There’s always something that blows me away on each Ponies At Dawn album, and I’ve found what Zenith has brought to the table. 4EverfreeBrony is no stranger to prog rock, having previously taken inspiration from Rush, but bringing Drummershy’s influence from Dream Theater into the mix has resulted in this masterpiece! You experience a full range of dynamics, from atmospheric guitars with precisely detailed percussion, to full punchy riffs with synths and string orchestration. Go take a listen for an epic 6 minutes of prog goodness!
Original
[P@D] TCB – Above (feat. Kozzy) | Color Bass/Hip Hop
[P@D] Ethan Toavs – Sol’s Journey | Orchestral
MelodyBrony – F.I.N. | Metal
Melody returns with an anthem based on the season 9 finale of MLP:FiM and full of determination, displaying a wonderful fusion of metal and pop elements. Dramatic strings, an infectious hook, and Melody’s bright voice pleading for reassurance and strength are sure to get your head banging. Turn that volume up and raise your hooves high – the only way to play this song is at full blast!
Frozen Night – The Light and Its Shadows | Orchestral
Frozen Night’s latest release shows us a piece written a few years ago for the fan game Ambient.White! This piece seems to narrate the aftermath of a battle, and builds some tension while maintaining a sense of determination. It’s as if, despite the hardships of battle, there’s a way through at the end. Check it out for a short but sweet piece of OST!
Sprocket – Redemptio Lunae | Hybrid Orchestral
Inspired by their piece, “Luna’s Redemption” releasing nearly a decade ago as well as the journey that this fandom has taken Sprocket on through all the years since, “Redemptio Lunae” may bare little resemblance to the former track, but it compliments it very well!
Mournful yet hopeful, this piece makes very good use of tension and has an atmosphere with plenty of intriguing instrumentation that compliment each other wonderfully. From sustained strings to brass folly, emotional and complex piano runs and choir chants there are also some well utilized e-pianos and synth arpeggios that really add to the mood. And don’t get me started on the crisp, low harpsichord in the opening act that’s subtly hypnotic! At six minutes, there’s plenty to unpack with this song and each section has a distinct, yet subtle shift in tone which all flow together seamlessly. Have I mentioned this is their first MLP related track in five years? Its a welcome return and I am excited to see where we go from here!
Burning Gryphon – Ponies After Midnight | Rock

Continue readingSlightlyAmiss – Echoes | Metal
Today I’m very happy to finally bring you some more fire tunes from the amazing SlightlyAmiss! This one is dedicated to a dark Princess who rarely gets as much love as the others: Midnight Sparkle is a fun character to explore, and how better to do that then with some fire metal tunes?! The song has everything from an exciting intro to a fire hook that gets you headbanging no matter if you love or hate metal! It’s got your exciting vocals and hard screaming vocals, and finally a very well executed outro! So have a listen and enjoy this awesome track!
SpinScissor – Marshmallow Girl | Electro Pop
I’m far from the first person to say this sounds like Owl City, but it really does seem like a track off Ocean Eyes! Even though the upbeat and danceable instrumentation is fantastic in itself, it’s SpinScissor’s vocal performance that really shines through on this song. The dynamic range between the soft-spoken verses and shouted choruses, the tastefully tuned vocals, the little touches of call and response lyrics; it all comes together to make an excellent song!
PrinceWhateverer – Shallow Naivety 2022 ft. Frozen | Metal
A household name with an orchestral twist! PrinceWhateverer and Frozen Night bring us an emotional track about King Sombra’s relationship with Princess Celestia that fans of the IDW comics will especially appreciate. Keep an ear out for the drum solos as well as the orchestral breakdown by Frozen Night, which beautifully contrasts with the heavy guitar that Prince is known for, putting Sombra and Celestia’s heartbreak front and center. Add to that the wonderful animation by Nootaz, and you have a collaboration that’s definitely worth a watch!
