A much wonderful song with its heart-warming intent, Thunder Dash’s piano improv is spreading love and support as you can read from the description. A call to cherishing Friendship as well as an ode to hope for eventually finding a place where we belong, it will make you melt as the sweet progression of piano melodies unfolds. Daniel Ingram – At The Gala (Algo at All Remix) | Chillout
Algo at All has some absolutely fascinating mixes, and this slowed-down take on the Season 1 classic is one of them! The remix includes the vocals we all know from the original song, with an almost lo-fi beat and a trippy synth to guide the track along at its own pace. Using those small additions, Algo is able to create some interesting breaks between verses that really give the song a completely new feeling all its own. Later in the track, a few more instruments and pieces are introduced to keep the elongated piece fresh and unique.
Ocean Melody – Radiance | Orchestral
What a wonderfully joyous song! I’ve been trying to temper my expectations for the movie, but it will have been an undeniable success if it has even half of the beautiful soul of this composition. Paired with a snippet of art from the trailer, the arrangement begins as if opening on sun-drenched scenes that are for now left to the imagination and blooms into a beautiful story. This song is incredibly well-composed and dynamic. Well done, Ocean Melody, and I sincerely hope that the folks who worked on the film were similarly inspired!
Koron Korak, SDreamExplorerS, & Romeo Nightinamare – Guardians of Canterlot (Parody of Amon Amarth) | Metal
What do you get when you get a metal-head fanatic, an expert collaborator, and the king of European metal bass? Answer: A group cover that was fated to happen. Stemming from Romeo Nightinamare’s desire to ponify Guardians of Asgaard by Amon Amarth, they teamed up with Koron Korak and Soul Strings to give us this powerful story of those who would guard Canterlot from Queen Chrysalis and her “cannon fodder’s army”. The expert guitars really pop out in front of subtly brilliant drums. Mix that with S-tier bass action and some deep, DEEP vocals and you’ve got a cinematic war song!
SpinScissor – Frostbite | Indie Dance
KaraJam – Plastic Horse (feat. Sound Bandit & Amy Bestevez) | Hyperpop
Hyperpop seems like the perfect genre for celebrating the joys of getting lost in imagination while playing with plastic horses. The amped up, super sweet instrumental zips the song along through pastel landscapes of bubbly synths and bouncy beats. The lyrics are fantastic, delivered perfectly by the collaborating artists, and the whole package pairs so well with the visualizer. Would life be better as a plastic horse? There no way of knowing, but at least we have this song to help us get there in imagination land!
Snow Swirl – Evening in Ponyville | Drum & Bass
If you’re down for a simple evening stroll through quaint, rural streets, Snow Swirl perfectly captures that mood with “Evening in Ponyville.” Peaceful, light instrumentation dotted with some lively DnB sections maintains an overall relaxed vibe, throughout. Up-tempo drum and bass sections balance out more ambient sections. Some of the sound design reminded me of a nostalgic background track for an old-timey video game. Let this track’s soothing vibes warm you with the hometown-feel of Ponyville as the fading rays of Celestia’s sunlight dip beneath the horizon.
BlueBrony – Rush Hour Cadence | Nu-Disco
In the third installment of his princess-themed album, “The Princess Cycle,” BlueBrony presents “Rush Hour Cadence” – a funky, upbeat disco track inspired by the princess of love. A short intro with some fun plucks on the electric guitar quickly leads to an up-tempo drop with some funky disco sound design that periodically pulls back to make room for some smooth vocals. An interesting end to the piece is created by sounds reminiscent of a phonograph of yesteryear that slowly fades out. There’s even the sound of a record disc being popped out as the music comes to an end. Featuring plenty of horns, guitar, and fun synths, this track feels like a refreshing blast from the past with a modern twist. Be sure to check out this fun piece, as well as the other princess-themed tracks on BlueBrony’s newest album, “The Princess Cycle.”
Agatan, BlueBrony & Drummershy – Above the Waves | Synthpop
Today I’ve got something special for you, everypony! For his newest song BlueBrony recruited not only the amazing Drummershy but also the fantastic Agatan for this lovely song about the seaponies. This Synth-Pop masterpiece is sure to get you dancing, and with it being five minutes long you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the sweet vibes! The lyrics focus on the Seaponies’ desire to escape their underwater prison and rise above the waves once more. Did I mention yet that this combination is absolutely perfect for Synth-Pop? Well, now I have.
