Quicksilver join forces once again for another awesome Luna Ticks song. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – they’re one of my favourite brony collab projects ever, and I envy everyone who will get to see them perform at ROTLCon this November! Anyway, check out this song for some awesome high-speed punk rock!

Silver Note – Unicorns and Soundwaves | Album | Rock / Electronic

Compiling nearly 2 years’ worth of his brony music, Silver Note has just released his first ever album. After the break I’ll take a look at each track and give you a full rundown of it, going from his oldest songs to his newest!

[P@D] Replacer – Some Dumb Ideas | Jazz Fusion

Replacer has brought us another track that I can only describe as…”a Replacer track”. Seriously, his stuff is always really unique and different from anything else on the Ponies At Dawn albums, and they’re always outstanding (and I hope that genre tag is somewhat accurate)! There seems to be a nice little reference to his previous song In Defence of Madness in there too. See if you can spot it! 😉

[P@D] ThatMusicBrony – Rejected / Totalspark – Aurora Borealis VIP | Future Bass

A couple of future bass tracks from the new P@D album to fill your afternoon. First up, another one from ThatMusicBrony, who featured on Start Again but this time brings a solo track to the table. This song about Trixie is top-notch, comparable to the likes of San Holo and similar future bass artists.

And of course, Totalspark gives us a track in his usu- wait, he did vocals on this? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s a first! It’s great to hear Sparky singing on this song, the vocals fit the chill nature of it, and the piano sounds amazing.

[P@D] Hydra – Nox / Progressive Element – Robot Pony | Future Garage / Neurofunk

As usual, Hydra brings something different to P@D with an ultra-smooth future garage track heavily influenced by Direct. With high-quality percussion, and even some epic orchestral strings in the break, this groovy track is great to lose yourself in.

And next, Progressive Element shows his versatility after creating some prog house bangers for the last two P@D albums by going for a completely different style. This track is a heavy and dark neurofunk track that really shows what Prog can do when he puts his mind to it, creating a deep and foreboding post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

[P@D] Jastrian & Synthis – Ethereal / DJ RedSky – Luminescence | Chillout

Let’s take an easy start to Sunday morning with a couple of chillout songs from Awakening. First up is Ethereal, which combines Jastrian’s composition skills with Synthis’s awesome sound design. Fluttershy music is the best chill music! c:

Next up, a chill midtempo song with a tropical house feel to it; DJ RedSky’s contribution to the album is very relaxing and makes great use of simple but effective sounds. RedSky just keeps on improving with every song they make, and it certainly shows here!

[P@D] Dragonal & Rockin’Brony – Transgressions (feat. PrinceWhateverer) / SDreamExplorerS – The Swarm (feat. Metal Core Pony & Kitchen Warrior) | Metal

First up in this little section of more hardcore rock is Dragonal and Rockin’ Brony’s metalcore piece featuring vocals from the one and only PrinceWhateverer! An epic re-telling of the season 5 finale and the battle between Twilight and Starlight, this sure takes me back to my days of teenage angst…so much gentle aggression…

Following up with an even heavier piece is Soul “Dream Explorer” Strings, with some help from Metal Core pony and Kitchen Warrior. Also inspired by the season 5 finale, albeit a different part of it to the previous track, this melodic death metal song focuses on the concept of Chrysalis and her army taking over Equestria. Metal is rather fitting for Cheeselegs if you ask me!

[P@D] Ryazan – Faster & Higher / fractilx – Little Uproar | Hardcore

Ryazan seems to be a regular on the P@D albums nowadays, and with good reason! This hardcore (forgive me, I don’t know the specific type) song sits at a speedy 190bpm – one of the fastest-paced tracks on the album. And of course, who better to dedicate a  F A S T  song to than Rainbow Dash?

Another major hardcore artist that’s made their way regularly onto P@D albums is fractilx, this time bringing us a UK hardcore song for Spike. As well as featuring on Awakening, this is part of their upcoming Love Tales EP…we’ll have to keep an eye out for that one 😉

[P@D] AJ Young – Calamity / L.M. – Eve | Dubstep

AJ Young seems to step up their game every time they make a new song. Their latest piece wouldn’t feel out of place among some of Skrillex and Kill The Noise’s older songs; great sound design and clean mixing really make this song stand out as a quality dubstep track.

Something just as hard-hitting but really melodic at the same time – L.M. makes what I believe to be his debut P@D appearance with Eve. This song has both heavy growls and strong melodies, and sits at over 7 minutes long, as the longest track on the album, and to me, one of the best.
