This is it folks! The moment we’ve all been waiting for… The Lycan Dese Beats, Beats Me 2 album release! This is the second Lycan Dese Beats album and we welcome back FritzyBeat as my cohost to provide his amazing commentary (and to put up with my puns). This album has been over 4 months in the making and a big thanks goes to ALL the musicians who submitted songs to make this a truly wonderful album.

Featuring a wide variety of genres (even including some very unusual ones), perhaps even more variety than in the P@D or LDB albums, this heartfelt compilation of sophisticated tunes will surprise and delight as you experience its many wonders, such as the very mellow and enthralling RarityRF (#7), the emotional and surprising you-would-never-guess pony vocals from Flut (#8), the incredible vocal chops from Protocat’s remix of I’ll Fly (#11), the masterful collaboration work in To Anon Too Late (#15), one of the best and most epic remixes of Luna’s Future (#21), Feral FurE’s wonderful remix of Better Than Ever (#26), some more feels from the Out On My Own remix (#29), the original Derpy-centered Surf Rock track Surfin’ Derp (#30), the blissful piano melodies from Tree of Harmony (#32), the heartfelt realtalk combined with quality instrumental in Waifu Blues (#33), the mighty rock spirit from Eclipses (#48), or the massive party track The Club Pony Party Palace (#50) that I will feature as a solo post next. I guess the expression “Do not judge a book by its cover” works here, and you won’t be disappointed if you decide to go give the full album a proper listen (and if you would consider donating, note that all proceeds will go to charity). [LDB] Sasha Lace – Love and Admiration (feat. Andante Skie) [covering SGaP] | Soft Rock

Taking on one of the songs by the legendary SoGreatAndPowerful, we have Sasha Lace and Andante Skie’s contribution to the new Lycan Dese Beats album. This soft rock cover features some wonderful lead guitar work and puts a rather different spin on the original version while keeping plenty of the original feel of it.

Daniel Ingram – Luna’s Future (Eurobeat Brony Remix) | Eurobeat

The godfather of brony music is back with another song that’s kinda like a cover, kinda like a remix. EB has done a remix of Luna’s Future featuring his own vocals, slightly modifying the structure of the original, and even wrote some additional lyrics to make a second verse!

Zephysonas – Luna’s Future (Google Translate Parody Version) | Orchestral

Normally we wouldn’t post something like this, but after a day of intense LDB album posts, we thought perhaps a bit of comedic relief would be apt. Zephy finds out how Luna’s Future sounds when put back and forth through Google Translate several times, with… interesting results. Have this to finish off the day.

[LDB] Francis Vace – Behind Those Eyes / Acouste Wholenote & SlightlyAmiss – So Far Away | Soft Rock

Continuing the LDB train with some grouped posts, we have a cover from Francis Vace of one of the songs on the first LDB album! This soft rock version puts a whole new spin on Behind Those Eyes like no remix could ever do, and those high notes are glorious!

And now we return to the 90s/early 00s again for a soft/alt rock song from Acouste and SlightlyAmiss. Filled aplenty with acoustic and clean electric guitars, and a good old bit of suggested shipping give this song a downbeat but emotional vibe. All the feels.

Lycan Dese Beats – Beats Me 2! | Album | Multi-Genre


Just over a year after the release of their first compilation album, Beats Me, Lycan Dese Beats has released a new album, consisting of entirely new and exclusive songs by the musicians they usually feature on their show. Similar to the Ponies at Dawn albums, this album offers songs from a grand variety of artists, however, this album has a greater non-electronic influence that you might expect, perhaps more all-rounded.

You can download this from Bandcamp for any given price, and we’ll be featuring songs from the album as they’re released with an [LDB] label in the post titles.

In Memory of MelodicPony

On Friday 24th June, we learned from an article posted on Equestria Daily that MelodicPony, a well-recognised orchestral composer in the fandom, had passed away, reportedly from a stroke. Aged just 27, this Czech musician created pieces that garnered hundreds of thousands of views, and showed an incredible talent for composition. Today, we wanted to make a post in tribute to him and look at the music he left as his legacy; few in number they may be, but known by many and consisting of 2 years of productions.
