PhonyBrony & Feather – I’ll Show You my Loyalty (Aventrix Remix) | Progressive House
(Listen to the original here)
Don’t worry, my friends, this Qilin has not left you or this music scene. I just needed to regroup before getting back into the swing of things!
I come to you with quite the track for my first article in months, A classic remix of one of Feather’s list of the memorable Rainbow Dash tracks she has been a part of in the early days of the fandom. Aventrix takes PhonyBrony lively mix and switches the emotion to something more dreamlike, almost trance vibes to channel Rainbow Dash’s very spirit of loyally and always will be the heart of many bronies even into generation 5. The harmonies fuel the way feather sings those all too powerful vocals of friendship in generation 4. I promise you all, its exciting times for the brony music scene where remixes such as these from the early days of the fandom will mean so much more to fans of this pony music scene with two generations of pony to see new wonders of creativity. Aventrix, I know this song is weeks old, but the timing of this remix could not be better as it is a reminder to remember how we all got here. The lyrics mean more because ponies like Rainbow Dash will always be special. Onward to more fantastic music from this fandom! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Skyshard – The Pursuit of Magic | Hybrid Orchestral
Skyshard really knows how to craft beautiful music, and this track is no exception! The heart and inspiration from the movie really come through here, and the lovely progressions create a wonderful journey that fits the film’s top tier aesthetics. It all feels as welcoming as a Maretime Bay breeze, so tune in and drift along with this song’s beautiful passion!
Evershade – Come Along With Me | Synthpop
More G5 good vibes incoming! Originally composed as a Dustcar track, this lovely tune takes the listener on a musical tour of the inspiring locations and themes in the film. Evershade’s gentle vocals float over a sweet melody and simple beat, and the vocals, arrangement, and playful lyrics fit together perfectly. The video backgrounds match the locales as they come up in the lyrics, which is a great touch. Such a wonderful, breezy, positive song!
Luck Rock – We’re Meant to be Friends | Power Pop
Luck Rock has combined awesome, riffy guitar goodness and the positive messages of the MLP G5 movie to create this fantastic, uplifting song! Opening with an awesome sounding classic power pop arrangement, the song becomes strataspherically fantastic when Luck Rock’s amazing vocals join in. The lyrics encapsulate the premise of the movie and the artist’s love for it so well, and the whole song is unbelievably full of goodness. The end got me right in the feels by drawing out the word friends and echoing a song that we all hold near and dear. We’re not worthy!
Algo at All – Thank the Stars | Chillout
With such a dreamy title, this new release by Algo has got to make you travel! It’s definitely as beautiful as a trip in Luna’s gorgeous Night sky, painted here with lulling sounds and a deep dive into cosmic wonders at midway. This track is actually about a certain story/fanfic, that you will find linked in the description!
Harmonic Six – Rarigretto in F Major | Allegretto
This “Rarigretto” is as lovely as the name suggests! The fabulous mare might approve of those delicate and refined melodies, enveloped in a warm atmosphere reminding that of a Baroque castle. A longer version of this would fit well as a field theme BGM in a game for such a map, and of course you would meet Rarity there!
SpinScissor & Nyancat380 – BRUSH ADDICT | Hyperpop
A dream collab that was meant to happen, two of our regulars teamed up for a magical result. Colgate aka Minuette got a new song, and a pretty dank one at that. Not only the cool and light-hearted lyrics are making for an awesome reminder of brony spirit, but the vocals come in all shapes and sizes, with a cuteness overload happening several times during the track. As for the instrumental, it’s sparking from the fusion of the two musicians’ skills! Give it up for SpinScissor and Nyancat380 everypony!
Cantersoft – Six Ponies Flying in a Pink Hot Air Balloon | Synthpop
Cantersoft was right when he said that he achieved something very catchy… Writing this song up a second time right now after I posted it on EQD, I have its vocals stuck in my head even without re-listening to it..! Aside from the catchy-ness, the song is brimming with pony cuteness, and in the video as well since it has got such a fun and delightfully light-hearted PMV/animation to go along with it. You can breathe pony while watching this..!
Vylet Pony – ANTONYMPH (Evershade Remix) | House
Evershade takes on one of the biggest songs of the year with this sweet remix! This version launches straight into the vocals with in-your-face percussion, then adds in new synths that put a fun twist on the original and give the song a pulsing delivery. I enjoyed the switched up Fluttershy chops, and using the bouncy synth line that opens the original in other parts of the song was a nice touch as well. The original vocals are used creatively throughout, getting chopped around and used to build a nice chorus harmony in parts, and they sound clean despite being sped up. Overall this is a really well-made remix and a great tribute to the original!
