Today we’ve got some more amazing metal straight from A State of Sugar’s “Biscuit” album. This one comes at you courtesy of SlightlyAmiss, StealingShad3z and CyrilTheWolf. “In The Tar” is a track all about the Pony of Shadows with “as much edge as possible”. The awesome lyrics are delivered by fantastic melodic vocals which are joined by the occasional screaming, and the instrumental  switches between more acoustic arrangements and full metal beauty! [ASOS] SlightlyAmiss & Sakairi – Days Infernal (feat. Acouste Wholenote) | Symphonic Metal

My friends, I’ve been looking forward to coving this track even since Sakairi and Amiss gave me a preview of it why working on it for ASOS: Biscuit months before the release. It is one of the most explosive, and better yet, one of the MUST listens on the album.

The track centers around Daybreaker. Celestia slowly being driven insane, inching closer to Daybreaker, calling out to her to be unleashed by the lyrics. Starlight Glimmer’s dream in “a royal problem.” only planted the seeds into Celestia’s mind. Until the day comes when she snaps, letting Daybreaker take hold of her, The lyrics tell the story of Celestia wanting to feel more than she is and not feel weak anymore; her words ring out as she targets her sister luna and her past, then turns to twilight with rage. She tells them both that Celestia’s limits will no longer bind her. The song gets intense with the minds of Daybreaker and Celestia clashing for control before Daybreaker sends Equestria into an age of hellfire and death, with Princess Luna and Twilight being her first victims.

You have to listen for yourself, but the song is only as good as say it is if not for the talent behind it. SlightlyAmiss on this album alone has stepped up his game to a whole new level. The entire package of how hardcore the metal is in this track fits the inner spirit of the story. The guitars and drums channel the brutal power of Daybreaker with the tempo on an overdrive.  There are very harmonious Orchestra elements composed by Amiss, which I didn’t know he had in him! The lyrics so well fit this story. You can step right into Celestia’s head and understand and get into this song. Well-written lyrics bring life to songs such as these, But the vocals bring that story to life. I got to tell you that if you don’t know who Sakairi is? You know now. Her singing gives the emotional energy and fire of Daybreaker telling her story. You feel the anger, rage, and lust for power through the powerful harmonies of Sakairi’s impressive singing voice. Oh and just make that sweeter? Amiss lends his rage scream vocals to harmonize with her vocals so you know Daybreakers firey rage behind Sakairi’s vocals

Didn’t I mention that she made it onto her first significant compilation album on her first try! He can feel Celestia trying to fight back and take control back and Daybreaker laughing at her just by the passion and tone of Sakairi’s voice. She has put this fandom on notice by her break-out performance, and to sweeten this more, Amiss and his pal Acouste Wholenote throw in some epic, and emotional guitar solo’s to amp the drama of this fantastic track! This track is what Symphonic Metal sounds like when done right! This track alone is worth supporting the album. Ya’ll need to keep your eyes on this group, I can promise you. It’s only the start! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself, but enjoy one of the best Daybreaker songs ever made in my book.

Thrasher – breaking_point | Progressive Metal

What’s going on here?! Thrasher’s latest release is a unique mishmash of many genres, combining numerous metal subgenres with trap and EDM elements. Atmospheric guitars, trap beats, blast beats and low-tuned guitar riffs galore here, and even without vocals to help carry it, the song blends these elements together in such a brutal way that it annihilates everything in its path. You won’t regret listening to this if you love your metal unique.

Blackened Blue – One Small Thing (feat. Koa, Drummershy and MC-Arch) (Covering Tw3Lv3) | Hard Rock

Ohh man, If you have not listened to Tw3Lv3’s remix album of musicians remixing or covering one of the best songs in the fandom of 2020, you need to click here!

Blackened like he always does, gives a cover or remix of a song, his unique touch. Tw3Lv3’s melodies are now fully covered with some hardcore guitar seasoning with just a tad bit of gentleness with the soft and sweet guitar chords with some buildup in the choirs the song. The work Blackened does with his guitar work is perfect with keeping the pureness of the mood right down to the fun and hoppy riffs he does to back MC-Arch‘s rhymes. It’s pretty interesting seeing his range of skill with the cords and notes he composes here! Oh, but his voice, that Nu Metal vibe the haunts every one of his tracks, pairing that with Koa‘s rich and inspiring vocals, will put a smile on your face, and it just fits! Blackened Blue, I’ve noticed, has been improving his creative music-making, making each song his sound and style, and you got to give him some credit for how well this cover came out! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

SeriousDamir – Big Iron (Parody) | Country

So, everypony, today we’ve got ourselves something special. SeriousDamir brings us this amazing Parody of “Big Iron”, a song from Fallout: New Vegas, and what could be better than turning that song into a Fallout Equestria song! But enough of that–let’s get straight to the song! The song starts out with a lovely acoustic solo that first made me think of Avicii, and believe me when I say that what we’re about to get is just as awesome! Quickly the vocals set in (everything is ponified, of course) and everything is accompanied by the guitar and backing vocals. The song’s lyrics take the original version, in which a ranger is after a guy called Texas Red, and change things up so that Littlepip is after the enclave colonel Autumn Leaf and her trusty “Big Iron”, who is of course Little Macintosh. Pip travels through town after town, all the while accompanied by the guitar and backing vocals, and everywhere she goes they know her as the “Hellmare”. She travels all the way to Red Eye’s cathedral, and in the end she not only finds her target but also Red Eye himself. After everything is said and done we end with some more awesome guitar.

MelodyBrony – Onward | Hard Rock

Faster than lightning, MelodyBrony bursts onto the scene with Onward, a song all about G5 (more than likely the first one to come out) and the future it may bring! A positive rock song, we hear MelodyBrony’s musing about what the future holds for the fandom in wake of the show’s new incarnation hitting the scene. Driven by a lead guitar melody with a piano in the background, MelodyBrony sings with passion as the music charges forward, with a heavy focus on melody and structure, his forte. Who knows, maybe this could become the unofficial G5 anthem in future!

Crusader! – A Summer in the Stars (covering Forest Rain) | Pop Punk

(You can listen to the classic tune here!)

Crusader! Every time I hear new music from you, you sound better and better. If you listen to this cover of the classic Forest Rain song, you’ll notice that some machismo has been injected into this track. The song is about two friends or two lovers enjoying hot summer nights exploring the world of Equestria. It might also remind some of us of the many fun summer nights at pony con or a brony meetup enjoying those times that we have together. The fun factor is boosted by the catchy and hard punk rock goodness on those guitars and drums. Boy oh boy, does Crusader send some serious Green Day vibes with the vocal performance of this track. The cute little melodies of the classic are intact with his own flair to them. Tell me you can’t listen to this track and think about having pizza at a parlor with a group of bronies, taking a break from the con and just enjoying the moment! The fun factor of Crusader’s energy sends the vibes right into your ears! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Metal Core Pony – Wishful Reminiscence | Post-Hardcore

Metal Core Pony returns with his newest song since 2018, Wishful Reminiscence! Showing that he hasn’t lost his touch at all, this track displays some really soulful vocals over a heavy melodic instrumental. It’s all about the fandom (as his tunes usually tend to be) and its current state, with the hope that things can change for the better if we stick together, like the days of old. A powerful message for sure, coupled with a brilliantly made song. Welcome back, MCP!

Blackened Blue – The Road Less Travelled | Hard Rock

Oh no! Blackened Blue is lost in the desert and losing his mind! Well, at least we get a kick ass rock track out of it! By this point, it should come as absolutely no surprise that one of the premier rockers in the fandom has absolutely crushed the sound of the heyday of hard rock. The driving electric guitar, drums, and bass arrangement is so satisfying to hear. What I like about this straightforward arrangement is that it allows the listener to appreciate how good the instruments sound with lots of reverb goodness and a pleasing openness to the mix. The icing on the angst cake is Blackened Blue’s vocals, which are fantastic and spot on for this style of song, delivering lyrics that have me a little concerned for his well-being. I also love the art used in the accompanying video which really helps pull the viewer into the story. I know that it’s too much to hope for a full “rock band in the scorching desert” music video, but it’s still fun to imagine one! Hope you enjoy listening to this track (at high volume) as much as I do!
