Artattack – Still Shy VIP (feat. Metajoker) [Assertive Remix VIP] | Happy Hardcore
Assertive was pretty big in the pony music scene back in the day with a number of classic tunes, such as those released as part of Balloon Party’s early albums which I still remember fondly. With many years having passed since then, they’ve now decided to update some of their older pony tracks! There’s definitely an improvement in production quality with this new updated version of their Still Shy VIP, with Metajoker’s wonderful vocals shining through alongside some killer happy hardcore synth design and plenty of the euphoric vibes you’d expect from the genre.
Daniel Ingram – Smile Song (Peasant Jay Remix) | Electro Pop
If you’re a fan of cheerful, bouncy tunes and juicy chords, this remix of “Smile Song” is perfect for you! Peasant Jay proves that fresh takes can still be made on the most classic of pony show songs, fusing a number of styles together with bright synths, jazzy basslines, and even a raucous guitar solo. The combination of Pinkie’s familiar melodies and Jay’s chipper new instrumentation are sure to leave you with a spring in your step – and, naturally, a smile on your face.
Biscuit – THE AIR THAT YOU AND I BREATHE IS NOT THE SAME | Metal
Get excited because there is some new and very promising talent on the scene! Biscuit expresses their unique take on nightmare moon’s perspective of her banishment and relation to Celestia through the aggression and heavy tones of metal. The guitars and drums hit hard while Biscuit’s articulate vocals send a message to the sun princess of how the air that you and I breathe is not the same. Creative, dynamic, and clearly well-thought out, Biscuit is definitely a talent to keep your eyes on (and maybe subscribe while you are at it)!
loopyy & Koa – Pull Over (Siren Song) [Nel Fie Remix] | Electro Pop
The remixes of Pull Over keep coming, with Nel Fie the latest to release theirs. This one gives a big focus to the vocals, with plenty of lovely supporting instrumentation to push a more pop-y feel to the track. Especially enjoyable are the cute little synths that play some very fun melodies, as well as the original art painted by Nel Fie that fits perfectly with the rest of the track!
Childlike Wonder – Slice of Life | Pop
Childlike Wonder’s been on a roll with their MLP-inspired songs! Following on from Sparkle, we now get another fun poppy song, this time picturing some of the little moments that might make up Lyra and Bon Bon’s relationship. Cute music about a cute couple, go take a listen!
PSFMer – The Answer | Chill House
PSFMer’s latest tune is a lovely atmospheric piece about Fluttershy. The track in fact uses generated speech from 15.ai instead of directly sampling audio from the show! On top of that, airy pads create a wide soundscape and layers upon layers of percussion create a hypnotic groove. Take a listen and just…relax…
Jyc Row – Ardenu, Queen of Flames | Orchestral
Ardenu, Queen of Flames is the newest track from Jyc Row’s Primordial Pantheon EP, which is very closely tied to Infinite Eclipse as a bit of a prequel. With this song, he takes us away from the dramatic tension of some of his previous tracks like Midnight Sparkle, the Dark Angel, Harmony of Chaos or Together Against the Sisters, and into a more worldly sound like Jyc visited in his Heroes EP. This piece centers of the Queen of Flames, a regal Alicorn. Her theme is Asian inspired (reminiscent of Jyc’s song Beauty) with epic orchestral passages mixed with a few slower parts and chanting. Jyc Row obviously went all out on this piece, and together with the amazing artwork it makes for a worthy theme to a Queen!
Jyc Row – Chrysalis’ Revenge (feat. IbeConCept) (Malachi Mott remix) | Big Room House
Welcome back to some more amazing EDM, everypony! As part of his Remixes Album, Jyc Row got Malachi Mott to remix a song that I bet a bunch of you didn’t have on your radar anymore! Let’s break down this track to fully appreciate how amazing this remix is:
We start out with a quick guitar that sounds like it’s ushering in an orchestral piece, which is funny considering neither the original nor the GalaCon VIP was orchestral. We venture into EDM territory as IbeConCept’s vocals set in, and an amazing clapping rhythm starts building hype – but sidesteps expectations. As the clapping crescendos, the instrumental goes silent, and a small, harmonic voice of IbeConCept goes absolutely wild with his rapping. Malachi builds on the rapping and morphs it into a vocal build up that shoots us straight into a nice big room drop. You can tell that he put a lot of effort into the drop with the evil-yet-upbeat melody carrying us straight into EDM heaven! A simpler instrumental plays, allowing the vocals to once again shine. The final drop has a fuller sound that makes you miss it when it’s over!
