Throwback Thursday | Del Rom – Skyline | Chillout

While I was scrolling through my list of subscriptions to try and choose a TBT piece for us this week, I stumbled across Del Rom’s channel. He has a fairly small following, but deserves more subscribers in my opinion. He released this song 8 months before anything else, somewhat of an anomaly from the usual Drumstep and Electro on his channel, but perhaps his most beautiful song. Sit back and enjoy this.

Direct Current – Moonlight | Chillout

Direct Current’s music gets all of my yes. They’re making a great name for themself in the ambient and chillout scene of the wide spectrum of brony music, and I look forward to the release of this EP that’s being teased song by song!

Nicolas Dominique – Midnight Train | Chillout

Here’s a easy-going electronic piece from Nicolas Dominique. It’s a pretty straightforward track with ambient pads over a steady beat. While the ambiance is nice, I think it could benefit from gradually employing a more progressive evolution of the sound design over the course of the track.

Totalspark – Nostalgia | Chillout

Totalspark is back again with another chillout track to busy themselves between larger projects. Like many of their previous works, this tune is easy going featuring some ethereal pads, chiming bells, and gentle arpeggiating synths.

Direct Current – New Beginnings | Chillout

From his upcoming Eccentric EP, Direct Current brings us a chilled out yet also somewhat epic track about Twilight. It starts out pretty laid back, but I love the way it builds up so nicely without really needing to go anywhere in particular beyond that. Definitely a nice tune.

JackleApp – Winter (Ponytronic Remix) | Chillout

It’s been a while since I last heard a remix of a JackleApp song, it’s always nice to be reminded of some of the older gems from the brony music scene. Catch Ponytronic’s interpretation of it, another one from the Opalescence charity album.

ertrii – No Please | Downtempo

This is one of the more interesting tracks I’ve heard recently, from the juxtaposition of warm, melodic pads and distant dissonant wind whistles to the crazy intro: rest-of-song ratio. This is chill downtempo track with an air of mystery to it.
