Snow Swirl returns with their first release in nearly a year: a remix of A Friend For Life from Equestria Girls! This DnB rendition creates a warm, tight-knit atmosphere with the beautiful synths and piano tracks along with the original vocals and brilliantly crafted drumlines. Even with the fast pace, the mood is very uplifting and wholesome, and Jerrica Santos’ vocals – much like basically every vocalist on the show – suit the genre very well!
Electronic
Eniix – Flutter Rage (Pony Killerz Remix) | Electro House
The elusive Pony Killerz returns with a remix of Eniix‘s old tune Flutter Rage! Their version basically takes the original track and modernises it with clean production and dynamics while also using the original sample, that being Fluttershy raging in a different language. The powerful distorted bass really brings out those feelings you hear in her voice!
Daniel Ingram – We’ve Come So Far (Ardhy Remix) | Progressive House
Ok so I get to write about BaconHair now, Sweet!. Ardhy says he doesn’t think he can come up with his own ideas. Well until then. Keep making these remixes that you put your own swing too, so you’re sorta giving your own idea to it. Back to the song, Mr Ingrams song about Sunset Shimmer coming a very long way is frankly lovely. Sooooo let’s make it more uplifting. Ardhy put somw progressive house magic on it, The result is this song becomes powerful uplifting to Sunsets lyrics with this dreamily and epic melody to it. Well done sir. As always, This Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Toby Macarony – I Don’t Appreciate Your Sass | Alternate Electronic
He’s at it again. Mr Macarony making up his own rules for the creative of music. This time a tune about the mane six not taking any crap from no pony. This hodgepodge of elements that he has mixed up is a mixer of Jazz, Rock and Electronica. These melodies create a theme of something you would hear in a fighting game or an adventure game. It very appropriate for getting you in to vision of the mane six going into a place like manehatten looking to solve a friendship problem. When you listen to Toby’s stuff you just don’t know what you’re getting but it sounds unique and enjoyable all in the same. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Daniel Ingram – The Magic of Friendship Grows (Notion Remix) | Electro Pop
The variations of the final song of the series finale keeps rolling in and doesn’t appear to be slowing down. The Brony Notion comes in with a remix with wonderfully done editing the show strong feelings visually. Showing just how the mane six really means to all of us. The remix itself, has the flavor of electro-pop with just a dash 80’s pop music, if you know what to listen for. His main course is still part of the analysis community. But he can still make a good tune here and there. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
LaunchSix – Distance Between Us | House
Love is in bloom with the third track from LaunchSix’s Gravity EP. Distance Between Us shows a beautiful electronic atmosphere, the lovely major key pads and piano riffs behind heavy drums painting an image of the brighter sides of unideal situations, this one in particular being a long-distance relationship. Even those far apart can feel close as can be!
[P@D] Age Of Vinyl & Hay Tea – Moonrise | Liquid Drum & Bass
Age of Vinyl and Hay Tea is the most iconic duo of the so-called “DnB gang”. When they join forces it is hard not to stop everything and admire in awe the formidable achievement of two musicians being in total control and mastery of their craft. This time they gave us Moonrise, available as part of P@D: Eternal. The intro of a liquid drum & bass song is highly important and here it is made up of some slick sampling followed by some bells on top of strings that appear again during the bridge. After this, the main part comes and we hear the insane reese bass that is found in most Age of Vinyl songs which has the ability to catch the listener’s psyche and put them in trance at once. Thereafter, divine arps perfect what had been built just before. That second drop finishes this magnificent song by including the immortal flutterchops. These two musicians proved themselves once more capable of making us experience some of the most intense feelings music can provide. We truly are blessed to have them.
Sonic Rainboom – Arcana | Progressive Trance
Comebacks? Comebacks. Arcana is Sonic Rainboom’s first track in nearly 2 years, and was it worth the wait? This is a progressive trance piece that features Twilight Sparkle’s vocals chopped up to create part of the melody along with the atmospheric and filtered synths. The end result is something that sounds like a trance track from the 2000s, much like BassPon3‘s discography. What a wonderful way to return to the fold!
[ASOS] Tw3Lv3 – Aimless Destination | Liquid Drum & Bass
Where are we going? Wherever the road takes us. Track 38 from A State of Sugar: Brownie is Aimless Destination, one of Tw3Lv3’s two appearances on the album. This one is super chill yet fast-paced, the drums and bass taking center stage while some soft and subdued (and reversed-sounding) synths add a nice atmosphere. Liquid DnB is one of those genres that truly have something special.
RottenTotten – At The Break of Day (Altius Volantis Remix) | Trance
Altius had the lovely initiative of remixing RottenTotten’s Daybreaker-themed Orchestral beauty, and this new spin could definitely fit well as a “battle preparation” BGM in some RPG game! It could also play in some epic scene in a movie, enacting a battle between Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon!
