Lorris – Kirinirik | Dubstep

Songs that reflect their concept musically like this one are such a delight! Lorris shows us his own creativity and take on the widely acclaimed S08E23 Sounds of Silence, with a progressive track representing both the lively and cheerful spirit of the kirin (and especially our beloved Autumn Blaze!) AND the power of the anger of the nirik, with a more heavy part in the track! Lovely concept and musical interpretation!

Peshka – Potion Maker | Post-Rock / Grunge

For Nightmare Night, Peshka brewed a dark and haunting musical mixture from deep into the Everfree, just like Zecora would brew a potion! Music is much like alchemy, and this blend of atmosphere and melodies through guitars is certainly a very potent result!

Vylet Pony – Glitter (feat. Bien) | Progressive House

The title track off of the prodigious Vylet Pony’s new album sees him returning to a progressive house style, years after the awe-inspiring Little DreamsThe track not only focuses on the touching romance of Vinyl and Octavia, but of Vylet’s own desire to release what’s significant to him and letting the music speak for itself. With some excellent guest vocals from Bien, a heavenly vocal melody, a cathartic drop, excellent use of chiptunes, and incredibly clever use of vocals from Flawless (seriously Vylet, more vocal chops plz), this tune is appropriately a highlight of the record it’s named after, which can be found here.

FilledSilhoutte – The New Form EP | Ambient

Beginning production in the community relatively recently, FilledSilhoutte’s eerie new EP is quite the intriguing experiment with soundscapes. The majority of it has some awesome experimentation with ambience and sound design, especially on the dystopic Hysteria. What exactly the “New Form” is is up to the listener, but, needless to say, it is beyond sinister. My personal favorite is the noisy, percussive Overthrown, which is chaotic and has a deceptively simple backing trap-inspired beat. I am beyond interested to hear more conceptual albums from FilledSilhoutte in the future, and you should be, too.

Reverbrony – Sunburn (feat. FritzyBeat) | Alternative Rock

Here we have a melancholic piece from Reverbrony and FritzyBeat. Themed around Princess Luna; moments before giving into the darkness, you can feel the sadness in the composition as her innocence is cut away, slice by slice, beneath Celestia’s Sun and majesty. Three years in the making its a song well worth the wait!

LaRaikaa – She’s a Vampire (M-Type) (feat. EileMonty & Nowacking) | Metal

LaRaikaa (f.k.a. PsychGoth, BagpipeBrony) brings us all the way back to 2012 with a driving metal spin on his original synthy tune based on the fanfic My Roommate is a Vampire. Of course, the beautiful vocals from EileMonty and Nowacking bring even more flavor to the already very tasty djent-inspired instrumental. Whether LaRaikaa will return to do more horse tunes is unknown, but his return is lovely to see!

[P@D] MEQA – Timberwolves | Drum & Bass

The unique sounds coming from this banger of Enigma by MEQA makes this track a great experimental drum n bass song. With experimentation what ranges from the use of minimal drums, the use of weird and cool synths, and the addition of amazing vocals that make this a 6 minutes track an intersting and cool listen!

Alexey Kotlyar – No Return | Orchestral

After a brief hiatus, budding composer Alexey Kotlyar is back! This piece fits the mood depicted in the art by Das-Leben perfectly, with some great tension building and use of somber strings, along with a gorgeous piano section. A fitting tribute to the fallen Snowdrop, this is another pony orchestral composer not to be missed!

Elias Frost – Shadows | Orchestral / Soundtrack

A mix of spooky and epic, Elias Frost bring us Nightmare Moon theme, mixing modern classical music elements with orchestral ones. The instrumentalization is amazing as always and the bells are soo cold and creepy that put me shivers on my skin. A true song that represent the terror and epic behind Nightmare Moon!
