Michael Picher – Daybreaker | Orchestral

Michael Picher is a versatile composer. His music has been heard in award-winning short films and popular animated series. Years of composition experience is evident through their releases. I better get to the core of this article before melting. Broad trumpets announce the arrival of Daybreaker, known for her powerful appearance in G4’s Season 7. A powerful, villainous radiation of trombones conduct the heat well, while layers of trumpets take center stage (fittingly enough as trumpet has been the main focus of the composer for 20 years!) The intimidating wrath of the visuals will brighten up your surroundings and the fiery sound quality of this piece will evaporate your water bottle.

DJSleepyHooves – Bedtime Story | Plunderphonics

Time for bed, but first let me tell you a story; once upon a time a very special unicorn made lots of friends and together they showed the magic of friendship. Now a very special musician shows us their musicality of harmony. Based on the movie A New Generation, DJSleepyHooves stirs 2 soundtracks and a diversity of vocal sampling from the movie with their glittering creativity. A clever and silky intro with retro sounds playing from a cassette tape having Argyle as the storyteller abruptly glows up with the energetic drums as the ponies’ vocalization joins in like pinballs propelling to this musical gem. A priceless banger full of magic….bing bong!

ALostCarolean – Changeling | Darksynth

Changelings, evil creatures feeding off emotions of others; morphed from birth, to deceive and hide in plain sight. And ALostCarolean, Swedish music producer debuting with the industrial horror sound of Darksynth, an unexpected subgenre in the fandom. The arpeggio synth approaches from the distance and hulking drums leap directly onto your face with a thick, heavily distorted bass line while dark synthwave melodies fly in the atmosphere and electronic metal rhythms escalates the energy. If you love the type of dark clubbing themes, you’ll feed on the darkness of this tune.

Biscuit – This Is Where The Good Bit Starts | Metal Album

We’re dragged in hollow ambience, dispiritedness rings in the air as monstrous guitar riffs creeps upon us accompanied by slow drums quaking the realm. We just stumbled inside the wilderness of Biscuit’s first metal album and there is no exit till the end as we will be tangled by the pressure of radiating demonic screams, restless and torching deep guitar tones, breakdowns of dynamite blasts and double time meteorite drumming throughout this electrifying album.

This Is Where The Good Bit Starts.

MagicMakesItAllComplete – Unfix It Quick | Plunderphonics

I ADORE how OG MLP goes along with this. The nostalgia and the times of now get combined here to create a wonderful piece of music. This track itself is an EXPERIENCE. So many smooth, lovely, and chill vibes with BOTH top tier electronic sounds and yet the acoustic instruments mixed within add a touch of class. The vocal chops as well add unto making this track just… perfect, cute and wholesome. Let this track showcase that IT DOESN’T MATTER what generation of MLP the samples are from; they will remain TIMELESS, just like this track right here!

Awkward Marina – Anthropology (Marina’s 10-year Anniversary Version) | Pop/Electro Swing

Wow – believe it or not, it’s already been ten years since Awkward Marina’s legendary “Anthropology” came out, and to this day it still receives a lot of love (perhaps most notably via the BlackIceMusic Remix)! To mark the occasion, we have a renewed anniversary edition courtesy of Awkward Marina herself – so let’s get into the awesomeness!

The first thing you’ll notice is that the song received a whole new instrumental; we now have an upbeat pop melody with – you guessed it – lyre, guitar parts and some horse contributions later in the song as well, all of which create a fun departure from the predominantly piano-focused instrumental of the original! You’ll also be able to spot some slight changes to the lyrics, most obviously the increase in girl power as the names of Barack Obama and Micheal Phelps are changed to Lauren Faust (the beloved creator of Gen 4) and Lady Gaga (one of Awkward Marina’s musical inspirations). Additionally, Awkward Marina put in a bit of a fourth wall break, replacing the line, “Maybe humans like us, too, and dress like us at Comic Con,” with, “Maybe humans like us and write us our own fandom songs.” There are even more fun details to discover, but I’m not going to spoil it all – you’ll have to listen to it yourself (available soon on Spotify as well)!

Before I close this, I want to give a special thanks to Awkward Marina herself for being a big help in writing this article by explaining some of the details – this couldn’t have worked without her! Last but not least, a big thanks to theCANderson for helping me write an article that does this amazing song justice!
