Lukas Vokrinek – A Battle in Time | Orchestral

An epic composition done by Lukas Vokrinek! Written about the “fight” between Starlight and Twilight, this piece has a great production value! I love how all the instruments were performed, we even can hear a guitar riff in the song that reminds me a bit of shoegazing style music! Keep up the good work Lukas!

Sky Runner – Fade Away | Drum & Bass

If I was to make a list of songs that make me feel like I’m away from civilization and relaxing with nature all around me, this song would be one of the first on that list. Sky Runner has done an amazing job of combining the smooth beats with an emotional, natural atmosphere to create a beautiful DnB track. The Flutterchops help refine the already serene arrangement and add a calming depth. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go find a waterfall to fall asleep next to as I let all my problems just Fade Away.

Przewalski’s Ponies x Adam Sporka – Dutch Tune (For Ember) (feat. Kirya) | Acoustic Chiptune

Yeah you read the title correctly – it’s acoustic chiptune! Adding classical music components to the original chiptune track, the talented members of Przewalski’s Ponies create an amazingly unique cover of the already exciting track. The crew put a new, exciting beat consisting of bass, tambourine, and percussion under the original Atari track with crazy acoustic riffs, an organ, and even a balalaika for a truly one-of-a-kind instrumental!

Straight From The Heart – Somethings Coming (Herd of Us) | Hip-Hop

Warning: Profanity. Quite a lot of it.

This track was a big collaboration project among several members of the brony hip-hop community. Showing that they take pride in their art, the group collectively known as “Straight from the Heart” uses this debut track to welcome all like-minded producers to their familial and always helpful musical community. Something’s Coming uses a great backing track and beat to support the excellent and diverse flow of each rapper on the track. With a broad display of talent and refreshing revival of brony hip-hop, there’s definitely a lot to be excited about for the future of the genre within the fandom!

Ponysphere & Secret Metal – She’s all mine | Hard Rock

Warning: Some swearing and implied violence in this track!

Taking influence from early, violent fanfics, She’s All Mine is a great piece of hard rock fan music. Achieving a very classic rock sound via the late 70s and early 80s, Ponysphere provides the instrumentation that drives the track in combination with Secret Metal’s vocals that bring it home. Add in a solid percussive beat and some old-school guitar solos and you’ve got well executed, rare, hard rock gem!

Ponies At Dawn – Rebirth | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

a0202306754_10

Listening to the live album release stream for Rebirth, the thing that strikes me most is how brony musicians are always able to make such diverse songs, and to such a high level of production. From the (admittedly majority) range of electronic styles to the big rock and metal songs, to a full range of acoustic and orchestral tracks, there are constant surprises in store.

We’ll be featuring plenty of songs from the album as they’re released on YouTube by the respective artists or the P@D YouTube channel over the coming weeks. Until then, the album is available to download for any given price on Ponies At Dawn’s bandcamp page.
