Ethan Toavs – Odysseys | Orchestral

There’s always been a plethora of great orchestral talent in this fandom and Ethan Toavs shows off his composition skills in this epic piece. There’s an urgency to the beginning of the track which grows and changes as more instruments are added. The dangerous feel turns into a pretty, softer section while always maintaining a spacing that feels like a big, open landscape, so it’s easy to think of the new G5 characters venturing on their own “Odysseys”!

rawrity – PLATONIC | Pop

rawrity’s tracks are an aural sensation and a half! “PLATONIC” has many fascinating qualities to keep the listener stimulated and amazed. rawrity incorporates her famous pony chops, pulsating instruments, slower quieter sections encased in hot upbeat sections, intoxicating vocals, and so much more to create a sound blend that sets an optimistic and reflective tone as the protagonist gets over a lost relationship and misses friendship.

General Mumble – Be Still | Electronic/Dance

General Mumble’s “Be Still” is a creative jaunt of spooky, funky fun, with just a touch of the creepy that will have you bobbing your mane and stepping your hooves. Perfect for any Nightmare Night gathering, the piece really catches the mood of the season.

The atmosphere is dramatic and while the music is upbeat the dichotomy between the upbeat tone, the unsettling undertones and the dark shift in lyrics in the second act are truly to die for.

Pagan Pegasus – Earth Pony Envy | Electro Swing / Drumstep / Drum & Bass

Pagan Pegasus is no stranger to hard-hitting tracks, and this one is no exception.

Right from the start you hear the piano run and vocal samples and you know you’re in for a treat that only builds from there. The drop in this track hits hard, and just when you think it couldn’t get any better, you get an excellent blend of contextual vocal samples taken straight from G5, the tempo goes double-time and hits twice as hard! This is definitely worth a listen, if for no other reason than the fantastic blending of genres that make up “Earth Pony Envy”. You’ll find yourself headbanging along to the beat and maybe gain a new understanding about why Posey Bloom really doesn’t like magic.

Blurain – The Remaining Issue (The End) | Alt. Rock

Blurain blesses our ears once again with some Rock! This – originally unreleased – song talks about a subject that gathered quite some tears across our community: the last episode of MLP:FiM. Blurain surprised me by being able to have a dynamic, fast-paced song that also made my eyes watery! But in the end, he still reminds us that the most important is to remember the good times we had. So embark on a song that will bring you all the memories you had thanks to this fandom, while remembering you that, no matter what, the magic of friendship will never fade.

Violight – Becoming Popular (covering Daniel Ingram & Kazumi Evans) | Pop

We probably don’t feature enough purely vocal covers, so this is a nice welcome addition to our usual features. Violight’s cover of Rarity’s solo song Becoming Popular is delightful with a bit of a softer touch than the original. She even handles the harmony line fabulously!

Japkozjad – Party Tonight (feat. FalafelJake) | Progressive House

Japkozjad definitely knows how to put on a show, and that’s what he demonstrated with his last release! The energetic rhythm combined with the vocals of FalafelJake gave me the want – or should I say the need! – to bob my head and move in rhythm to the beat of that music. Add that to the big drops that song gives us, and you have just what’s needed to dance. So put on this track and join us on the dancefloor!

Daniel Ingram – Legend You Are Meant to Be (Sylvver Remix) | Future House

Sylvver has shown his talent of creating fabulous remixes already, but this time he is tackling his first remix from one of the show’s songs with Equestria Girls’ “Legend You Are Meant To Be”. The instruments are introduced slowly piece by piece, familiarising the listener with the ensemble in the build up to the refrain with Sylvver’s softer bouncy style. The song is also slowed down a bit compared to the original, making the vocals more impactful, more inviting to sing along to and giving the whole track more time to unfold its parts. Especially with the tempo adaption this remix will quickly engrain itself into your musical memory, so give it a listen!
