It’s always exciting to see what Equestria Electric Symphony Orchestra comes up with next! For a relatively new producer in the fandom, EESO always finds a way to be charming and play from the heart. Wandering is another great example of that sentimentality as this early Broadway-style track has the right amount of country feel, mixed with a spring-in-your-step kind of beat, and vocals singing of a bright outlook for our favorite older Apple sister. The song details Applejack’s trip back to the family farm after her trip to Manehatten as a filly. The whole track is warm and brilliant, and such a genuine piece of uplifting composition!

Steel Chords – Sweet Apple Acres (feat. EVBP & Djohn Mema) (Bowling For Soup ponified) | Pop Punk
Steel Chords is back and this time he brought friends! Parodying Bowling For Soup’s hit song Ohio (Come Back to Texas), Steel sings about Applejack’s trip to Manehatten as a filly to live with her Aunt and Uncle Orange. He describes how the Apple’s back at the orchard miss their beloved sister while she is gone. EVBP provides the guitars and bass, while Djohn Mema rocks the drums. With funny and clever references to other episodes, creative harmonies, and a gritty, punk feel, Sweet Apple Acres is a great take on the original track!
Brilliant Venture – Moved On | Dubstep
Brilliant Venture’s always had a talent for nostalgic songs, and Moved On is no exception. At once melodic, energetic, and oldschool, this song jumps from genre to genre fluidly. It’s like being taken on a guided tour by a cheerful, helpful, kind pony (Pinkie?) through a world of happiness and nostalgia.
UndreamedPanic – The Beach | Future Bass
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 23 April 2018.
UndreamedPanic’s been hard at work lately, with the end result being an awesome new album of future bass and synthpop-y tunes! This first track from the album has some awesome vocal chops and upbeat composition, as well as some classic future chords. You can grab the album on Bandcamp here!
[P@D] Wandering Artist – Prance, Think, Prance Again | Orchestral
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 22 April 2018.
Wandering Artist (or John Doe) is back with some more deer-y pony music! Originally intended for the Pony Town soundtrack, this piece evidently evolved into something a bit more than that, with some gorgeous complexity and dynamics throughout the piece. The composition is soft and playful, making great use of piano, strings and more.
Flyghtning & Flutter Rex – Nothing but Discord | Electro
Electro, hard trance, whatever you want to call it, this collab between Flyghtning and Flutter Rex is pretty cool. It has this great combination of a dark soundscape, which is only enhanced by the triplets. That deep bass drives most of the song, but it occasionally breaks down into an arp that switches the whole thing into a major key all of a sudden. I love that sort of play between major and minor roots in the same key, nice work by both of these guys!
Kelvin C. H. Reverie – Frozen Time | Acoustic
Kelvin continues his recent Applejack-themed acoustic streak (in fact, it’s all part of an upcoming album) with this more melancholic piece about wanting to go back to the past and simply remain there.
Rusty – Duality | “Experimental-ish”
Rusty’s already a very experimental musician, but this song goes a little deeper and a little weirder into that sort of production technique. The general feel of the song makes me think it could fit in to some kind of horror musical, but it’s Rusty’s sampling techniques that bring out the experimentation. The middle section of the song also breaks down a lot of convention and adds another different, eerier sound to the song.
Fascinatin – Ways We Choose | Synthpop
Oh hey, new musician! Fascinatin here has made a neat synthpop track with some great melodic elements and nice big chords. There’s some room for improvement, but it’s a really promising start for a new musician to make something as good as this!
[Spark] Moon Flame – Bye Bye Fluttershy | Adult Contemporary / Blues
An amazing feature on MyLittleMusics’ album Spark:Magic done by Moon Flame. A really warm ballad with really awesome instrumentation! The vocals and the lyrics are also really well performed as with the “yay” samples! It’s amazing that it got featured on ROCK FARM! Download the “Magic” album on Spark bandcamp!
