Well well well, where do I even start with this? This track has been stuck in my head for a while for several reasons: It’s a really fun parody with a perfect mix of singing and screaming vocals! And believe it or not, this metalcore track features some pretty fire hardstyle kicks! A combination that sounds absolutely random, but it works out perfectly! The kicks add a lovely bounce to what is already an amazing party track! Definitely give this one a listen yourself and enjoy!

Harmony Bop – TRUST IN LOVE | Synthpop / Metal
If ever there was a cartoon about the adventures of Princess Cadance, then this would absolutely need to be the theme song! Harmony Bop’s bright synth hook, energetic drums and driving guitars create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the Princess to deliver her sage wisdom. Sung from her point of view, Cadance sings that you need to “Trust In Love” because trust is so important to romantic relationships. Full of totally unique sections to change the pacing and emotion, Harmony Bop keeps you on your toes while constructing an experience that works perfectly as one!
Blurain – Dear Luna | Alt. Rock / Metal
This song from Blurain, standing at nearly 7 minutes in length, is possibly his most ambitious single yet! Split into 5 parts, it moves from ballad to heavier pop-punk/metal to ambient instrumental as he draws on his own past experiences and calls on Luna to help him defeat his own Tantabus. Each change keeps you holding on to hear more – definitely worth the whole 7-minute experience!
Makaryo – WILL I EVER MAKE MY OWN MARK | Indie Rock
Makaryo has been on fire for the last year or so – creating incredible animations and dipping their toe into music production as well! This track features an anguishing Misty looking for approval and singing her desired for autonomy. Utilizing smooth, clean guitars and a simple drum kit, Makaryo achieves an intimate, indie rock feel that encapsulates the somber, emotional tones of the track.
Cyril the Wolf – Millennium Alone (feat. Drummershy) [2023 Version] | Rock
Cyril the Wolf decided to make an updated version of what I believe is his first pony song ever, Millennium Alone, original made in 2011. The track begins with the beautiful playing of acoustic guitar, with the strings melting in, continuing to build with the addition of electric guitars before bursting into a full rock arrangement! The lyrics are Luna-centric with beautiful turns of phrase like “moving tides as she wept”, and Cyril’s vocal performance is phenomenal, flowing smoothly in and out of falsetto, showing off an incredible range. Absolutely splendid!
Blurain – Overthrown (Continuation) | Alternative / Metal
You ever just need a 4-chord banger in drop C# tuning? Blu’s got you covered! He’s been pumping out song after song lately and this one takes a turn towards the heavier side with the occasional djenty bit and harsh vocals. Plus it’s a Thorax song – not the most common character to reference so it’s a nice rare gem in that sense!
Blurain – Ponies And Powerchords | Alt. Rock Album
It’s always a delight when a new musician shows up in the fandom demonstrating a lot of talent and potential! Working off limited production resources, 17 year-old Blurain comes out swinging with this inspired alternative rock debut pony album. Here are just a couple of the highlights from this 11-track premier!
Oh Equestria: The first full song off the album, Blurain makes a great, charismatic choice to lean into his inexperience by starting the track with feedback from plugging in a guitar and a metronome playing before ever strumming the first notes. Once the intro is over, it is clear that he knows what he’s doing as he professes his love for the technicolor world we all came to love. The chorus hits with a catchy hook singing the name of the song as full harmonies fill out the soundscape. Driving guitars, bass, and drums keep things energetic and fun.
A Princess You’ll Never Be: Blurain goes all-out with a blend of screams and full, harmonized vocals; switching between the two as if to both narrate and illustrate the plight of Chrysalis in this epic track. The guitars have sections of heavy breakdowns, further emphasizing the anguish. As the final song on the album, Blurain gives a stunning performance and really leaves you wanting more.
Zythiria – Dear Father | Alternative / Indie Rock
This song is intended as a little ode from Sunny to her father, and it hits this sombre angle perfectly, both in lyrics by Zyhtiria herself and in instrumental, somehow I teared up even before the vocals set in! Definitely give this one a listen, but be prepared with some tissues.
The Wilders – My Bananas (EveryDayDashie 3.0 Remix) | Hybrid EDM
I don’t even know where to start with this track, this is an amazing mish mash of everything from Orchestral to Hardcore, so no matter what you’re into, there’s gonna be a section for you! Dashie did a great job mashing all these genres together and the result is a fun and entertaining chaos that’ll get stuck in your head for a while!
El Nulevoe – Tax of Vengeance (ft. Blackened Blue) | Thrash Metal
Yes, this is a pony song about taxes, but on the contrary to the pain that is filing taxes this song is a joy! Full of energetic and hard hitting melodies and lots of angry screaming vocals this song is exciting and really conveys the hate they feel in Griffonstone for paying their taxes, which is something I’m pretty sure barely anyone has thought about yet xD
