I remember Zephysonas from back in the day when he used to comment on every song featured on Equestria Daily with alliteration (I guess our own Makenshi has taken that role now, eh?), so I was surprised and delighted to not only find that he makes music himself, but was featuring on Awakening! Check out one of the album’s closing pieces above; a wonderfully composed orchestral piece about dragons.
Orchestral
[P@D] Jyc Row – Tribus Silvarum / ModernBard – Peaceful Landscapes in Equestria | Orchestral
We do like to say that Ponies at Dawn have a bit of everything on their albums, and here we show off another facet of that statement with some orchestral music! Jyc Row here delivers a celtic-feeling track with heavy drums and some captivating choral sounds to really drive home an epic sonic experience.
And the second track here is the closing track to the Awakening album, from ModernBard. This track really lives up to its name with soaring strings and some beautiful woodwind helping to deliver a powerful and yet soothing experience that ends the album on a very resolved, satisfying note. ModernBard’s skill here in creating an atmosphere is highly impressive and he certainly deserves a lot more followers!
Silver Note – Unicorns and Soundwaves | Album | Rock / Electronic
Compiling nearly 2 years’ worth of his brony music, Silver Note has just released his first ever album. After the break I’ll take a look at each track and give you a full rundown of it, going from his oldest songs to his newest!
[P@D] Hydra – Nox / Progressive Element – Robot Pony | Future Garage / Neurofunk
As usual, Hydra brings something different to P@D with an ultra-smooth future garage track heavily influenced by Direct. With high-quality percussion, and even some epic orchestral strings in the break, this groovy track is great to lose yourself in.
And next, Progressive Element shows his versatility after creating some prog house bangers for the last two P@D albums by going for a completely different style. This track is a heavy and dark neurofunk track that really shows what Prog can do when he puts his mind to it, creating a deep and foreboding post-apocalyptic atmosphere.
Ponies At Dawn – Awakening | Album | Multi-Genre
After weeks, no, months of anticipation, it’s finally here. The new Ponies At Dawn Album, Awakening, has finally been released. A compilation of 54 amazing tracks from just as many artists, this album brings together – in my opinion – one of the best selections of music the brony fandom has to offer. And the best thing is, you can download it for free, or pay whatever you want for it! Here’s to everyone involved for their hard work in putting this together!

Crusader – Sound Duel | Orchestral Dubstep
This new track by Crusader lives up to it’s name as I can imagine Vinyl and Octavia in a conflict of sorts. The break melodies are quiet heavenly and the drop is wubtastic! This tune would make both ponies proud!
The Canterlot Symphony Orchestra – Medely of MLP Songs | Orchestral
A more relaxing piece to take you into the late afternoon: Amalun3us’ project The Canterlot Symphony Orchestra brings us a collection of songs from the show performed together in one single piece. It’s a nice relaxing piece, just what I needed. Thanks Amalun3us.
Little Jester – Senses | Piano Ballad
Little Jester graces us with a delightful ballad, using both orchestral instruments as the piano and rock instruments as the bass guitar. Featuring beautiful and contemplative art from Underpable, the track’s sweet melodies and sensory nature will soothe your mind and soul.
StringStorm – Twilight of the Sun Goddess | Orchestral
A short but sweet orchestral piece from StringStorm to fill up the afternoon: Complete with a Latin-singing choir whose lyrics apparently mean nothing at all…not that many would notice 😉
PhonicB∞m – Raiders on the Sand | Dubstep
To start the day we present you a much unique track from PhonicB∞m, incorporating elements and instrumentations from various genres such as orchestral, rock and dubstep. Don’t judge by the sole genre in the title that was just chosen for the sake of picking one, because this track is going to surprise you! Also personally, I can’t help but getting reminded of the BGM field tracks from desert-y areas in RPGs, while listening to this. Wonderful work indeed!
