NeverLastStanding’s been hard at work and he’s put together a full arrangement of Time To Be Awesome, with sheet music included! It’s a pretty cool undertaking, and it reflects the fun sound of the track perfectly.
Sweet Celestia! Check out this amazing lineup of musicians collaborating to cover a fandom classic in Prince Whateverer’s Between Fairytales and Happy Endings! This soft, yet very emotional track describes the hardships that Derpy has to deal with in being different from the others. Scruff’s vocals do well to express the frustration she experiences with the way others treat her. SlightlyAmiss plays a serene acoustic guitar throughout the track. Blackened shreds a couple of technically brilliant guitar solos and with Sable Symphony, Brownie, and Osoch combined bring together a fantastic tribute. With such a legendary lineup of brony guitarists, it is no wonder that the guitar work on this track is so well-done!
Elias Frost is at it again with a new cover of the song from the recent CMC episode. He’s given it a pretty neat makeover in his usual style, with a great music video to go along with it.
You can always count on Elias Frost to cook up something different. Covering the opening song from Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship, Frost takes the happy pop track to a heavy, darker place. Adding some metal beats, a lot of distorted guitars, and a dramatic synth, Elias creates a brilliantly unique take on the original, complete with the video of him performing it.
Here’s an awesome show cover from a very talented trio of musicians! EnergyTone recruited FritzyBeat and ElectroBlitz to be in his Cutie Mark Crusader group for this high-octane version of Hearts as Strong as Horses. All three do a great job vocally and make the track feel very fitting for three guys covering the parts. The distorted guitars and rock drums give a lot of power to the song and make it stylistically amazing and energetic!
I think the thing that impresses me the most about this isn’t necessarily the ponified lyrics, but more those high notes that Moon Flame hits in this! It’s one thing to rewrite a pop song about ponies, but another to be able to actually sing something like this too. Nice job.
Shal has impressed me a lot lately whenever he’s released anything, so it’s cool to see something in a different direction from them! Usually focusing on electronic stuff, this orchestral-tinted metal cover of Open Up Your Eyes makes great use of his vocals, as well as some solid guitar throughout.
March was a great month for compilation albums, with a brand new major Ponies At Dawn album, a new volume of Horse Music Central music, and a winter-themed EP curated by Cider Party. With so many single releases from other artists too, we’ve had a great variety to choose from this month!
Kindness. A song that has always touched me on such a very powerful and inspirational level. I instantly want to write music each time I am reminded of this song. Coming from a huge Fluttershy fan myself, I can relate to sooo many people who share their stories with this song. Its legendary, Truly. 4Everfreebrony did an AMAZING cover of this Song. I hope Re:Make and Andy Stein see this because they really need to! They created a song with so much power and it’s beautiful to see that it still lives on through so many! Thank you soo much for reminding so many people why being a fan of Fluttershy is so awesome. Keep up the good work man. ^^ everybody, show some love! ❤
It’s that time again, where new songs from the show mean some musicians giving their own unique takes on them! Osoch has already managed to put together a few great metal show covers, so it’s no surprise to see this one from him. It makes good use of the vocals from the original, with some heavy guitar and percussion adding some nice energy.
