[SoK] Flittzy – Journey | Pop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 13 February 2017.

Flittzy takes us on a journey with his track from the latest Bronies For Good album, combining his upbeat vocals with the joyous nature of a bounce-y tropical-style instrumental. There’s some really nice synth design that complements the rest of the track very well.

The Shake Ups In Ponyville – All Aboard the Friend-ship! | Power Pop

Time for another YouTube release of a song from The Shake Ups’ latest album Rock Candy! (Which I would like to remind you is available as a physical CD on their cdbaby page, and in import, too! And it’s pretty slick, I grabbed it myself.) A Twilight-themed track and a favorite of the band, All Aboard the Friend-ship! conveys so well the unique traits of the signature pony Power Pop genre that the band is known for. The sweet and very MLP-ish lead vocals from “Twi-Fi Sparklecaster” Patrick O’Connor are melting the heart, while the friendly and just as Equestria-worthy instrumental contributes even further to make this track such a sugary condensed of pony-powered happiness in musical format. It just makes you smile so wide as the song unfolds. See this page for more details about the band, and let your cheering be heard everypony!

Flittzy – Peppermint Ponies | Pop

It is Flittzy’s time to shine again as bright as a life-changing sonic rainboom, bringing smiles to the audience with an uplifting instrumental and much lovely vocals, in a similar way of what the show is doing to us. Happy acoustic guitar play, positive strings, Equestria-like synth melodies that may subtly remind you of some OST tracks from Legends of Equestria, much welcomed Pinkie-ish lyrics, and vocals as sweet as candy, all make this track a wonderful experience and additionally make you want to give Flittzy a big loving hug. I say everyone in the comments section all pounce-hug Flittzy at the same time!

[P@D] Morgsch – Let The Sun Rise (feat. Itchigotchi) (Sonic Rainboom Remix) | Experimental Pop

Another remix of a track featuring Itchigotchi’s beautiful vocals, this time it’s Sonic Rainboom’s turn to show some Amity with this definitely much original and inspired remix. With an unusual spin we don’t see so often, it manages to create a refreshing instrumental and vibe conveying much love and making awesome use of the vocals.

L.M. – Eve (LutariFan Remix feat. Flittzy) | Electro Pop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 23 January 2017.

LutariFan has been a pretty quiet presence in recent times, but he’s still very much around and continuing to improve as a producer as shown here in spades! He’s taken L.M.’s beautiful track Eve and melded it into his own interesting style, as well as added some lyrics to the previously instrumental original. Flittzy’s singing helps to complement the instrumental, and overall this is just a really pretty track.

Foozogz – You And Me | Electro-Pop

It’s been a while since Fooz’s last original track…okay, last serious original track, but this is one that attendees of Pacific Ponycon might recognise. He premiered the track there and it’s now available for everyone to hear, and to experience the infinite hair attack.

Homage McGee – Alone | Electro-Pop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 11 January 2017.

Hot off the heels of his last groovy release, Disco Girl, Homage returns with an awesome follow up in the form of Alone. This track instantly hits with a funky groove to it, and some cleverly programmed vocal chops. That continues throughout the track, which whilst carried by the generally ever-present vocals, also has great old-school feeling synth usage.

Note: Since the original video got deleted, you may find the MP3 file of the song here.

Almost Anyone & FritzyBeat – When the Winter Ends | Electro Pop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 9 January 2017.

It’s been a while since Fritzy’s teamed up with Almost Anyone for a pony track, and it’s certainly nice to have a new collab from them! Fritzy’s trademark vocal style works well with the heavy and happy electronic synth design of Almost Anyone, as they bring a track about Rainbow Dash and Tank.

Sarah P. – The Magic Inside (covering Daniel Ingram) | Indie Pop

A rather different style of cover now – something which might be a bit hit or miss but still probably worth sharing. The latest release on A Little Bit for Charity’s YouTube channel, this cover of The Magic Inside has a rather unique vocal style, with very gentle accompanying instruments and almost a Christmas music vibe to it, since it’s filled with lots of percussive bells. Check it out if that sounds like your kind of thing.
