When it comes to hip-hop. I like my rap to have some kind of a style to it. Listening to my colleague J.Free for the first time. He fits the bill. The delivery of his rhymes is hard, fast and powerful. The newly remixed beat really backs this up with a boost of aggression. The lyrics themselves are full of all kinds of pony puns. His OC daring every creature in the evergreen forest to mess with him, and all Tartarus breaking loose when he shows up a party. This Parody of Lil’ Pump’s boss is kinda wild thanks in part of AJ’s remix of J.free’s original. Fun. smack-talking hip-hop, pony style! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Aelipse – The Old and the New | Orchestral
Master Aelipse is back, and looks like they haven’t lost their hooves at making such emotion-inducing, story-telling music! This one is about the beginning of a new chapter for the community, reflected in Twilight having to say goodbye to Golden Oak while planting the seeds of a bright future. Definitely a masterful and emotional composition, showing the extent of Aelipse’s talent once again!
Narokath – Dead Wings of Grace | Album | Progressive Metal / Orchestral
An interesting concept album, coming from the swedish one-man-band Narokath. An album telling a double story between two worlds: an individual and personal point of view about life and feelings about it, where each listener is invited to do their own understandings of it and a story set in a darker world of Equestria.

Vylet Pony – At the End of the Rainbow | R&B
The latest upload from Vylet Pony’s Love Letters: Colourless has Vylet taking on Rainbow Dash’s perspective and the resulting lament is a thing of beauty. The percussion in the tune is creative and hits just right, the textures are breathtaking, the vocals are mixed beautifully, and the melodies here are gorgeous and inventive. Vylet continues to prove she’s one of the best!

Ditherer – The Princess EP | Hip-Hop
New release by Ditherer, new exploration of a pony’s character depth or concept from the community! This one is about Princess Erroria, or the background pony that became famous because of how she appeared as an alicorn in the show out of animation error! With much dedication, our hero made a full EP around her that you can get from Bandcamp, and many guest musicians contributed. You can catch the lyrics here! Princess Erroria shall live on, thanks to very welcomed initiatives like these! Keep it up Ditherer and everypony!!
Elias Frost – Twilight Hime | Orchestral
Elias went all-out with this tribute to Twilight anime-style, with both an emotional and epic song, AND a drawing and frame-by-frame animation! This experience definitely reflects so well the kind of deep scenes found in animes, and Elias did amazing with the gorgeous melodies and the intense atmospheric buildup all throughout the song!
Evershade – I Got Time | Funk / Dance
Get ready for an Applejackgasm! This track is making amazing use of samples of her voice from the show, chopping them relentlessly, and making for a sweet moment in company of the hard-working Earth Pony. An absolute gem of creativity and pony love!
Zero Chaotic – Rebirth (Nemesis VIP) | Melodic Dubstep
This song really hits a cord with me on a personal level. The music itself goes in and out of this harsh and somber feeling, to this soft chilling thought-provoking music. The message is told with this experimental mix of beats. There is a little bit of metal, orchestral, and dubstep. The elements do work together with the emotion of this song. We’ll all been there with ourselves or watching those close to us fight for there lives. Don’t give up. A very strong message of this show about ponies. It’s a very creative piece of music and not something I’ve heard before. As always this Qilin asks for you to be the judge for yourself.
Washout – Road To You | Pop
Among the awesome surprises of the month, Washout’s tribute to Starlight and Trixie is so cute that it’s making me melt. Those tender and passionate vocals are to die for, the lovely lyrics were written with love and you can feel it, and the electronic instrumental is quite impressive! This is what it means to start with a bang in the pony music scene!!
