Writers wanted: volunteer for HMH today!

Are you a brony music enjoyer looking for a way to contribute to the fandom this new year? We’re looking for more people to join our staff as writers to help us keep posting about new fandom music as it’s released!

We’re looking for people who:

Enjoy a variety of musical genres and willing to learn how to write about a range of music – being able to write about different genres will give you greater flexibility in the role, and it means there should always be something from our list you can write up.
Can dedicate at least 1 hour per week – our number 1 rule is that real life comes first, but in the long term we would like new writers to be able to write a couple of posts per week, each of which should hopefully take up less than 30 mins of your time.
Are proficient in English – you don’t need to be a native speaker, but good English makes things easier for you to write posts and for editors to edit them.
Use Discord – we run all operations on a staff Discord server, so this is a must.

Oohohooo~ The local popstar returns to us with another cover! And rise? Namii absolutely does with this cover of “The Twilight Will Rise”. I want to express how incredibly talented and versatile Namii is… They can go literally EVERY direction with their vocals! I think everything about this cover is perfect. It’s smooth, epic, and just pulls you in! I am really glad to see a classic brought forward once again with such power and determination. Truly like Twilights character I’d say. Phenomenal work Namii!

Jyc Row – Naegissa’s Music Box | Orchestral

I’m starting off the new year with yet another piece from the madlad Jyc Row with new piece of the Infitnite Eclipse series. This piece delivers a very eerie vibe. It’s oddly relaxing, but you just know something is coming… And YOU BET this piece helps deliver it. As its creepiness and intensity increases by the second. But only delivering a small taste of what’s to come throughout the series… It is in either case safe to say, Naegissa’s appearance is both something to dread and something to get hyped up about!

One thing that keeps me amazed regarding this project is how the builds-up remain so vast and consistent. I feel like a massive, wonderful story is going to come out of IE that’ll blow everybody’s mind. Well done, Jyc!

One Track Mind – Everywhere at the end of Equestria | Ambient

One Track Mind, delivers us a very, very intriguing Yona track. I find it ironic how this is a composition that was simply manifested out of nowhere, yet I find a very bittersweet feeling as mentioned in the comments. As if Yona and/or you are looking at a very bittersweet memory with a smile on your face and reminiscing about it. That’s just how I see it, but maybe One Track mind had something else…in mind (no pun intended I swear). But that’s what I like about writing specific articles for musical pieces such as these; to let the listener speak for themselves on what they think about it, and let them draw their own conclusions.

limbosystem – Dizzy, Starry Eyes | Indie Rock

Ah, nice lovely rock vibes from the homie limbosystem bringing us the track Dizzy, Starry Eyes. It’s the perfect title for a track like this because you wouldn’t pass an opportunity to stargaze, right? Those moments are truly beautiful. Aren’t they? I really enjoy the Beatles / Pink Floyd vibes this track gives us! The universe has always been a very interesting concept to mankind, and since music is what feelings sound like, isn’t it just beautiful to express that curiosity and beauty through Music?

EveryDayDashie – Mane Melody Nightclub | House

EveryDayDashie just keeps pumping out great music and I can’t keep up! This venture into classic ‘nightclub’ style house seems to channel the energy of a certain eurodisco classic with modern sounds and clean production. It’s also his first try at using AI text-to-speech to create vocals, with Pipp encouraging us all to get up on the dancefloor!

4everfreebrony – The Wings You Earned (covering Tarby) | Prog Rock

There’s an awful lot of history behind this song, having gone from a JackleApp demo (from 10 years ago!) to a Tarby demo to this polished release from 4everfreebrony! The magic in the simplicity of the original composition is only amplified by this arrangement as it draws out the feeling of yearning in its lyrics. Like in so many of his recent covers, 4EFB has breathed new life into an older fandom song and made something special.

This folksy, acoustic ballad is equal parts humorous as it is catchy as Thrack sings of the paradoxes of trying to be a pirate while dealing with the limitations of earth ponies. The syncopation is snappy and guarantees you’ll be singing along long after the song has ended!
