It’s been a good few months since Einarx’s last EP but his latest one, Nightwatcher, sees a real step up in production for one of Magnus Records’ most prominent contributors. We’ve already featured 3 of the 5 tracks on this EP here on the site, so I won’t go into full depth on this post. The songs range from melody-based dubstep and dnb, to some more hard hitting trap and electro house – a good reflection of the range of styles he has to offer. So if your tastes in music include the EDM umbrella, I can definitely recommend this EP to you.
Brilliant Venture delivers a dark and mysterious-feeling Fluttershy-focused tune that builds up spooky vibes before dropping some of his trademark dubstep sounds. The outro especially has some beautiful vocal chopping.
This track makes use of sounds from Winter Wrap Up, with an eerie music box intro leading into a heavy build to some aggressive drop sounds. The second drop is especially cool with some rising bass sounds.
Another collab of many wonders featuring the rapping coolness of N. Hollow, this Discord-themed track also makes a delightful use of fittingly distorted samples from the show, laying them out over a great melodic instrumental, and making the whole song quite an awesome tribute to the Deity of Dissonance!
Now time for Suskii’s VIP of his recent track Wizards!, and he’s upped the quality of the track in general with some very cool new sound design and overall it’s a super professional sounding piece.
Today is Hearts and Hooves Day / Valentines Day. It is traditionally speaking, a day for lovers, but it has the potential to be more. On Saturday, Bronies for Good’s seventh charity album, A Change of Heart, was released. The project was the result of months of work from talented musicians artists and organizers, and the release party raised over a thousand dollars in just a few hours!
The release party was just the beginning. It’s an ongoing fundraising effort. When you donate, you can download A Change of Heart, and all of Bronies for Good’s previous albums! Donate here, and you’ll be able to download this album, (and all past albums as well). Continue reading →
Remixes are truly a wonderful thing, and with such views on the topic as NeverLastStanding’s, you can be sure that magic is going to happen upon that transformation. Building from the already very special Wake Them from music wizard Ferexes, this remix takes a very unique approach full of uplifting melodies coming back-and-forth and flowing in a wonderful progression, sublimating the godly vocal chops from the original in a mesmerizing torrent of emotion. An amazing remix and a wonderful description from NeverLastStanding!
Time for a new delightful release from Filly in the Box, that has that tasty unique signature sound and that doesn’t fail to impress and amaze once again! This post is a bit special, as I introduce you TWO reviews of the track, by guest writers Bank Pain and NeverLastStanding! Thanks for lending us a hoof! Check out their reviews below.
Start of Bank Pain’s review
Filly in the Box returns to bring a new slice of his signature sound, this time in the form of a relaxed, reverb-loaded half-time tune that still manages to surprise with complex, rhythmic basslines. Complete with gorgeous vocal chops and impressive sound design that build a chilling atmosphere right from the first second as well as FitB’s attention to detail, this track is sure to take you on a journey through its soundscape. Filly In The Box continues the streak of posting really phenomenal and unique songs with “Struck”. This is one that easily gets stuck in my head, as from the start it has really catchy vocal chops, then builds up with some fantastic plucks that build the atmosphere and give that FITB flare. The drop has that stand-out distant and fading feel. The 2nd drop is even better with some top-notch sound design. Overall a track that is worth listening to with its own quirks that make the song a wonderful journey!! End of NeverLastStanding’s review
Bluu is back with a pony track that has been in the works for almost a year, and we can definitely feel the mighty results of that! With gorgeous melodies and amazing-sounding synths, the tracks presents many wonders of sound, and with such a solid progression, it is definitely a masterpiece of much emotion from the artist. Be sure to sub to her! Also fun fact, Bluu is actually the PMV editor known as Sambohh who has now changed her name to SammiFX!
Our friend Wubzy Budzy brings out the big guns with this hard-hitting piece of Amity featuring VooDoo at the pony sample department, and we welcome it with open hooves. The name Shouting at Ponies takes a potential meaning as slick triplets, heavy wubs, and rad samples energize the body and soul, reflecting the force of a shout.
