Soul Strings has just released a third part to his Lost Dimension series (have some links to part 1 & part 2), a collection of epic instrumental post-rock tracks based around a good deal of ethereal headcanon and what seems like fanfic ideas. Another fantastic instrumental metal track from Reverbrony (who recently hit 3k subs, woop woop), and also a track from the recent Ponies At Dawn album. Check out this energetic song for fast sports horse above!
Elias Frost – Luna’s Future (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal
Elias Frost is an up-and-coming Swedish metal artist (who certainly looks the part too!) who’s been making MLP-themed music for almost a year, but picked up the pace with pony music in the past few months. This cover starts off with just a classical guitar, some lead guitar and vocals from Elias himself. The drums and other guitars join in halfway through, and even add new composition elements that weren’t in the original. In short, it’s pretty damn epic, go check it out!
Daniel Ingram – Luna’s Future (Segments Of Life Remix) | Metalcore
A similar sound to most of Segments Of Life’s usual music, and a very different style of remix to what we’d normally see, here we have a metalcore (I think) remix of Luna’s Future, from the most recent episode of MLP. Heavy guitars and changes in time signature ahoy, go check it out for epicness!
Reverbrony – Craving Chains (feat. BriLizyT) | Metal
One of the best things about Reverbrony is that he uploads new music on a regular basis, so there are always new songs to enjoy! This latest song captures Chrysalis’ personality and features BriLizyT’s powerful, vocals to tell her story.
Stallionslaughter – My Little Putrefaction | Album | Metal
After a year in the making, metal vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer- Stallionslaughter- releases an eight track album brandishing some of the heaviest music to be produced by the fandom. From groove metal to deathcore, there is a broad array of stylistic influences showcased across the album which features tracks grounded in morbid themes of destruction and equestricide. Celestial Throne – Battle Against Time (ft. BriLizy T and Ponysphere) | Progressive Metal
Are you ready for something big? Celestial Throne just released an epic 13-minute progressive metal song with the help of BriLizy T and Ponysphere! Inspired by the season 5 finale. The song is split into several main acts, 4 according to the way the lyrics are displayed in the description, each section telling a different part of the story and having a slightly altered composition. Sit back, put on your headphones, and take a good listen to this!
[P@D] Thrasher & Night Crow – Beneath Clouds / Foozogz & Sights Unseen – Out Of The Forest | Hardcore
Combining hardcore, trance, metal, and dubstep all into one song, Thrasher and Night Crow bring us the epic Beneath Clouds. If you’re familiar with Celldweller, imagine that but by pony musicians and you’ve got this song here (more or less ;D). I hope to hear more music like this from these two in the future!
In a collab that I didn’t see coming, but makes total sense, Foozogz and Sights Unseen bring us a dark changeling-themed song. Fooz brings out the lesser-known darker side to his production and Sights adds his haunting vocals to make this industrial hardcore piece complete.
[P@D] Dragonal & Rockin’Brony – Transgressions (feat. PrinceWhateverer) / SDreamExplorerS – The Swarm (feat. Metal Core Pony & Kitchen Warrior) | Metal
First up in this little section of more hardcore rock is Dragonal and Rockin’ Brony’s metalcore piece featuring vocals from the one and only PrinceWhateverer! An epic re-telling of the season 5 finale and the battle between Twilight and Starlight, this sure takes me back to my days of teenage angst…so much gentle aggression…
Following up with an even heavier piece is Soul “Dream Explorer” Strings, with some help from Metal Core pony and Kitchen Warrior. Also inspired by the season 5 finale, albeit a different part of it to the previous track, this melodic death metal song focuses on the concept of Chrysalis and her army taking over Equestria. Metal is rather fitting for Cheeselegs if you ask me!
Ponies At Dawn – Awakening | Album | Multi-Genre
After weeks, no, months of anticipation, it’s finally here. The new Ponies At Dawn Album, Awakening, has finally been released. A compilation of 54 amazing tracks from just as many artists, this album brings together – in my opinion – one of the best selections of music the brony fandom has to offer. And the best thing is, you can download it for free, or pay whatever you want for it! Here’s to everyone involved for their hard work in putting this together!
