Burning Halo’s back with his first original song in a year, and what a comeback it is! We’ve got ourselves a fast-paced rock track about Rainbow Dash’s feelings while training to become a Wonderbolt. A fast mare deserves a fast number. As if that wasn’t enough, Halo has also enlisted the help of Rockin’Brony, who provides an amazing guitar solo to make this song a complete package. Welcome back to the fold, Burning Halo! We hope to see more from you in the future.

[ASOS] Shuffle Horse – Night Club | House
Can’t stop the Waffle train. Track 2 from the latest ASOS compilation, this one’s said to be inspired by Equestria’s greatest DJ, Vinyl Scratch. It’s pretty chilled out while still being bouncy enough to dance to. The soulful vocal samples, synths, piano and bass all seem to come together to create the feeling of house music from the 90s mixed with the modern club standards of today. It’s a unique blend and an overall tight track!
Jyc Row – Ember (Wings of Fire) | Soundtrack
The master composer Jyc Row is back, and what better way to return with a short yet epic track about the dragon lord herself, Ember? This one keeps his usual style of epic orchestral sounds along with some Celtic/Nordic influences and what sounds like a distorted guitar for emphasis; a very fitting sound for the dragons of Equestria! She deserves a song that gives the image of her ruling the land and defeating her foes, and this is the perfect one!
Elias Frost – One Last Story | Symphonic Rock
Another song from Elias’ upcoming Stories Vol. III album, Our Last Story is an instrumental number inspired by events in S9, where Twilight has one last story to tell before taking over the princesses’ role as ruler of Equestria. Much like most of his material, it’s a slow burner, though the climax is always satisfying; there’s a myriad of orchestral elements, including an accordion and a choir, but towards the end, it builds up gradually with a drum kit and eventually an electric guitar. Their addition to the track feels completely natural and feels like a great breath of fresh air. Can’t wait for the album!
Ditherer – Further Notes EP | Hip-Hop
Ditherer’s back with another EP, full of songs released earlier this year and a few new cuts too. These 14 tracks are all hip hop stories related to the fandom or the show, such as the opener, S7E03 Unnamed Earth Mare #1, about that one mare working behind the counter at a toy shop in that episode, and track 12, Where We Find Ourselves, a reflective song being rapped from the perspective of a brony in 2013 just after Magical Mystery Cure had aired. Of course, he’s not alone here, as many songs feature familiar guests such as Steryotype and Hay Tea as producers, plus the vocal talents of ZD, MC Arch and ShobieShy. If you love hip hop with stories and non-stop flow, this’ll be the EP for you!
Vylet Pony – Beauty Lies | R&B
Vylet has to be one of the most prolific musicians in the fandom. There’s just no stopping her, is there? Track 16 from her latest album Love Letters: Colourless, it carries the signature sound of the album: somber keyboard notes with a gentle drum beat carrying Vylet’s beautiful voice and harmonies alongside chopped Rainbow Dash vocal samples. The faint noise in the background reminds me of the sound of falling rain, which definitely fits the mood of the song. Sometimes life doesn’t go exactly as you planned, and can often take a turn for the worse. This is an honest number that just oozes emotion.
Likonan – The MLP 2019 Re-remixes EP | Album | Electronica
It’s always nice when an old name in the fandom comes back. For those of you who don’t know, Likonan is a music producer who got his start in 2011 when the brony fandom was still in its infancy. His music primarily focused on MLP between 2011 and 2013. After being in the shadows for so long, he’s finally come back with an album full of remastered electronic remixes of popular MLP fan tunes from artists such as WoodenToaster and NotACleverPony! Two of the biggest stand-out tracks are the revamped version of his interpretation of For The New Lunar Replublic and a brand new remix of A Kirin Tale to close out the album. The Kirin Tale remix in particular is a beautifully crafted and fast-paced Eurobeat remix, chosen as the last and freshest track to send off the album as well as the show. FTNLR 2019 is a newer interpretation of the NotACleverPony classic in a drum n’ bass style, giving a fresh take on the old number. Overall, this is a pretty solid collection of remixes and originals, and a great tribute to the show. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also made an emotional 6-part video series chronicling his time with the brony fandom with each song. Likonan is very much welcome back in the herd with should he choose to come back fully!
[ASOS] Paloris – A Complete Breakfast | Chillout
Yet another ASoS: Waffle track; this time it’s Paloris with track 22 (the second of their two submissions to the album), A Complete Breakfast! Fitting name; this could easily be a good piece of music to start the day with, whether you’re waking up and eating breakfast or walking down the street in the morning. It starts out with typical sounds you’d expect to hear in the morning, such as a clock ticking and the distant chirping of birds, all set to a chilled beat consisting of a soft xylophone melody, a bitcrushed synth melody (which really reminds me of the GameCube menu theme, oddly enough) and neatly placed drum samples, some of which were made from Paloris’ mouth! Hopefully this will become a great addition to your morning routine.
Tw3Lv3 – Old Vibes | Lo-fi
If Tw3Lv3 was capable of producing anything bad, I don’t know what I’d do. Once again, he’s made an enjoyable lo-fi beat with a vintage sample, only this time with the addition of 8-bit chiptune sounds! Coupled with footage of the fantastic 2011 fangame Story of the Blanks as a visual, it makes for a great and nostalgic listening experience. Tw3Lv3 wants there to be more lo-fi music in the fandom, and if it sounds like this, then I’m on board!
Toby Macarony – Silver Zoom | Electronica
Toby’s back, with another one of his unique genre-defying tunes! Starting out with just a catchy bassline, it quickly grows into an equally catchy and bouncy banger with cheery synths and a quick pace, interspersed with emotional echo-y stabs and strong, arpeggiated keyboard sounds. Here’s a challenge: see how long you can last in a staring contest with the titular character, Silver Zoom. Bet you can’t beat him! *squee*
