FruityFusion – SPELL_FAIL | Midtempo

After long period of writer’s block and a time of producing non-pony music, FruityFusion returns with this amazing track (and other two, Going For A Fly and DEADPON3)! SPELL_FAIL is really a mechanical and industrial feeling track, with robotic synths, synthetic feeling drums and catchy melodies. Also, the sampling work is pretty well done! FruityFusion did a great job on this track, the bassline and synthline, and the IDM-style drums, it’s all great. Keep up the good work!

Filly in the Box – Then Come Ice | Dubstep

Filly in the Box brings us this wonderful chilled out song featuring this wonderful winter theme. The intro has this really cool atmosphere to it and a really interesting synth lead. The drops are full of wonderful glitchy sound design and I really like the small changes that happen in the second drop. If you’re up for some fairly unique music this is one to check out.

Daniel Ingram – Open Up Your Eyes (One Track Mind Remix) | Electro House

Editor’s note: The movie’s out pretty much everywhere now, so we’re going to stop spoiler alerts on songs that relate to it!

First remix of the song! And it’s from one of the most prolific producers in the fandom. One Track Mind is really awesome and makes really experimental tracks, this track is no exception. Distorted and reverbed vocals with really amazing drums using and synths with amazing flavors and textures, One Track Mind put some really uplifting vibes into the best MLP Movie song. Good job OTM, keep up the good work!

An amazing collaboration between the producer MrMehster and the rapper N.Hollow for the amazing compilation album P@D: Anthology!

The bass and the funky vibes are on it! MrMehster knows how to create a good track and N.Hollow’s flow, rap and lyrics are really on point, I love every piece of it! The L-Train – Rainbow (covering Sia) | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 12 November 2017.

The L-Train has thrown his hat into the ring with a cover of Sia’s song from the movie, Rainbow. One of the most fully realised covers I’ve heard of the song so far, the juxtaposition between L-Train’s relatively soft clear vocals with an instrumental that gets pretty energetic works really well. and overall this is a pretty great effort.

TempestShadow – Tribute to Snowdrop | Orchestral

It was only a matter of time before someone named themselves after a movie character, so here’s an original piece from newcomer TempestShadow dedicated to the beloved fanon character Snowdrop. Slow-moving, sweeping string chords are led by a solo flute and choral vocals which interchange and carry the melody throughout the song.

Suskii & DJT – Spooky Ghost Buggos | Dubstep

The folks over at Magnus Records have done it again, with a colab track from Suskii and DJT. “Spooky Ghost Buggos” is solid from start to finish, with fantastic production and some really great piano work on the break. Sampling moments from “Sleepless in Ponyville”, Suskii and DJT capture the spooky night little Scootaloo had, and add their own flavor to it. This track is a treat for those of us who already miss Nightmare Night! 👻 Be sure to grab a download of the track from Magnus Records while you are at it!

Rarity Advocate – Princess Luna Suite | Orchestral Electronic

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 9 November 2017.

After the epic symphony that was Rarity Advocate’s last release, they’re back with a slightly less ambitious but no less awesome piece with Luna as the centrepiece. Some subtle electronic vibes quickly make way for some soaring strings and occasional pulsing bass vibes, and overall this has quite a sombre tone to it, before it gets more uplifting towards the end, perhaps signalling a redemption.

MC-Arch – I Am Alive (Music Video) | Rap / Hip-Hop

We had this song featured as part of Arch’s mixtape of the same name back in July, but while he was out at Nightmare Nights this October, he shot a music video for this song with the help of EJP3films and Step 2 Harmony! Music videos aren’t common at all in the fandom music scene, especially not live action ones, so this is really exciting to see! I could definitely get used to more things like this.
