RIEL returns with his first remix of the year, a more melodic take on Hoofy‘s P!NK GVNG. Gone are the intense wubs and elements from other genres, and it its place are glitch hop elements as well as more heavenly and melodic synths mixed with vocal samples and some hard-hitting yet more restrained wubs. It’s amazing how two different minds can make such different versions of their tracks!

Vylet Pony – Queen of Misfits (feat. Cabi and Namii) (Foozogz Remix) | Electropop
Foozogz is a gem. Without listening to the original song with the exception of the vocals, they’ve remixed Vylet’s Queen of Misfits in their own signature style, giving it a faster tempo as well as a synth sound that resembles a distorted guitar, giving it a rockier edge. Everyone’s voices fit perfectly well even with the style change, which shows how versatile they are! Above everything, this remix also has Vylet’s seal of approval!
Daniel Ingram – The Magic of Friendship Grows (Skelter Remix) | House
This is Skelter’s take on The Magic of Friendship Grows, paying tribute to this eternal song. In it you will find their signature incorporation of orchestral elements to electronic music, however there is a twist: the use of glitches throughout. The intro section has an interesting drum pattern before going into four-on-the-floor. All of it makes for a refreshing new spin on the original.
StrachAttack – Attack It VIP | Future House
The 2013 reworks just keep coming through, don’t they? Attack It VIP is a new version of StratchAttack’s track of the same name from 2013, rebuilt from the ground up. The production is a massive leap upwards from the original and sounds absolutely delightful to listen to. The synths are perfect for the style of music and fit with the new addition of vocal chops in the melody. It’s amazing how far he’s come!
Vylet Pony – Queen of Misfits (feat. Cabi and Namii) (Remember Falling Remix) | Alternate Electronic
A long one, this track. Remember Falling has released an 8 minute long remix of Vylet Pony‘s Queen of Misfits, and it’s honestly super beautiful. The track is absolutely dripping of reverb and full of astonishing instrumentation and synth work, trading the 80s-inspired sound of the original for a more modern sounding electronic style. The vocalist’s voices are still present here, and are sprinkled with different effects at certain points, like a vocoder or bitcrusher. The most emotional part has to be when Vylet and Namii sing together accompanied by just a piano before the electro synths jump back in. Hats off to Remember Falling for crafting such an amazing remix!

[P@D] UndreamedPanic – The Storm Is Coming VIP (feat. Metajoker) | Synthwave
Get your umbrellas out, because the storm is coming. Track 68 from Ponies at Dawn: Eternal sees UndreamedPanic enter synthwave territory with Metajoker by his side. The atmosphere is bleak with plenty of reverb on the latter’s voice as the 80s-inspired synths and bass paint a picture of the rain falling on a lonely town. As long as you’re inside and cozy with this song, the storm won’t get you.
Starlight – Returns (CutTheRedWire Remix) | Drumstep
Songs from the pony band Starlight (Proctra & PegasYs) shall never be forgotten, and it’s good to see that in this day and age remixes are still being made! The Starlight Glimmer-themed track from the band gets a new spin by CutTheRedWire here with comfy beats, and the original vocals by PegasYs can be appreciated in all their glory once more!
John Kenza & 4everfreebrony – Love (Rod Steven Remix) | Eurobeat
Love is in the air with Rod Steven’s remix of the John Kenza and 4everfreebrony number Love. This rendition perks the speed up quite a bit while set to a Eurobeat backing and keeping the, well, lovable atmosphere up. The parts where the brass sections stop in particular are where the vocals and strings really shine!
Pony Sauce – NRG (Toby Macarony Remix) | Alternate Electronic
Part of a new album Remixie Redixie that is free to download, this very cute remix of the classic NRG is such an earworm! Especially with those vocal chops from the original that never fail, and there’s brand new pony vocal chops from Toby as well, along the instrumental that’s in the musician’s signature style! A delight of a remix!
