Quite literally reflecting both the depth and the power of the Night and Luna’s feelings, this new instrumental piece from Reverbrony does an incredible job at delighting our rock spirit over a solid progression filled with awesome riffs and beautiful guitar melodies, always with a top-notch drums and bass accompaniment, to provide a blissful experience to rock out to, or to reflect to.

Totalspark – Forgotten (As in Times Past) | Chillout
A very fitting way to conclude such an amazing album as Destinations, Forgotten (As in Times Past) continues on the streak of emotional music and much to Totalspark’s signature, brings unique sounds, melodies and emotions that ravish the soul, putting once again through music an incredible sensitivity and ability to create magic.
Dr. Somepony – Journey | Metal
It’s always so awesome to get a new release from Dr. Somepony, made through hard work and despite all the difficulties he’s facing, and this piece centered around the events of the fateful episode The Times They Are A Changeling along its meaningful and emotional cover art certainly delivers, with a Metal instrumental of much grace and emotion, expressing such events and feelings with force along the mighty guitar riffs and solos.
Horse Music Central – Vol. 1 | Complilation Album | Multi-Genre
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 13 November 2016.
Horse Music Central, a group for brony musicians, have released their first compilation album, organised by FruityFusion, Spectra and Violin Melody, called Horse Music Vol. 1! This album, comprising 14 tracks, features relatively established artists such as Ryazan, fractilx and FruityFusion himself, as well as other new and upcoming artists such as Filly in the Box, Intersekt and Lunar Dance. With the money made from the album going towards charity, it’s definitely something worth checking out if you like compilation projects (I know I do!). You can find the album on bandcamp for free or donation here!
174UDSI – Past Future EP | Electronic
So, uh…hey. Been a while since I wrote up anything here, and so this writeup is a little later than anticipated, but let’s not dwell on that! Instead let’s take a look at this (almost) brand new EP from 174UDSI! I think this is the first time I’ve seen some sort of album release from him, so this’ll be a new experience for me too. Anyway, let’s jump right in and look at it track by track, shall we?
Sights Unseen – Faultless (feat. Cadie) | Alternate Electronic
Heartfelt works made in tribute to our beloved characters is one of the things I love to see the most, and this song dedicated to Rainbow Dash’s character depth certainly is a wonderful experience, with its unique progressive instrumental of nearly 10 minutes, its magnificent duet in collaboration with the amazing Cadie who also provides quality backing vocals, and its dark yet lovely and meaningful concept around faking a “tough act”, inspired by Rainbow Dash (some text quotes at the end of the video!)
Sky Runner & Hay Tea – Guardian Of Dreams | Neurofunk
This dark-as-can-be Neurofunk track may not be an actual collab track between Sky Runner and Hay Tea (however that is bound to happen… huehuehue), it is still a delight to witness. We can definitely feel the insane potential of the union of such talented DnB musicians, as we embrace the darkness along the wicked distorted wubs and the ominous piano, soothed by the power and appeal of the Night. Check also Hay Tea’s upload!
Intersekt – Fight Me | Drum & Bass
As heard at the Cider Party, this track from Intersekt off the Cordale EP (a Nightwave Studios release) impresses with a very inventive take on Drum & Bass and a progression full of surprises that are bliss for the ear. With its own story in continuation with the others tracks from the EP, this favorite of mine is an all-time masterpiece to play at many parties!
Dynamite Grizzly – Trickery (feat. Enny Gima) | Techno
Full of emotion, this great and powerful track by Dynamite Grizzly reflects on Trixie’s moving sacrifice in the season’s finale in the most fitting ways, conveying Trixie’s strength of character and the epicness of the moment with mighty guitars from Enny Gima and incredible rythmic synths, but also the sincerity of Trixie’s feelings and her character depth with utterly beautiful and emotional melodic parts like at 2:44. I’ve got to say Dynamite Grizzly’s musical sensitivity for those is astounding, and I love it a lot. Powerful track and tribute to Trixie and the finale, and you know that when Discord says Trixie is self-absorbed, the reason why Trixie is so hurt and angry at that, is because despite her habit to boast, she actually have the biggest and most tender feelings toward her friends, Starlight in particular.
Ataraxia – 5:00 At The Café on Monument Parkway | Piano Solo
A much inspired and beautiful piano piece from Ataraxia, 5:00 At The Café on Monument Parkway conveys a comforting warmth through moving melodies on that sacred instrument, reflecting on personal feelings and hence displaying once more the beauty and magic there is to heartfelt songs, in this case even more magical thanks to the added level of emotion there is to pony tracks where we can appreciate that certain connection to what we feel, and imagining the artist play this piece inside a piano bar or a café in Equestria, and attending that live performance, only makes it more emotional. Well, Ataraxia said he’s trying to go to as many conventions as possible this year, so perhaps a music live at one of those is the best equivalent we can get for now! Be on the lookout for that!
