Here’s one for the metalhead readers! This new Daybreaker-themed piece by two of the greatest metal musicians currently doing it is heavy on the riffs, with some killer and equally-impressive guitar solos by Osoch. The percussion sounds as good as any Reverbrony track and the Meshuggah influence, especially during the breakdowns, is palpable. This ain’t one to miss for any djent fans!
Rock
Equestria Electric Symphony Orchestra – Lilac Sky | Blues
Every time Moon Flame from Equestria Electric Symphony Orchestra releases a new song, we get a new chance to partake in cuddly times with one of our beloved ponies. Lilac Sky is dedicated to Starlight and expresses much love, with tender vocals and lyrics, as well as a cute and refined instrumental giving off fitting romantic vibes. Isn’t it great when we can relate to what other fans are expressing with their fan songs? Never stop showing your love to ponies… and to lovely musicians like Moon Flame!
The Beatle Bronies – Magical Mystery Cure | Classic Rock
After a three-year hiatus, The Beatle Bronies are finally back, this time with new drummer Wootmaster! This time, they bring a great new parody (one that lends itself way too easily to the original) named the controversial but beloved season 3 finale of the same name. The authenticity to the Beatles’ sound is on-point here and it should be enough to please any longtime Beatle Bronies fan!
Radiarc – Loose | Post-Rock
Quite a cathartic song this one is! Taking musical inspiration from Chris Christodoulou and his Risk of Rain soundtrack, this is some of the most unique post-rock I’ve ever heard. From saxophone to turntable scratches, this track lifts elements from all over the musical spectrum. The drums are punchy and attention-grabbing without being “epic,” and the breaks throughout (featuring some heavenly vocal samples and strings) are just lovely. Clearly, this was a very important track for Radiarc to release, judging by the description and the song itself, so go show him some love!
EnergyTone – Радость (Album version) | Country Rock
EnergyTone delivers a beautiful rock song, with nice country influences, themed around Pinkie Pie. The song starts of with a wonderfully upbeat intro and leads into EnergyTone’s beautiful lyrics about how Pinkie Pie brightens up his life. The soft contrast between the acoustic and electric guitars is a nice touch in this song, and I love the little synth accents. Even if you can’t understand Russian, the tone of Energytone’s voice really conveys the thoughts well and brings the whole song together.
Francis Vace – Open Skies (Covering EnsionD & Evdog) | Third Wave Ska / Chiptune
Covering one of the very best classics of P@D, Francis Vace gives to the amazing EDM anthem his classic ska vibes with the funny bass and the typical vocal performance of Vace! You did great here Vace, keep doing your thing!
Reverbrony – Impending Doom | Progressive Metal
Reverbrony’s progressive pieces are always a pure delight, and this one, like many others, feels just like it’s telling a story! The dark atmosphere, and the various elements coming in throughout the song, make for a much blissful and progressive experience flavored with apocalyptic omens, desert landscapes, and heavy guitar riffs. Fight the end of the world with the power of rock music!
Metal Core Pony – Security | Metalcore
This Metalcore treat has just the perfect vibes to transcribe that part of Trixie’s past and character depth, blasting both harsh and soft vocals along a blissful and emotional instrumental. Partaking in the melodies, the emotions, the sound of the guitars and the drums… we sympathize in harmony and send our love to Trixie, for she may be feeling it!
D1SCORDANT – Rex Autem Umbra | Metal
At every new release from D1SCORDANT you just know you can expect gritty guitars, tasty bass, and garage drums for a blissful experience smelling like rusty amps and hardened fingers. This new Metal track straight from the musician’s den is themed around King Sombra and we’ll never get enough of that fitting heaviness and relentlessness, reflecting the evil king’s wrath and thirst for conquest. Another delightful dark gem from D1SCORDANT!
Quicksilver – Best Friends Until the End of Time (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Hard Rock
After returning to pony music, Quicksilver has been extremely active with both originals and some great covers, like this one! The vocals are the original ones, but Quicksilver’s guitar tones are as killer as ever and the percussion in the second verse is incredibly fresh. The video includes footage from this past BronyCon, very fitting of the original theme of the song! Take a listen if you’re into all-around solid show song covers.
