SpinScissor & SOUND BANDIT – Pony Town Prodigy | Hyperpop

SpinScissor and SOUND BANDIT bring us a fun little hyperpop collab with everything you expect. We have fun vocal processing and effects combined with a carefree instrumental that gets you in the right mood, and evokes feelings of the namesake game. I love the little surprise at the end of the song, which is a great contrast to the rest of the instrumental.

Zizkil’s most recent Ponies at Dawn contribution is like a sonic candy store: there’s something sweet in this track for just about anyone. Sparse, moody vocal chops and a number of different flavors of sound design dance over a beat that’s perfect for head-bobbing and hoof-tapping, with sharp, scratchy noise splashed in to shake it up even further.

BGM – Highest Level Unicorn | Drum & Bass/Breakcore

If you were looking to add some punchy auditory intensity to your day, BGM’s Trixie track is exactly what you need. Appropriately featuring plenty of our favorite magician’s sass, “Highest Level Unicorn” is full of spicy breaks and aggressive synth design, and sports an impressive guitar solo to boot. The visuals are nothing to scoff at either, cementing Trixie as a final boss to be reckoned with.

[P@D] L-Train, 4EverfreeBrony & Koa – Battle Royale | Electro Swing

Day and Night meet in an epic showdown! This culmination of “Daybreaker Boogie” and “Paint the Moon Red” is featured as track 7 on the new Ponies at Dawn album Zenith and boasts sassy, cleverly-written lyrics, funky instrumentals by L-Train, powerful vocals from 4EverfreeBrony and Koa (reprising their roles as Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon, respectively), and a groovy swing that you can’t help but dance (or at least bop your head along) to. Keep your ears open for a melodic callback to “Paint the Moon Red”, namedrops of the two previous P@D albums on which the aforementioned predecessor tracks were featured (Ignite and Eclipse), and even a SpongeBob SquarePants reference.

What happens when these two celestial rivals butt heads? Take a listen!

[P@D] Totalspark ft. IXMO – Heart | Liquid Drum & Bass

Mesmerizing, melancholic, heavy yet breathy. The piano melody is incredibly sad, yet woefully beautiful. The synth rotates around and around like clockwork, like a call-and-response describing the message of the track. Why try so hard for someone who doesn’t feel the same? Will things change if I keep trying? Can I make it on my own? Each instrument is deeply interwoven in this masterpiece that you cannot take one element without sacrificing another.

This track is one of many featured on Ponies At Dawn‘s latest album: Zenith. It’s their biggest project yet, and you do NOT want to miss out!

4everfreebrony – The Fall (feat. Namii) | Chillstep

“The Fall” is a beautiful deviation from 4everfreebrony’s usual flavor! A mesmerizing atmosphere filled with subtle synth arpeggios and a wide breathing soundscape, it really feels as if you are falling through an expansive and unforgiving sky. The song is short and sweet, and Namii’s impressive vocal range is the icing on top for such an airy song while the natural drums add an organic feel to a genre so used to a more digital percussive element!

Maldecid – Changeling Plague | Deathstep

Changeling Plague is a fun one! Maldecid sets a dark tone right out of the gate with a myriad of voice lines from the Queen of Changelings during the Canterlot invasion. The slow and heavy percussion marches poignantly and delivers the rhythm to a hard-hitting drop with unique and eerie sound design, without overwhelming the listener with too much at once! The choir stabs work incredibly well as a foundation for the rest of the music, creating an experience to behold!

Featuring super-clean sound and mesmerizing melodies, “Unforgettable” by Eksoka fills the air with a sound cloud of ambient bliss.  Right out of the gate, this drum and base piece resonates peace and beauty before transitioning into chill yet epic DnB sound design. Drawing inspiration from Rainbow Dash’s love for Tank the Tortoise during his winter hibernation period, Eksoka’s warm melodies and standout RD vocal chops in this track paint an atmospheric soundscape constituting a truly unforgettable musical depiction of this heartwarming story.
