Burning Mare presents Volume VII: Midnight Blazers

Burning Mare is back again for its seventh edition, bringing in the new year 2023 with a huge online concert. It was originally scheduled for 2 days of music, but I guess the organisers decided that wasn’t enough; there’s now a VR pre-party today in collaboration with Myriad, a VR party organiser, before the mane event kicks off tomorrow! You can expect some surprises on NYE itself too, with 3 guests still to be announced 👀

You can watch the concert on Burning Mare’s Twitch channel and join in with other party-goers in their Discord server.

Ardhy Mahardhy – D A S H | Trance

It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from Ardhy, but they’ve made a welcome return to YouTube with this trace tune. The combination of agressive and relaxing, driving and melodic elements is fitting for the genre and the mood of a high-speed solo flight.

The Wilders – Rule 4 That (EveryDayDashie Remix) | Glitch-Hop

EveryDayDashie has dived straight into the G5 scene with yet another remix, this time of a Tell Your Tale song. Considering it’s the first time they’ve made these kind of dubstep-adjacent sounds, they’ve done a pretty good job weaving all the sounds together to make a cohesive heavy beat!

SOUND BANDIT – YOU MUST SHINE | Plunderphonics

NB: Re-upload

Sound Bandit’s been discovering a newfound love for G3 and this song is the result of that. As well as a unique style of music that turns from soft pianos and pads into electronic drum sounds, this song carries the message of shining your light for everyone – be the person you are and don’t be afraid to show it!

PrinceWhateverer & MelodyBrony – The Wonderbolt and the Thief (Stereophonics ponified) | Alt. Rock

More like Stereoponics, am I rig- oh they did that in the video…

Turn-of-the-century Britrock + ponies? Yes please! This pony parody of The Bartender and the Thief does a really good job of recreating the sound of the original Sterophonics song. Prince did the vocals on this one and Melody all the instruments, so you know you’re bound to get something that sounds great.

BlackIceMusic & Namii – Memory (Dropper Vampire Remix) | Progressive House

Dropper Vampire’s put their own spin on BlackIceMusic and Namii’s album opener from Ponies at Dawn’s Zenith album and it’s managed to transform the song into something else. They’ve gone for a more melodic approach than the original with very trancey pads and adding in their own synth melodies which create a wonderfully triumphant feel every time it drops!

Anamore – Everything To Me (Misty Song) | Drum & Bass

It’s great to see that the fandom is continuing to make plenty of music inspired by the latest generation of MLP, such as this Misty-inspired drum and bass song from Anamore. She explores a headcanon of what could happen in the current season; her vocals being at the forefront of everything, but backed up by a driving dnb beat mixed with pianos and electric guitars to make it nice and heavy too!

Rave for the House of Belles presents: The Winter Rave 2022

The Rave for the House of Belles, the annual charity summer concert run by former and current HMH writers Emma and Drake, is returning this weekend for a holiday special! Promising another 2 days of performances, you can expect not only a variety of DJ sets with genres from trance to deathstep, but also the debut live performance from Painters & Poets, Acouste Wholenote and SlightlyAmiss’ alt rock duo!

As before, the concert is running in effort to raise awareness and money for their friend Mezair, a plush maker, as her father battles stage 4 Lymphoma. Donations made to her Ko-fi will go towards cancer-related expenses and emergency veterinary care. Plush commissions (more info available here) will also help support these.

To tune in, you can watch the event livestream on Emma’s YouTube channel Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December, starting at 3pm Eastern each day, and join the Rave’s discord server to chat with other concert-goers and performers.
