Well here we are! The resident ‘mega collab’ from the recent LDB album is a phenomenal work of blues music (something we don’t get too often in the fandom) from Spectra and Liquid Harmony, featuring Flak on vocals, Dragonal on lead guitar and Zephysonas on saxophone. This track is something a bit different from Spectra especially, but he’s tried on many different hats, and they all seem to fit just as well. Definitely one of my personal favourites from the album, make sure to check it out!
Rock
[LDB] Sasha Lace – Love and Admiration (feat. Andante Skie) [covering SGaP] | Soft Rock
Taking on one of the songs by the legendary SoGreatAndPowerful, we have Sasha Lace and Andante Skie’s contribution to the new Lycan Dese Beats album. This soft rock cover features some wonderful lead guitar work and puts a rather different spin on the original version while keeping plenty of the original feel of it.
Daniel Ingram – Luna’s Future (Frozen Night Remix) | Symphonic Metal
Perhaps more of a new arrangement than a remix, but still definitely pretty cool, this version of Luna’s Future by Frozen Night is a 3-phase symphonic metal track. Small phases, but still with tempo changes and the sense of different levels of pace between them, interesting stuff!
StealingShad3Z – Hasbro Claimed Rights To This Song Title (feat. Francis Vace) | Pop-Punk
It’s one thing to make a parody of a particular song, another to parody stereotypical lyrics of a genre itself and write a tongue in cheek song about an issue the entire fandom will encounter from time to time. Catch this pop-punk track about Shady’s love/hate relationship with Hasbro, featuring Francis Vace on additional vox!
Silver Note – Eastward | Alternative Rock
Inspired by a fanfic series that’s linked in the video description, Silver Note crafts an elegant tribute track featuring both beautiful rock instrumentation and his skillful vocals.
[LDB] Francis Vace – Behind Those Eyes / Acouste Wholenote & SlightlyAmiss – So Far Away | Soft Rock
Continuing the LDB train with some grouped posts, we have a cover from Francis Vace of one of the songs on the first LDB album! This soft rock version puts a whole new spin on Behind Those Eyes like no remix could ever do, and those high notes are glorious!
And now we return to the 90s/early 00s again for a soft/alt rock song from Acouste and SlightlyAmiss. Filled aplenty with acoustic and clean electric guitars, and a good old bit of suggested shipping give this song a downbeat but emotional vibe. All the feels.
[LDB] Acouste Wholenote – Standing Still | Punk Rock
More LDB music! This time we’ve got a punk rock song (with a somewhat ironic title) about Rainbow Dash from Acouste Wholenote, one of our favourite 90s music ponies. Remember to check out the whole album for more awesome songs!
[LDB] StealingShad3Z – When the Tower is Quiet | Soft Rock
Now for some more rock from the LDB album! I’m not familiar at all with the Fallout: Equestria story at all, but this song is still a cute soft rock love song sung from Homage’s point to view to LittlePip. Go check it out for feeeels.
[LDB] Reverbrony – Perfect Storm | Progressive Metal
The first of many from the new Lycan Dese Beats album, Reverbrony’s back at it again with a song of epic proportions. Echoey clean guitars build up this song to the point of lightning stike, very apt for Dashie chasing storms.
Lycan Dese Beats – Beats Me 2! | Album | Multi-Genre
Just over a year after the release of their first compilation album, Beats Me, Lycan Dese Beats has released a new album, consisting of entirely new and exclusive songs by the musicians they usually feature on their show. Similar to the Ponies at Dawn albums, this album offers songs from a grand variety of artists, however, this album has a greater non-electronic influence that you might expect, perhaps more all-rounded.
You can download this from Bandcamp for any given price, and we’ll be featuring songs from the album as they’re released with an [LDB] label in the post titles.
