Francis Vace – Bright Pink Horse | Ska Punk

And so, we’ve come to the sixth and final track from Francis Vace’s Horses In Real Life EP. With Pinkie being as hyperactive as she is, a pony like her deserves a fast track, and that’s exactly what Bright Pink Horse is. Pinkie’s brought her rambunctious party animal attitude to the real world and can’t seem to stop dancing! The music is fast paced and full of crunchy guitars and trumpets that fit her hyperactivity perfectly. An exciting end to an equally exciting EP!

TCB – FRIENDS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD | Alternate Electronic

Tissues at the ready, because this track just oozes pure emotion. FRIENDS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD is TCB’s latest outing and a love letter to the fandom that sparked this whole musical movement. Starting off with an ambient intro, everything suddenly turns silent before jumping into a lo-fi/chiptune instrumental with edited vocal samples and 8-bit synths. The amazing sound design and freeform nature of the piece, especially the heavy electronic segment towards the end only adds to the pure cathartic emotion let out by this piece. With how much the song changes in its nearly 5 minute runtime, it just has to be heard to be believed!

[ASOS] Ice Angel & GrazySmash – Unscathed | Hybrid Orchestral

Ready for your first taste of A State of Sugar: Brownie? Track 24 from the upcoming compilation is Unscathed, a hybrid orchestral collab between Ice Angel and GrazySmash that combines elements of orchestral music, moombahton and big room house. The song starts off with a beautiful orchestral intro that slowly fades in with a soft synth riff and a pretty choir before being joined by orchestral percussion and then drums you’d expect from EDM before jumping into a drop, filled with a heavy bassline and powerful synth chords. After finishing a soft breakdown, the song’s tempo slowly begins to speed up before jumping back into the synth and drums full force, only becoming heavier and more menacing. Combining big room and orchestral music is no easy feat, but these two have pulled it off like it’s nothing! ASOS: Brownie releases on March 6th.

Radiarc – Button Forest | Orchestral

If you ever wanted a chill, relaxing piece of instrumental/orchestral brony music, this is definitely a song I’d recommend. The music, made up of violins, piano, and other orchestral elements, is honestly amazing, and the whole thing just comes together and gives off a “walking through a forest” vibe.

Francis Vace – A Horse Chained To A Tree | Ska Punk

She’d like to be a tree. Track 5 on Horses In Real Life is A Horse Chained To A Tree, a crunchy ska punk song about a very determined Fluttershy who absolutely refuses to let it be turned into land by way of cutting down the trees. For such a shy pony, the verses are very fast-paced as well as having a loud chorus! This song does a great job at showing her assertive side.

FilledSilhoutte – Allure | Future Funk / French House

Allure is a single from FilledSilhoutte’s upcoming EP DAZZLED ’92, coming out on February 21st. Alluring, dazzling, charming are quite fitting to describe the trio of sirens that inspired this track, which in turn inherits these qualities. Moreover, we could add funky and groovy, for this track is at the intersection of future funk and French house and uses a handful of disco samples. The melody is catchy and the bass is fantastic and often takes the spotlight in a fashion similar to that of the Dazzlings themselves.

Lukas Vokrinek – Celebrating the Past | Orchestral

Lukas Vokrinek returns with a love letter to the fandom in the form of an orchestral piece that sounds like it would fit the show’s tone perfectly! The strings and piano create an optimistic feeling of triumph, making it a good fit for the show’s ending. If you like the background music in the show, you’ll definitely like this too!

DAϟH – Equestrian Terror | Gabber

Don’t let the rickety rhythms of the introductory ambience scare you, for this mad gabber piece takes on the literal meaning of Hardcore music. This piece also incorporates samples from multiple classic pony animations, such as the Rainbow Dash Presents series from Dawn Somewhere, and the .mov series from hotdiggedydemon. DAϟH makes this track a very good opener and title track for his and Payyn’s album Equestrian Terror: An Introduction. The album also includes songs from DAϟH such as Blood Moon in the Everfree, Dream Demon, and Deadline Darling.

Koron Korak & StableTwoStallion – Ein Funkeln im Zwielicht | Industrial Metal

Who would’ve guessed these two would come together to create something fantastic? Ein Funkeln im Zwielicht is an industrial metal collab about Twilight Sparkle featuring StableTwoStallion‘s signature Rammstein-influenced vocal delivery in German while Koron plays drums and even the digeridoo at one point. Fantastic composition skills on display here from these two. Hope to see more collabs from them in the future!

Koa – To The Nines | Album | Pop / Electronic

Buckle up kids because this album is a must-have and has a little bit of everything! Koa started making a big splash on the scene last year with her hit single To The Nines and the full album follow-up named after the track packs all of the flashy and catchy tunes you would hope! The nine-song set contains several fantastic originals with a couple of excellent choice covers in the mix. Several popular fandom musicians appear over the course of the album including General Mumble, PegasYs, ShobieShy, and Luck Rock. While each song on this album is great and memorable in its own, here are just a few highlights:

Talk to Me – the light, ukulele-centered opening track has a very warm and welcoming message. With hints of pop-bass, a bit of chip-tune, and some humor, this song sets the stage for the personality that grows throughout the rest of the album.

Take Off – This electropop hit takes inspiration and impressively-mixed vocal chops from Hurricane Fluttershy. The theme is Rainbow Dash getting the pegasi in shape, and is set to a very catchy workout beat.

JFJF – This sassy track takes aim at people see a pair together and make blanket assumptions about the nature of the relationship. An interesting take on the concept of friendship, PegasYs lends his void to this upbeat bop and explains sarcastically and humorously how two people can be Just Friends, Just Fine.

Second Best – A very emotional and deep piece centered around a gorgeous, melodic piano riff, Koa explores the deep emotions of a dejected Great and Powerful Trixie. With supporting vocals from Luck Rock and ShobieShy (who provides a sick rap as well!), Koa really hits hard to anyone who has ever suspected others just want them to disappear.
