Strigidae – Time To Be Awesome (covering Daniel Ingram) | Pop

Strigi’s voice has always stood out – he’s a pretty unique vocalist and it’s always nice to hear his songs, whether original pieces or covers of show songs like this one. He’s definitely improved his singing too, he’s really able to project properly in many parts of this song.

I really should see that movie at some point too…

Rarity Advocate – First Night Alone (Covering ThatSonofaMitch) | Orchestral

Reviving an underrated fandom classic, Rarity Advocate brings us a unique and splendid take on ThatSonofaMitch’s First Night Alone. This track adds new dimension to the synthpop original with a variety of gorgeous woodwind melodies combined with epic horn undertones. Culminating into a harmonically flowing piece or art, Rarity Advocate demonstrates expert orchestration while maintaining the feel and emotion of the original track.

FlutterRage – The Magic Inside (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal

Well here’s a remix I didn’t know I needed. FlutterRage combines the soothing beauty we know and love in The Magic Inside with some thrashing metal accompaniments. Adding heavy guitar chords and a sweet percussive beat to the original vocals actually mixes very well and brings a lot of energy to the track. Combining these elements with a souped up piano part makes this is a fun take on a classic show song!

PrinceWhateverer & Jyc Row (feat. Sable Symphony & MantaTsubasa) – Open Up Your Eyes (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal

The dynamic duo of Prince Whateverer and Sable Symphony teamed up with some other big talent in Jyc Row and MantaTsubasa to bring a face-meltingly epic metal cover of Tempest’s movie anthem. Using Jyc Row’s expert orchestration and Whateverer’s always excellent vocals combined with Sable’s complimentary harmonies, this cover brings a lot of energy and drive to the villain song we all love. Singing a solo during the interlude, MantaTsubasa adds an extra layer of dimension to the cover track with her extremely well-executed, hauntingly near-insane vocals.

Rockin’Brony – I’ll Fly Higher (covering AcoustiMandoBrony) | Rock

I’ll Fly Higher is probably my favourite of the collabs Acoustic Brony and Mandopony did back in the day, and it’s great to hear Rockin’ take on a full cover of the entire 7-minute song, instruments and all! Whether or not you enjoy some of the fandom ‘classics’, go take a listen to this, Rockin’ given it his all for a fantastic cover.

EnergyTone – Apples to the Core (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Rock

All of the awesome songs from the show shall never be forgotten, and EnergyTone’s cover of Apples to the Core is giving the musician’s Rock spin to the original all while paying much tribute to it. Rocking riffs and energetic vocals are all chanting that anthem for the Apple family all over again, including Pinkie of course!

Elias Frost – Raise This Barn (Finnish Metal Cover) | Metal

Here’s an interesting take on “Raise This Barn”: it’s a metal cover in the Finnish language!  Sure, it’s different, especially to the Western area of the world, but it’s well-put together.  The lyrics are on the top of the beat; the recordings are high quality; and the mixing is clean.  Nice job making it all fit nicely, Elias Frost!

Elias Frost – Monday Blues (Covering John Boyd) | Metal

Once again Elias Frost has covered a classic Equestria Girls song, and done an amazing job of it, especially with the guitar work! Keeping with the original theme, the song has a very “Monday morning” feel to it. I can see myself blasting this through my car stereo at the start of the week. The metal adaptation fits really well and Elias has done an excellent job bringing it to life. Well done mate, I’m keen for more!

Crusader! – Time To Be Awesome (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Pop Punk

Crusader covers his favorite song from the movie in his signature style, uplifting guitar and vocals ahoy! Singing like a pirate from the crew at heart, the musician cheers for Captain Celaeno and the other sky pirates in his own way, and not without performing a super cool guitar solo near the end! I’m sure Rainbow Dash would approve. By the way, her birthaversary is coming up, on February 1st this year!
