Brony Fandom! Are you ready for A State of Sugar: Chocolate!? Wella, let this dragon pony kick off Horse Music Herald’s coverage with a mythical track. An epic song about our beloved Book Horse and newly crowned ruler of Equestria, Twilight Sparkle!
Thorinair has been away from the scene for a while. What an amazing way to return with a track of epic production!
You want a breathtaking song about her, Then get ready for a real treat!
After everything that has happened in 9 seasons, this track tells one big story: Through all of the trials, the quests, the dangers, the lesson, the hardships, and the seemingly insurmountable odds that Twilight has had to face, she has had the strength and courage to face her own demons and overcome them all. The wonderful beat that carries this track gives you such a big smile, as you can picture Twilight running to this beat through all of these past adventures. Oh, those hyper snap drums before the drops are like a huge burst of positive light hitting you. The slow and emotional melody with such inspiring elements and keyboard notes is so powerful. You feel like you are there with twilight as she passes each test and bests each challenge. She’s never been alone; she had her friends and every single brony standing behind her giving her support. You really can see her grow as a character as the song progresses. There is a section right in the middle of the track that builds up into this emotional drop that will give you chills. It recalls a great moment from the series finale, when Twilight’s friends believed in her when she didn’t believe in herself and the stakes were so high. We all watched our screens and believed in her when she felt she had messed up so badly and failed everyone she loved. (you can watch that clip here) When that drop happens, it is like the moment when Twilight found her resolve and became a hero that refused to be stopped. This track is so powerful and so uplifting, you will be yelling “BOOK HORSE!” with passion. This is the Twilight song that we needed. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Today we got ourselves a lovely track from AC-527, who is in the process of making songs about all the main six, all about our favorite shy yellow horse. The track works a lot with soundbites from the show and combines them with a lovely electro beat in addition to that there is a short part where the background beat gets really upbeat and happy with only a few soundbites in between and just for this part the song is already worth listening to. Also, believe it or not the Discord you hear in there is not John de Lancie but from a fandom VA known as Thornquill and I have to say it took me until I read the description to realize that those are not soundbites from the show too.
Today we got ourselves a track by a lesser known artist by the name of Yuru (Redstone Brony on YT and Soundcloud) who brings us an amazing house track. The track starts out with a beat that goes from simple to awesome in ten seconds flat (literally) and keeps on building until it transitions into a simpler beat which starts building again until it reaches its apex in a melody that will make you dance no matter where you are. Later it transitions back into a simpler, calmer melody that gives you time to breathe after all the dancing and than starts building up again until it once more reaches its apex in the same dance melody from before. This right here is a genre that needs to be shown off in the fandom more often! This 100% good ol’ fashion techno. It goes right into the theme of Equinity 3. The awesome melody embodies the mascot of the label trying to make a great escape from a grand heist. The beats and effects really push the tempo on the drama of this story. Each of the effects, like the use of the keyboard notes, the rumbling and rolling pace and even the harmonies used as well are nice. The pounding bass with the grindy buzz sounds like an alarm system going off and she has to swiftly leave before she is trapped. Oh, and a nice little easter egg at the end there as well. Techno still is one of the best genres of electronic music and needs to be used so much more in my opinion. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
So how do you make a track better when it was already featured on P@D: Skyward? (You can listen to that track here). I’d say this is upping the game here. So… If you like a track about how annoying Trixie is, then here you go, fans of Trixie. As said by my colleague Canatime in our in Equinity 3 album review, the track is full of elements that really highlight Trixie’s personality traits, being that they are annoying and cute at the same time. As said by him, a delightful reese bass sound, incredibly mixed drums, a smooth lead and even cheeky vocal chop all highlight Trixie’s character in a well composed package. Single Purpose sure has a winner here. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Today we have got ourselves another great song from the Equinity 3: Breach album. Budzy brings us a Dubstep track modeled after his older releases. The track starts out how you expecte a clubsong to start out: with happy uptune beats, but as soon as the beat picks up you know this isn´t your run-off-the-mill club song, the massive beat is sure to blow you off your feet and the beat from the beginning get´s repeated in different versions through out the song and is sure to make you smile. Lovers and haters of Dupstep alike I can promise a exceptional experience with this stellar track.
Today we have a new track from Checkerëd who remixed MrMehster’s Spirit animal. The track starts out pretty decent with howling and what sounds like a blacksmith hammering a sword on an anvil, but when the beat sets in you realize that this is going to be a burner and a half with his rather simple and sinister sounding beat Checkerëd is sure to impress you, then around the half way point the beat again calms down a bit before picking up again this time adding the shriek of an eagle. If you have searched the internet for a piece of music that makes you bob your head along while introducing you to a style of music that you might not even have realized existed than look no farther than this track.
Today we have a charming song from MirroredReality, this song is focused around White Tail Woods and the notion of a rainy day. MirroredReality split this song in two halves, the first one centers around a rainy day and sounds like it with various small noises, including of course rain, accompanied by a beat and every now and again a bird, the second half focuses on what comes after the rain and is much cleaner and has a more upbeat tune to it and includes more birds. A great song to just chill for some time and don’t think about anything else than you lying in a forest, it’s like the imagination thing your RE teacher made you do only with the difference that this one actually does what it’s supposed to do.
This time we got ourselves something special everypony! SDreamExplorerS brings us a folk metal song in Belarusian language and with the help of Koron and Pavel he put together an epic 5 minute track. The lyrics are fully in Belarusian which you think may make it lose some of the flair if you don’t understand the language, while that may be true a bit I also don’t speak nor understand Belarusian but either way I like this song. The combination of guitar violin, Belarusian and the bits of narration by Pavel Lipski gives this whole thing a very epic feeling.
Lukas Vokrinek brings us this amazing Ambient song that puts you at ease as soon as you put it on. Had a stressful day at work or was your teacher unbearable again? We all know we have those days where we want nothing more than just lean back and maybe just take a nap for some time, Lukas brings us the perfect song for exactly that, the calming piano accompanied by a lot of sounds you hear in the forest in the evening make this the perfect song to just lean back, close your eyes and think of nothing other than the forest and its critters for a few minutes.
