A potent brew of strong bassline, lovely melody, and astonishing vocal chopping marks Lorris’s contribution to ASOS. Sweet, joyous, and kind, Another Way brims with emotion. Compositionally, it’s a masterpiece as well, with soft, smooth sounds and a very oldschool bassline.

[ASOS] Nevermourn – Nighttime Aria | Drum & Bass
Coming from one of the hottest albums of this year: Lollipop by the A State of Sugar Crew, there’s this track done by one of the upcoming Drum N Bass pony musicians: Nevermourn. And I must say, that this track is absolute fire! The vocal chops, the piano, the drums and the synths are absolute chilling and amazing! Adding that to the amazing “liquid” feeling that the track gives and the well done mastering and mixing helps a lot this track for becoming a great tune of ASoS!
Buy or download Lollipop, and give support to the upcoming brony artists!
NightCrow – Path of the Warrior | Trance
Great trance track from another less-know artist – NightCrow. The track is pretty awesome and the elements of it, including the vocals on it are well performed, at the point. I simply love it, it’s uplifting and cheerful and it make me happy and it will make you happy if you listen. Inspiring and emotional track, you should really check out!
FlutterDash Records – Lend a Hoof | Pop
Something simple but sweet to end the day. FlutterDash records is a new duo from the Pacific Northwest just starting out writing and recording some of their own songs. While the production leaves something to be desired here, the songwriting and lyrics particularly stand out here. I guess in that sense it’s similar to how I’d describe Indie Notes‘ music – stripped back but nice, well-written songs. So here’s to hoping we see some more from these two in the future!
[P@D] DJT & ThatMusicBrony – Saviour / NeverLastStanding – Helios | Glitch Hop
The opening song for an album carries an immense responsibility, like the first sentence of a book: it has to hook the listener in and convince them to keep listening.
At this, Saviour excels. Right off the bat, DJT’s joyous melodies and wubs set the mood. ThatMusicBrony provides some truly amazing vocals. The lyris are waterlogged with emotions, and the effects (reverb and delay) on the vocals are unbelievable. All throughout, the sound design shines through brightly. What a way to kick off P@D!
And here’s some more traditional glitch hop from NeverLastStanding! With oldschool vocal chopping, complex sound, and a banging beat, this is an instant classic. It’s such a danceable tune, the kind that you hear and think “This is rave music right here.” But then, around 3:50, the song takes a sudden, unexpected, and delicious turn with very touching melodies. A total masterpiece all around!
TheMusicReborn – Magus Cantio | Vocal Orchestral
I love D&D, and wizard is probably my favorite class. So imagine my smile when I saw a song about Twilight Sparkle, described as a D&D wizard, on the queue. TheMusicReborn’s song didn’t live up to my expectations—it exceeded them in every regard! The vocals sound like an old story-song, and the lyrics describe Twily perfectly. It’s easy to imagine a wandering bard sharing the ancient tale of Twilight the Archmage around a flickering fire.
[ASOS] Greyfade – At Night | Chillout
At Night is the opening track of Lollipop, and thus it’s obliged to hook the listener to get them to keep listening. At this it passes with flying colors. Beautiful ambiance, perfectly cold kicks, and fascinating bass merge in interesting, strange ways to form the soundscape of a cold pond by night.
Double Cleff – Luck of the Rose | Electronic Orchestral
Double Cleff revitalizes a very old and very good piece of his in this reboot. A song about Roseluck positively filled with love, happiness, and vibrancy, Luck of the Rose is already a good song. But Double Cleff’s vocoded vocals (reminiscent of All Levels at Once) make it stand out from the crowd.
[ASOS] Lunar Drift – Starlight | Alternative Rock
Lunar Drift has written a song about best pony, and I have the honor of reviewing it! Alternative Rock usually isn’t my thing, but Lunar Drift makes it very enjoyable. Starting with some samples of Starlight’s brainwashing in S5E01, it smoothly transitions into top-notch guitar playing. All throughout, the deliciously foreboding sense of impending danger remains, like the surveillance in Our Town.
