Koa & loopyy – Pull Over (Siren Song) (MelodyBrony Remix) | House

Today we got ourselves another amazing remix of loopyy and Koa’s masterpiece Siren Song, but this time around it’s from someone who you wouldn’t really expect to make EDM! In his first foray into the genre, MelodyBrony brings us this awesome remix, so let’s get straight into the amazingness!

We start out with the original Koa vocals and slowly get into the awesome rhythm, accenting Koa’s voice very well and introducing a subtle build. We get an unexpected beat switch which plays very well into the siren theme. Melody gives us his own take on the classical drum build up, and takes us into the stunning drop. There’s a taste of the original melody, with a stop beat to subvert expectations again, before the full front of the amazing drop. This drop is made wonderfully with an upbeat melody, drums on point, fun chopping of the vocals, and it is all supported by a constant loop of “Hey!”s that keep the whole section hyped-up.

After the drop Melody dares to jump straight back into a calm beat – executed to music perfection! But we don’t keep calm for long as claps set in and start edging us to the next drop, making for a wonderful mix of an interlude and build up section. Just when you think you know what’s coming, the instrumental drops out leaving just the vocals before the actual build up (just as amazing as before), hyping us into the drop. After the drop, there’s another sharp and sudden cut to only the instrumental which slowly builds up into one of the most amazing outro’s I have ever heard. Melody not only shows off some great guitar skills, but he goes crazy on the vocal chops! We get a few last synth notes before this masterpiece comes to an end. If you only enjoy EDM half as much as I do I can tell you you will love this song, so go ahead and take a listen.

Jyc Row – Midnight Sparkle, the Dark Angel | Epic/Apocalyptic Orchestral

With his newest track, Jyc Row actually moved away from Infinite Eclipse and gives us a sequel to two pieces he made back in 2017, mostly to test out a new VST he bought for himself, but nonetheless it still sounds amazing – so let me get straight into it! The piece starts out with epic choir chants that immediately bring you right into the epic feel of the track. Slow strings join in and start this apocalyptic end-of-times-like melody, mostly expressed by the chants, as the strings take a more supportive background role. After a bit we switch to more female chants that slowly ramp up into another section where we get strings, drums and a few other instruments, ramping up up bringing us back into the epic chants as everything rises and the chants hold a high note for a few seconds, only for the song to go completely quiet and end in a small string part.

BlueBrony – The Magic of Hearth’s Warming (feat. Agatan, Flitterkriz & Sakairi Melodious) | Funk / Orchestral / Jazz

Hearth’s Warming songs are always one of my favorite parts of the season and this one hits it out of the park! I’ve known about the making of this song for a while but everything I heard massively understated how awesome this is! Before the song itself starts we get a quick holiday skit, involving all the musicians, I won’t touch on that too much because this is about promoting the song, but let me tell you it’s hilarious and provides a good transition to the song itself.

Marcato Sound – Inkblight | Orchestral

So you like Orchestral and are like me a sucker for great String sections? Well, do I have the song for you! You don’t? Well, then I still have the song for you! Inkblight is such a wonderfully epic and grandiose piece, and a must-listen! Marcato Sound wrote the song as part of a fanfic’s OST and oh my god, it is wonderful! We’ve got your epic intro with Strings, drums and more, quickly we get something that blew my mind, Marcato Sound uses a Cymbal to create what is best described as an orchestral riser, something I didn’t know was possible but certainly enjoy! We ramp up the epicness for a bit and soon some lovely woodwinds join in to create almost a magical feel to the piece. After a bit we ramp up again into a faster rhythm, again perfectly accented by the woodwinds and as we progress further through the piece, we ramp up even more with some horns, lending this feel of quick action. Before we get to the ending bit, we again get a calmer section, this time the melody is backed what I can only assume is a cembalo which is something we don’t get all too often and brings an amazing feel to the whole song before we end out on another epic fast paced section and a finishing bit of woodwinds.

Vanessa Hudgens – Gonna Be My Day (loophoof Remix) | Complextro

Well, let’s address the blatantly obvious: every note and beat of this song is amazing, so half of this article is going to be me gushing, and it’ll need theCANderson’s touch to make it sound coherent, so this might sound slightly different then my normal writing. The song is just too amazing!
We start this absolute masterpiece with the amazing vocals by Vanessa Hudgens and just a small melody, but as Sunny skates through the town of Maretime Bay the melody slowly builds up. Then we approach one of my favourite parts of the song: as Sunny skates through the streets we get this really stunning bit where only every few words or so we get an amazing beat, and the rest of the time it’s just Miss Hudgens’s stunning vocals. Then the beats and melody slowly ramp up to a build up that was sent from the heavens. And just as heavenly is the absolutely gorgeous drop where we keep our beat from before as the melody and other synths ramp up to 300 percent, resulting in a wonderful drop that words fail to describe! There’s also some awesome vocal chop work in there! We jump straight out of the chorus in the next verse, and the beat first starts out like in the beginning of the song–rather calm and really highlighting the vocals–but soon it ramps up again, into a funky, more disco sounding beat, something I didn’t quite expect but love to hear! We quickly get back into the lovely, beat-vocals-interplay, and then before you know it we’re back to the absolutely fire build up before jumping right into the even more fire drop! This is so unbelievably much fun; I promise you that even if you hate EDM you will love this! This time as we jump out of the drop we get some more amazing vocal chop work that’ll make every EDM-addict’s heart beat faster! Next we get this small, more quiet beat that is reminiscent of the intro beat but isn’t the same. Along with the vocal build from the original we also get an amazing build up in the beat: Now the beat from the earlier interplay joins a riser as they form one of the best EDM buildups I’ve ever heard! The drop is amazing as always, and for the ending we get this amazingly done bit where the beat just suddenly cuts out and we only get a slight bit of melody to accent the final lines of vocals.
All the thanks to theCANderson for proofreading through my incoherent gushing!

Acryliks – And on that day, she lost her only family… | Orchestral

(slight warning: if you are currently grieving, maybe skip this song until you’re feeling better)
This song starts out with just the wind, blowing through your ears as a low growl rises together with foreboding, dark bells as slowly a mournful string section starts playing. The strings continue on, slowly starting to sound hopeful and then dramatic again in a constant switch from one to the other. Towards the end dull and dark sounding drums set in, moving the whole song into this heavily tragic range as we end on the same dark bells we started on.
Thanks to theCANderson for proofreading!

Daniel Ingram – Say Goodbye to the Holiday (SweetF1RE Remix) | Dubstep

Today we have a song that is a bit different from what you might expect. We immediately start with a hard, bouncy beat and a bit of vocal chopping. And now for something completely different! All of a sudden this turns into a vocal chop dream! The entire beat is supported by vocal chops as we build up into the drop, and this drop–oh my! If you enjoy Dubstep, this drop will be a wonder for you! Filled with all sorts of fancy beats and vocal chops this drop really shows the skill of the artist. In the middle the beat changes a bit, now sounding more like faint crying before it builds back up into this vocal chop firework. We end this Dubstep firework on some more of that amazing drop!

CAPT – Merry! | Lo-fi / Drum & Bass

CAPT never ceases to amaze with their work! I personally am a sucker for theory style of production, and this song is just so wonderfully done! It starts out with a really fun melody, which slowly fades in as more elements are added along with a riser, resulting in some of the most fun DnB ever! Everything about this is so amazingly cute and wonderful. Around the middle we get a bit of a switch up as we keep the melody but move into some new elements and instruments. We end this wonderful track with a very fitting crash.
Huge thanks to theCANderson for proofreading this!

Corrosion – Hateful Night | Deathstep

This is one of those songs that absolutely surprised me! Personally I’m not that much into Deathstep, but every once in a while you come across a gem you can’t help but enjoy, and this is one of those gems! The beat works really well to establish this scary, dark atmosphere, and it combines with vocal chops from the show that include an echo effect to spice up the song really well. Towards the end we get a switch of the main melody into something equally fun, and pretty much every drop is a unique piece in and of itself!

Daniel Ingram – Under Our Spell (Kaida Bootleg) | Hybrid Orchestral

With G5 here, who says we can’t have some fire remixes of old tunes! I love listening to new remixes of EQG: Rainbow Rocks music, and this one is great! We start by slowly fading in all the elements, something a lot of people do but that is hard to do well, and Kaida is one of the musicians who do it really well! As we get our first build up we move more into the electronic space as a drum build up takes over from the orchestral drums. Before we hit our drop we get a small part where the instrumental goes quiet for just a second so the vocals are highlighted, and then we move into this gem of a drop! The drop combines elements of both Orchestral and EDM making for a great combination that probably shouldn’t work but does! Afterwards we go back to more orchestral-leaning elements before moving into this awesome build up/drop combo! We end this masterpiece quite fittingly on the evil laugh, just like in the original!
