Lunar Drift – Discordant Dances of Royal Blood | Orchestral
Lunar Drift’s newest treat is a special one for us Prog Rock fans as it builds around a certain melody from Genesis’ Dancing with the Moonlit Knight (one of the most famous Prog Rock bands of all time that also happens to be my favorite). With much inspiration and passion, Lunar Drift crafted an intense, progressive, psychedelic (as fellow HMH writer Mordecai Mapper commented) piece, always delivering such amazing creativity with the use of rock instruments and electronic elements as well, and the whole track is such a delight of blissful sound!
Luck Rock – I Can Change (feat. Crusader!) | Ska Punk
Luck Rock teamed up with Crusader to create a lovely and heartfelt homage to Thorax and Spike helping him see the light and acceptance that everyone can get if they “change” to a better self. Mellow and pony-like vocals blend with an awesome Ska Punk instrumental, and the duet of the rock musicians is such a wonderful display of harmony! Friendship is Magic!
Freewave – Freewave in Equestria | Indie Pop
Pony music scene figure Freewave has been delighting us with inspired and tasteful pony tracks for eons and I’m happy to present you this very meaningful new upload from the passionate musician that reflects his tender feelings towards the road travelled and the lessons learned. Another message of love to the community and to ponies, it also acts as a tribute to his daughter and brings all the mellow and happy vibes, with equally lovely vocals and instrumental. Heartfelt songs are always the best! Keep up being yourself Freewave, we love you, and stay Free!
4everfreebrony – As The Thunder Rolls By | Acoustic
4everfreebrony made this work of art for helping those who are going through a tough time, especially for those who have been suffering from natural disasters. He was inspired to make this work by the thunderstorms that took place while he was in Argentina. The instrumentation is quite simple: voice, guitar, piano, drum-set, and some auxiliary percussion, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be emotional for some people. What really makes this song a nice one is how clean everything sounds. From the voice to the percussion, this work is sweet to listen to, even if it’s just for relaxation. Just wonderful!
Chord Catcher – Come Home Soon (covering JoaftheLoaf) | Acoustic
Simplicity is nice sometimes. A solo acoustic guitar and a voice are plenty enough to make a song, as Chord Catcher shows here, continuing his tradition of releasing cover songs every now and again 😉 Take a listen for something nice to end the day with.
Ponytronic – Timeleaper | Drumstep
Ponytronic’s newest release is a wubbly, haunting composition of absolute force. It’s packed with bass and lovely cutoff effects. An assortment of DnB-like sounds kick in about halfway, while the broad, windy ones persist throughout. At every part, I’m struck by the vastness of the sound; it really does sound like a science fiction track.
Nicolas Dominique – Raise The Sun (2017) | Ambient
Revamped songs are always cool to hear – sometimes you get to see how much a musician has improved over the years, and sometimes you just get a completely new experience of a song! In this case it’s the latter, with Nicolas turning this song from trance to a much more downtempo ambient piece.
Hay Tea, Age Of Vinyl & Faulty – Reverse Rain [VIP] | Liquid Drum & Bass
Feels like the original of this only just dropped recently, and there’s a VIP already! This version of the track adds plenty more drums compared to the rather low-key original, but still manages to keep a minimalist feel while giving it that classic chill liquid dnb feel and flow.
