Combining Direct Current’s normally chill electronic style and Crusader’s pop-punk vocals, we get this, a collab I honestly didn’t expect to see any time soon! It’s pretty cute though, and a nice way to end the regular posting for today.
Pop
Direct Current – Fade | Pop
A sort of alternative-indie-pop piece from Direct Current to finish the day, with what I believe is his vocal debut! And as with me when I first tried singing on my own songs, it was pitch correction to the rescue. This two halves of this piece are sung from the perspectives of Shining Armor and Candance respectively; that duality is always a nice touch.
Zephysonas – Vinyl Class | Orchestral Pop
I don’t even know what to call this, but it’s definitely one of the more unique songs I’ve seen in the past couple of weeks! Go take a listen to this new song from Zephysonas which seems to be orchestral based around rock and pop patterns and structures.
Flak – Walls | Electronic
If you’re all about that vocoded pony pop music, here’s an artist you’d do well to check out! Flak brings us a Luna themed vocal composition driven by a syncopated dance beat and bright melodies. Also some cool vocal chopping in there, heck yeah 🙂
Quicksilver – Sun N Moon | Pop Rock
Not slowing for even a second after just releasing an incredible seven track EP, Quicksilver is back with a pony parody of Katy Perry’s Hot N Cold featuring the celestial diarchs of Equestria. Check it out for some upbeat pop drums, bright guitar, and Quicksilver’s awesome vocals. YEAH!
Crystal Slave – All I Have (feat. Jonah Crandall) | Electro-Pop
NB: The original video was deleted, the above is an archive re-upload.
Crystal Slave aka ReuelBrony is back with a new track and this time it’s a duet with his friend Jonah Crandall! Reflecting on a pegasus’ freedom and in particular on the depth of the rainbow-colored daredevil, this beautiful duet is quite the perfect union of vocal talents as the voices seem to blend together seamlessly.
Rusty Thorsell – Void | Indie Pop
Rusty’s always been pulling his musique in quite original and unique directions, and this much welcomed Indie Pop track is no exception, refreshing with its unusual genre, impressing with its progressive vocal styles of much skill, and even providing a powerful message that is as heartfelt as it can be relatable. Go give Rusty props and hugs in the comment section!
The Shake Ups In Ponyville – Cupcake Versus Muffin | Pop Rock
The Shake Ups have another song from their album ROCK CANDY for us. Known for their fun “power pop” songs, this one is no exception, and attempts to tackle the age old question of “cupcake or muffin?” I say, why not both?!
Crystal Slave – Staying Here Tonight | Electro-Pop
NB: The original video was deleted, the above is an archive re-upload.
Crystal Slave brings us a winter song…in June. Welp, it’s about as accurate as Discovery Family’s scheduling. Regardless, this song has a delightful Owl City vibe to it, and reminds me of a certain other winter-themed song about Pinkie…Coincidence? Probably.
Cosmic Kingdoms – Fashion Weak | Noise Pop
Originally released under Voltage’s solo name with Starlite as a featuring vocalist, Fashion Weak has been reworked by Cosmic Kingdoms for a new release. With a great little driving guitar riff and spliced vocals, all I have left to say is #BackItUp!
