[P@D] Jyc Row & Francis Vace – Celestial Beserkers (ft. IbeConCept) | Celtic Metal Big Room

No, seriously.

This one certainly took me by surprise when I heard it. Not only does Jyc take a shot at more of an electronic side of production than usual, but it’s combined with his own celtic orchestral style, Francis’s input on the metal sections and IbeConCept is brought in to rap in the verses.  There is literally an influence from every category we put things into here (Electronic, Rock, and Misc), and I’ve never heard anything quite like this. Kudos to the three of you for this!

Various Artists – Remix War IX!

It may not be much to offer this time round (because reasons), but the 9th edition of the My Little Remix forum’s Remix Wars has finished up. Albeit with few contributions this time round, for various reasons, here’s what the forum frequenters have to offer!

MC-Arch – Rise (My Past is Not Today) | Rap / Hip-Hop

I need to find a new way to say this instead of repeating myself every time, but I honestly love that MC-Arch’s lyrics always have such a influence on them from who he is as a person, and that they come straight from the heart. While there’s still room for improvement in terms of production, music like this still deserves its place on this site, nice work MC-Arch!

Boards of Equestria – Music Has the Right to Pony | Album | Electronic / Hip-Hop

A new album from one of Technickel Pony’s aliases (you may remember Beats and Pieces), whose name is in tribute to the Scottish electronic duo, Boards of Canada. The album is mostly made up of relatively short pieces, and keeps to a sort of chill electronic / hip-hop style which runs throughout the entire album.

Technickel’s production style seems to have become a bit more standardised in this album compared to Beats and Pieces (although I do still hear some Sytrus presets in there ;P). While I’m unfortunately unable to do a full album review, I’d love to recommend a couple of tracks in particular. Track 7, Night Time World (ft. donglekumquat) gives a great sort of spacey feel with both the vocals and the lead synths. The following track, Dusk Light, a collaboration with Seventh Element, also has some great instrumentation and has a very strong trip-hop vibe to it.

Again, apologies for the lack of full review, but if you like chill electronica and hip-hop, this is definitely the sort of thing you should check out!

Projekt Equestria ft. Bejeden – Manewry w Equestrii | Rap / Hip-Hop

It’s not often we get get sent ponifications of other songs…and I don’t think we’ve ever had anything in Polish before, so consider this an extremely rare occasion! And if you’d like a rough translation of the lyrics, click here for one, courtesy of Violin Melody.

Shika No Mori Sound – Beauty In The Trees | Album | Multi-Genre

It’s time for a new collaborative album from the community, everypony!! And this one certainly delights and holds many surprises! Living up to its lovely title, the album from collaborative effort Shika No Mori Sound (“Forest of Deer”) delivers tracks of pure beauty and power, featuring musicians from all around the community, including familiar names but also some you might not have heard of. What they all have in common is that they did amazing to bring this concept justice and produce a mighty album as beautiful as a forest!

Starting off with the very headbangable Venality from R3ctifier centered around the events of Friendship Games, the first half of the album hits as hard and powerfully as witnessing the many wonders of Nature would feel, with very enthralling tracks such as Aven‘s Purpose (#4), the dark and heavy Worlds from Flak (#14), the insane Dustep madness of IKX in Two Faced (#12), even bringing all the Hardcore with track #7. And this goes not without mentioning the cute yet powerful mellow interlude of Kawaii Dash‘s Bubble Tea (#6) that surprises with a mighty sound design and Future mood!

The second half of the album further embodies the gentle, invigorating and emotional beauty that Nature can grant to those who open their soul to it, with chill-ish songs that matches the concept in the most wonderful ways. Starting with Fallen Empire from emotional Chillout master Totalspark (#15), we then get entranced by the mighty groove and originality from Waifu Avenue‘s 16 Under 20 (#17), dive into the amazing depths of Ax:l‘s Bröadcast (#18), wander through DisCHORD‘s Wilderness with both awe and energy (#19), inger in bliss as the Drum & Bass of Progressive Element‘s Crystal Fragments stimulate our ears and soul (#20), get hit so hard with the amazing soundscapes of Chillout masterpiece Dreamscapes from Totalspark (#21, his second contribution to the album and my personal favorite from the album), to end with the much welcome piece from Vinyl Darkscratch Snipershy’s Ballad (#22) and Shü77erfly‘s melodic Atmosphere that warms the heart and soul (#23).

You can get Beauty In The Trees on its Bandcamp page. And don’t forget to give mad props to all those amazing artists!! You can get their info in the “read more” section of the Soundcloud page.

To all the album’s artists reading this : You guys are amazing, thank you for blessing us with your music and for this masterpiece of an album!! Much love!

Ponytronic – Tiempo De Sombra | Trip-Hop

We don’t see much trip-hop these days, but Ponytronic’s got you covered for your fix of mildly glitchy breakbeats. A nice electric guitar fills the main body of the melody, adorned by synths and plenty of  percussion

Various Artists – JapanPonyParty! Vol.3 | Album | Multi-Genre

We completely missed this when it first released back in May, but thanks to someone sending it in to us, we’re able to share it with you today! This compilation album featuring artists from the Japanese fandom scene was released at Japan Ponycon in May earlier this year. It features some names you might recognise (e.g. Oodoratoo2, delfino), but also has a wide variety of other artists you may never have heard of, and a huge range of genres too! The above video contains previews of each track, and the album itself can be downloaded from JPP’s website for free!

Sprocket – Praise the Sun | Hip-Hop

Part of the ongoing “Princess Variations” project, a series of songs about Celestia and Luna, based around the same basic chords and melodies but performed in different styles and genres. This song seems to have a bit of everything; a hip-hop style beat, subtle rock keys and guitars, electronic vocoded vocals, and orchestral parts which come and go with the progression of the song. It’s such a diverse soundscape, I wasn’t expecting to hear something quite like this from Sprocket but he’s done an amazing job here!
