Hello, something else unexpected! Until now, The Midnight Musician has only released electronic music, but it seems he wanted to take a try at some rock music; and so, this rather cute pop rock track came to be. all the parts (bar the drums) are performed by TMM himself, and are sung from Button Mash’s point of view. Nice work TMM, always nice to see musicians branching out and trying something completely new!
Pop
[P@D] Crystal Slave – Falter | Electro-Pop
NB: The original video was deleted, the above is an archive re-upload.
One of the more unique tracks from Voyager, this song takes inspiration from the storyline of Rainbow Dash joining the Wonderbolts, and Crystal Slave’s voice really brings the emotion in his lyrics to life. It’s also somewhat rare to see a 3/4 time song, so that’s cool too.
[P@D] Flittzy – Someday | Electro Pop
Hot off the heels of his last song, we have Flittzy’s Ponies At Dawn song! An upbeat song about Scootaloo with the message to keep exploring – what could be more perfect for an album entitled Voyager?
[P@D] Aurelleah – Warm Winds (ft. Wubcake) | Orchestral Pop
Shipping time! A slight change of direction from Aurelleah’s usual music, and a welcome return to hearing some of his vocals. But of course, a love song is even better as a duet, so Wubcake takes the part of Marble Pie as her and Big Mac reminisce over meeting. How cute.
Ponies At Dawn – Voyager | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre
Here it is, what’s bound to be the best Ponies At Dawn album yet. With each new album comes both a new selection of artists as well as some of the great ones who have been around for a while – something that is in my opinion the best balance when compiling brony music.
The album is available completely for free on Bandcamp, or you pay whatever amount you wish for it. You can expect to see many of the songs from it posted on the site in the coming days and weeks!
Flittzy – Take A Chance | Acoustic Pop
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 5 October 2016.
Flittzy has been around for a bit, but this is their first appearance on the site under said alias, previously known as ChickenSteve. Here he’s released a pop rock style track where the centerpiece is absolutely his vocals, which are really the main thing here that make the song really fun to listen to – definitely worth a listen if you like upbeat pop-y rock stuff.
Little Jester – Just For You | Lounge?
In a style that seems to be unique to said artist, Little Jester has a new song just for us…heh… This soft piano-driven piece is a nice and relaxing piece, with sort of jazz/lounge influences and a chord progression that reminds me of certain pop songs from the 70s and 80s. Don’t ask which ones, I’m just reminded vaguely of them :L
4everfreebrony – Bound With Time | Pop-Rock
Our inbox seems to have been full of 4everfreebrony recently (hint hint, more to come). Here’s a new song from him touching on the topic of Twilight and immortality, similar to Stay, his first song released since his return home. Those two are also due to be featured on an album he’s working on, so that’s definitely something to look forward to!
Tomato.Tuesdays – Out On My Own (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Indie Pop
Reborn under a new alias, a certain beloved singer from the community comes back with a wonderful cover of the very emotional Out On My Own, using a very singular vocal style (see Lightroom for more), reminiscing of some Classic Rock songs of old. Sub for more and to show your support!
Jastrian & FritzyBeat – Ghostie | Electro-Pop
You know it when incredible talents blend to create the perfect fusion, an alchemy resulting in something unique and stunning that is nothing short of magical. Known for an unique sensitivity to sounds and making emotional masterpieces, Jastrian teamed up with sparkling vocalist FritzyBeat who we don’t need to present anymore, to turn into reality a powerful story involving Pinkie and her character depth, and the concept of solitude that is by no way meant to be a bad thing. The result shines with beauty, force, and the power of positivity, along emotion-inducing synths, resonating piano notes, and masterful vocals.
